Chapter 96 The Wife Manages the Money

"So Su Su, is the story you're telling me your story?" Liu Nian's curious tone made Su Ke's expression darken.

He thought that Liu Nian understood the story he was telling, but it turned out that she didn't.

Never mind, he won't dwell on it anymore.

"No, I was just asking."

That evening, Su Ke was in his study reviewing case files, preparing for the court hearing the following day.

Meanwhile, time is taking a bath.

She was pondering Su Ke's meaning.

At this moment, the system, which had been silent for a long time, suddenly spoke.

System: "Host, long time no see. Have you encountered anything unpleasant lately?"

Liu Nian suddenly opened his eyes.

Liu Nian: "You've come at the perfect time; I just happened to have something on my mind."

System: "What is it that requires our analysis?"

Liu Nian: "Check if there's anything wrong with the male lead!"

System: "Detecting, host, we have detected an aura emanating from the male protagonist that is very strange."

Liu Nian had already noticed it and didn't find it strange. Now was the perfect time to tell the system her guess.

“I suspect he carries memories of his past life. Your arrival is just in time. I’ll spend some points to see what happened in his previous life.”

Without hesitation, the system automatically consumed Liu Nian's points.

System: "Points successfully spent, memory transfer will be completed shortly."

Liu Nian squinted.

As those bizarre and fantastical images flashed through her mind, they were continuously fed to her.

In my mind, the first image that comes to mind is a slightly immature Su Ke.

His cool and aloof expression remained unchanged in the video.

He seemed to be participating in some kind of competition, and he was writing furiously with great concentration.

The scene flashes again, and he is standing on the podium, giving his acceptance speech, while a group of students cheer for him below the stage.

Then a beautiful woman carrying a bouquet of baby's breath walked towards Su Ke on the stage.

Liu Nian was startled.

Good heavens, the face on her back is still hers, but this woman isn't her.

She then saw Su Ke embracing a woman on stage and taking pictures.

The screen flashed again.

Su Ke entered university.

His life was peaceful at first, going back and forth between home and work every day.

The screen flashed by rapidly, and Liu Nian watched intently.

From Su Ke and his classmates, to a girl who appeared in his life, and then Su Ke entering the workforce.

He rose through the ranks, yet lived a very lonely life.

Liu Nian was a little confused when she saw this; she didn't understand it.

"System, is this complete?"

System: "This is the male protagonist's perspective, the complete one."

I understand now.

Su Ke in the picture has already entered the workplace.

But he was always alone by his side. He would wake up in the middle of the night, and then he couldn't fall back asleep. He didn't know what he was dreaming about.

A man sat alone in a quiet room, surrounded by darkness, his expression forlorn.

Liu Nian's heart suddenly clenched, and a slight ache rose in her chest.

Why is it that Su Ke, despite being alive and successful, lives as if he has nothing at all?

What is he missing!

The images flashed repeatedly, all from Su Ke's perspective, which Liu Nian watched one by one.

I feel that apart from life being somewhat mundane, there haven't been any major ups and downs.

But what happened next left Liu Nian completely stunned.

The scene is in a morgue, and lying on the bed is a corpse, a corpse that is not intact except for its face.

And that face, Liu Nian knew it all too well, it was her, or more accurately, it was her face but not her.

She watched as Su Ke grieved terribly over the corpse.

He was initially incredulous, but eventually accepted it, and the pain spread throughout his body.

The screen flashed again.

It was late at night.

The room was brightly lit.

Su Ke sat on the ground with a pained expression, seemingly lost in thought about something unbelievable. He was overwhelmed with sadness, pain, and regret.

He clutched his chest and muttered something to himself. Because there was no sound on the screen, Liu Nian couldn't hear him at all; he was watching it like a silent play.

Then the screen flashed again.

Su Ke seemed to have gone mad, painting day and night. At first, his paintings were a mess, but later they became quite decent, and eventually, the figures in his portraits came to life.

Those portraits were like his treasures. Every time he painted one, he would gaze at it intently, his eyes filled with love that he could not hide.

So obvious.

Later, he made the portrait public.

Watching the years pass, I observed the changes in his expression, from full of expectation to disappointment, and then to compromise.

These are things that should not happen to a criminal lawyer.

That's when the scene ended.

Time flies by, seemingly in a daze.

System: "Host, would you like to spend more points to view a third-person perspective?"

Liu Nian: "Mm."

If she doesn't figure this out, her mission will truly be shrouded in mystery.

System: "Points successfully spent."

The image was inputted into my mind again.

Liu Nian watched the scene from a third-person perspective.

The woman with her face appeared at the same time as the world disintegrated after she left.

She was by Su Ke's side, and her habits were just like Liu Nian's, in no way inferior to her.

She lived with Su Ke, and then one day, she came out of a store with great interest.

A pickup truck carrying glass panels was coming towards us.

A child was crossing the road directly in front of the pickup truck.

The woman could have avoided the accident, but seeing the child in danger, she risked her own life to save him.
