Chapter 78 Boyfriend Su Ke

A sudden downpour began, the rain pattering against the windowsill.

Liu Nian, who had just seen off a guest, was busy moving the flower pots from the doorway inside.

Summer rain either doesn't fall at all, or it pours down.

The sky was clear and blue in the morning, but a torrential downpour started in the afternoon. It came so suddenly that no one was prepared.

In the morning, Su Ke and Ning Xia moved out a lot of flower pots placed at the door, more than twenty pots in total. This made it impossible for Liu Nian to move them all at once, and some of the flowers that had already bloomed were inevitably damaged by the heavy rain.

Looking at the dilapidated flowerpots, Liu Nian felt a pang of heartache! These were all living flowers.

While still in school, Su Ke looked out at the torrential rain and thought about the flowerpots that had been placed in front of Liu Nian's flower shop that morning, and he felt a little worried.

How could one person possibly move all those potted plants in the fleeting years?

He was lost in thought during the break, which Xiao Yang and Si Yue found quite intriguing.

It should be noted that Su Ke has always been serious about his studies and is rarely seen to be distracted in class.

The two exchanged a glance, both seeing confusion in each other's eyes.

Su Ke's absence last night had piqued their curiosity all night, and now he was even distracted in class—was he already secretly dating someone? Was he thinking about his girlfriend right now?

Thinking about it this way, both of them decided at the same time to question Su Ke thoroughly after class.

The rain showed no signs of letting up. By the time Liu Nian had carried all the flowerpots from the doorway into the shop, the water at the entrance was already above the soles of her shoes.

She got soaked while moving flower pots, and seeing that the rain outside showed no signs of letting up, she decided to go upstairs to change her clothes and blow-dry her hair.

Just as she went upstairs, a boy walked in through the shop door.

The boy was soaking wet. He didn't take a step after entering the store. Instead, he stood on the doormat and looked around at the store's layout. His gaze lingered on a slightly messy pile of potted plants. After thinking for a moment, he went over and took the initiative to arrange the potted plants neatly.

He then cleaned up some of the flowers that had been scattered by the rain. After his kind care, the flowers that were just broken were now somewhat presentable.

When Liu Nian went downstairs, she saw that the flower pots she had just moved in and hadn't had time to tidy up had been neatly arranged, and even the fallen petals had been cleaned up.

She was momentarily stunned.

At that moment, a boy appeared at the door, holding a mop in his hand. When he saw Liu Nian, he was also a little stunned.

Their eyes met, and time broke the silence first.

Her tone was light and cheerful, and her eyes were smiling as she said, "Hello, did you help me tidy up these flower pots?"

The boy nodded, a little embarrassed: "It was raining so hard just now that none of the nearby shops were open. I saw your shop was open, so I thought I'd come in to take shelter from the rain. But when I came in and didn't see anyone, I took the liberty of tidying it up. I'm sorry for doing this without your permission..."

"It's alright, I should thank you! You're soaking wet, are you okay?"

The boy shook his head, looked himself over, and thought it was alright, at least it was cool.

"It doesn't matter."

The rain was still falling outside. Liu Nian looked at the boy, who was wearing a sports uniform and was probably a college student from the neighborhood.

"This rain isn't going to stop anytime soon, why don't you sit down for a while and wait until it stops before you leave!"

The boy didn't say anything, just nodded somewhat shyly.

Liu Nian glanced at his hair, which was still wet, and thought about how the other person had helped him tidy up the flowerpots.

She took out a small chair and placed it by the counter, gesturing to him, "Please sit down first."

"Thank you." The boy thanked him but didn't sit down. Instead, he held up the mop and said, "Let me mop the floor for you first! It's all wet."

Liu Nian didn't stand on ceremony and thanked her with a smile: "Thank you for your trouble."

After saying that, she turned around and went back upstairs. A little while later, she came down with a dry towel and a hairdryer.

Fortunately, there was a power strip near the stairwell.

Liu Nian placed the dry towel on the counter and then plugged in the hair dryer.

"Don't delay, blow-dry your hair first! Even though it's summer, you can still catch a cold."

The boy thought about it and agreed. After thanking him again, he put the mop aside and went to blow-dry his hair.

While he was blow-drying his hair, Liu Nian took the mop and started mopping the floor herself.

She brought in quite a bit of rainwater while going in and out, but luckily there wasn't much mud, so it wasn't difficult to mop. The shop isn't very big, and she finished mopping in no time.

After putting the mop on the shelf next to the door, Liu Nian checked the rain and saw that it had lessened considerably compared to before.

It was almost 5 p.m., and Su Ke should be finishing get out of class soon. She still needed to call and order takeout.

With that in mind, she picked up her phone and started operating it.

The boy had already dried his hair. After unplugging the hairdryer, he looked at Liu Nian and asked, "Where should we put this?"

Liu Nian pointed to the counter: "Put it there for now. There's a towel on the chair. Wipe the water off your clothes." After a pause, she added, "You can use a hairdryer to dry your clothes first! They'll probably be dry by the time the rain stops."

The boy shook his head: "No need for that trouble, but thank you anyway. I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Yu Zhinian, and I'm a third-year student at B University. What's your name?"

Liu Nian felt that his name sounded familiar, but she couldn't remember it, so she stopped thinking about it.

"My name is Liunian, I'm older than you, and I'm no longer in school."

Yu Zhinian paused, looking at her delicate face, which was without makeup and looked very beautiful. If she hadn't said she was older than him, he would have thought she was younger than him.

"Do you own this flower shop?"

Liu Nian nodded. "Yes."

Because of the rain, there were basically no customers.

While chatting casually with Yu Zhinian, Liu Nian learned that he was a third-year computer science student at B University. He had no classes in the afternoon, so he went out for a walk after playing basketball with some classmates. Later, he had something to do and encountered rain on his way back to school, which led him to Liu Nian's flower shop by chance.
