Chapter 13: The Whole Family Rushes to Buy Her Clothes
She withdrew her hand, looked up at Wang Shufen, and asked.
"Auntie, does Grandpa Lu know that you introduced me to someone?"
Wang Shufen gave her a look as if she were an idiot, and glared at her reproachfully, "You silly girl, can we let the old man know about this?"
"The old man is getting old and confused. He only cares about getting his grandson out of the single life, regardless of whether you want to or not. I'm a kind-hearted auntie, so I'm secretly giving you a heads-up. I want to help you out, but you absolutely mustn't betray me, understand?"
Bai Zhi smiled sweetly, "I understand, Auntie."

Lu Shan seemed very anxious, constantly checking her watch.

Wang Shufen bit her red lips and muttered, "Dad, you've mentioned it a hundred times already."
"Then how can you look down on children from the countryside? Xiaozhi is no ordinary person; she is the granddaughter of our family's savior."
"Look at the clothes you bought for her!" Old Master Lu said sternly, his face contorted with anger. "These clothes would be too tacky for you and Xie Yun to wear."
Wang Shufen gritted her teeth and glared at the seemingly innocent girl, explaining, "That's what Bai Zhi herself said she was satisfied with."
No wonder that brat did whatever she said the whole way; she was waiting for this.
Mr. Lu did not accept Wang Shufen's explanation.
"She's never seen the world, and neither have you? You took her out just to see her make a fool of herself?"
Lu Zheng'an and the others also looked very grim.
After all, Bai Zhi is still nominally Lu Ye's fiancée, and Wang Shufen's treatment of Bai Zhi is a slap in their face.
