Chapter 5: The Gluttonous Cyclops

When she saw Mingyue coming out, the Cyclops immediately became happy. She opened a giant sack beside her and pushed the things inside in front of Mingyue.

“Food!”

There are all kinds of monsters in the sack, including a long-eared sheep with spiral horns, a bird with three heads, a donkey with six legs, and so on.

Cyclops' philosophy of life is very simple: eat when you want to eat, sleep when you want to sleep.

So if she wants to eat delicious food, Mingyue should make it for her.

Ever since she was attracted by Mingyue's delicious food, she often appeared near the inn and asked Mingyue to make delicious food. Fortunately, the Cyclops would not come empty-handed, and would bring enough prey every time. After she was full, she would leave the rest to Mingyue, which made the freezer made by Mingyue with magic full.

Although Mingyue has no way to deal with the Cyclops who does whatever he wants, she does not hate him. This is hell, and human rules do not apply, so she plans to try to find a way to get along with the Cyclops and make him abide by some "chef" rules.

When the Cyclops came uninvited again and reached out to grab the meat on the grill, Mingyue gently stopped her: "My giant friend, I'm glad you like my cooking, but we need some rules so that I can continue to cook for you. Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Mingyue, what's yours?"

The Cyclops frowned, she didn't understand why there had to be rules, she was used to getting her way.

Mingyue patiently explained: "If you want to keep eating such delicious food, you need to learn to respect me, so that we can live in harmony."

Although Cyclops didn't quite understand the meaning of "respect", she was willing to try it for the sake of delicious food.

So she said, "Alros."

Mingyue began to teach Alros little by little, starting from the simplest "please" and "thank you", to waiting for the food to be prepared before eating, and then to cooking only during meal times.

Every time Alros made a small change, Mingyue would praise her and prepare a special snack or treat for her as a reward.

As time went by, Alros began to learn to control her impulses. She learned to wait patiently while Mingyue cooked and learned to say "thank you" after eating. She gradually understood what meal times were. Mingyue would only cook during meal times because she was busy with other things at other times. She could not interrupt what Mingyue was doing, which would not be good.

Of course, it doesn’t matter if Alros gets hungry outside of meals. Mingyue has prepared a big snack bag for her, which is filled with various dried meats, crackers, etc. Alros can take out food from it to fill her stomach at any time.

Gradually, Mingyue discovered that the well-fed Cyclops was particularly easy to talk to. She also learned to help Mingyue. After seeing Mingyue use construction magic to build a house, she ran to a faraway place to fetch stones for Mingyue and built the prototype of a house at night.

Alros knew that many people hated her, but she didn't care. After all, disgust was a very common emotion in hell, and all creatures in hell hated each other.

Until one day, she was drawn in by a fragrant aroma and ate the other person's food. She knew he would hate her, but she didn't care. Isn't hell a place where whoever has the bigger fist has the final say? Unfortunately, the dish this person made was too small, not enough to fill the gaps between their teeth. Could it be that they didn't have enough ingredients?

Alros was a good hunter. In order to get the man to cook more, she brought the monsters she had killed to him. Alros decided that if the other party refused, she would kidnap the person, lock him up and cook for her every day.

However, she didn't expect that the other party was not annoyed with her. Instead, he said to her with shining eyes, "Do you want to be friends with me?"

Alros was used to malice and was a little overwhelmed by friendliness.

So, for the first time, Alros changed something because of her.

---------------

Mingyue doesn't hate the Cyclops' behavior because it's like when you are eating at an outdoor restaurant on the savannah and a giraffe comes over and eats the fruit on your table, or when a seagull steals your French fries at the dock, or when a red panda rummages through your bag for an apple, or when a stray cat takes a piece of meat from your table.

Would you be disgusted by the behavior of these animals? Probably not, because animals are governed by different laws than humans, and the same is true in hell.
