Chapter 3 Chapter 3: Dislike of Each Other

Chapter 3 Chapter 3: Dislike of Each Other

==Chapter 3==

"You are ill."

Gu Yushi repeated it a second time, as if to say that what she said was nonsense.

He stretched out his hand and placed it forcefully on her face, feeling the heat coming from beneath her skin.

She is really sick.

This realization made his heart suddenly shrink.

A feeling of powerlessness filled Feng Wenyu's whole body. He was always like this, talking to himself and completely ignoring her emotions.

She wasn't making a fuss.

Why never take her demands seriously?

Feng Wenyu's face flushed red with emotion. She pushed Gu Yushi's hand away fiercely. She was no longer quiet. She cried and said:

"Will you listen to me?"

"I say, divorce!"

She's had enough.

She wants a divorce!

This sound seemed to have drained all her strength. She suddenly fell on the bed, her face extremely flushed. She was breathing rapidly, one hand tightly clenched on her chest, as if there was endless pain coming from there.

She was determined to leave no room for herself.

Everyone could see her seriousness.

Then, Gu Yushi's eyes gradually turned colder, and he stood up straight:

"Divorce?"

His tone was calm, as if stating a fact: "No one would agree."

"I won't."

"Neither will the Feng family."

He said, "Feng Wenyu, give up on this idea."

In this life, she will only be Gu's wife and his wife.

The promise made when getting married to stay together for life is something that no one can break.

Feng Wenyu looked at him in a daze.

Yes, he now has the emperor's trust and holds great power. He is no longer the top student in junior high school.

But Feng Wenyu still hadn't thought that he would use the Feng family to threaten her.

His breath was still hot, but his whole body was surrounded by a coldness that seeped into his bones and blood.

Someone tucked in the quilt for her, but Feng Wenyu felt as if a thin film had blocked out all her senses. She vaguely heard Gu Yushi's chilling voice: "...Take my token and ask Imperial Physician Li to come to the mansion."

Feng Wenyu wanted to make a sound and reject everything Gu Yushi did, but it was all in vain and his consciousness fell into complete darkness.

Gu Yushi noticed the unconscious person on the bed. His voice stopped for a moment. He stood beside the bed like a silent stone sculpture. As the setting sun outside changed, the shadow under his feet also twisted and stretched taller, shouting something, but in the end he just remained silent.

After a long time, he stretched out his hand, stiffly and stubbornly, and wiped away the cold sweat from Feng Wenyu's forehead bit by bit.

Doctor Li is here.

The results were no different from those of the previous doctor.

Doctor Li sighed and said, "Master Gu, your wife must remain calm and composed. Otherwise, even if the high fever subsides, it will eventually damage her health."

Gu Yushi still looked at Feng Wenyu. No one could make him look away. His voice was cold and hard, just like him:

"Mu Fan, send Doctor Li."

The night outside was getting darker and darker, and the candlelight inside was getting dimmer, making people's shadows longer and longer.

Gu Yushi's gaze enveloped Feng Wenyu, and the emotions in his eyes were dark and unclear.

Depression in the heart will drag down the body.

Gu Yushi pursed his lips. He stroked the woman's cheek with his fingers, forcibly trying to smooth out the wrinkles between her brows. His tone was filled with emotion, perhaps mixed with a hint of sarcasm:

"What exactly are you dissatisfied with?"

His eyes grew colder, perhaps with other emotions, but they were buried deep within him. He looked down at the person on the bed, as if to say to her, "I will not agree to a divorce."

He won't let her go.

He sat by the bed all night until dawn.

******

When Feng Wenyu woke up again, Gu Yushi was no longer by her bedside. Only Jinshu was changing the silk scarf on her forehead.

The wet silk towel was cool, but she still felt a burning sensation all over her body, and breathing was uncomfortable. She gasped with difficulty. She was not surprised by the scene in the room, nor did she ask where Gu Yushi had gone.

It's nothing more than being busy with official business outside.

Yesterday's conversation still echoed in her ears, like a chill enveloping her entire body. She called out weakly:

"Brocade Book..."

Jinshu was surprised to see her wake up and wiped the tears from her face: "Madam, you finally woke up."

The medicine prepared at noon could not be fed in, and I don’t know how the master fed the medicine to the lady last night and this morning.

Jinshu hurriedly brought the medicine and helped Feng Wenyu up, her tone still revealing a hint of worry and anxiety: "Madam, drink the medicine while it's hot."

Feng Wenyu's whole body was as soft as mud, leaning in Jinshu's arms. Her mind was still a little unclear. She swallowed the medicine without knowing the taste. The bitterness seemed to be covered by a layer. Sweat broke out on her forehead and neck. She turned her face to the side uncomfortably, and tears unconsciously welled up in the corners of her eyes.

"Lunch has been delivered from the kitchen. Please have a bite, Madam."

After waiting for a long time without receiving a response, Jinshu looked down and saw the lady leaning against her in a daze, as if she had been burned out. Jinshu was frightened to death:

"Shuyao! Shuyao!"

forecourt.

Gu Yushi sat at his desk, the files he had brought back placed before him. He handled his official duties as usual, except that the files had not been changed from beginning to end, until Mu Fan pushed the door open and came in:

"Master, someone has been sent from the Dali Temple."

Gu Yushi didn't even raise his head: "Let someone in."

Mu Fan led his men in and heard the master's voice discussing serious matters. He hurriedly closed the door and asked someone to bring tea.

As soon as the servant left, Mu Fan heard hurried footsteps outside. He turned around and saw Shu Yao with tears streaming down her face:

"Master! Master! Madam is in trouble!"

Mu Fan's scalp tingled. He knew that they were discussing serious matters inside, and he was also aware of his wife's situation. He didn't dare to let Shuyao pass, nor did he dare to stop Shuyao. He could only say, "Master, there are guests inside!"

Shuyao clutched Mu Fan's sleeve, crying breathlessly, and pointed in the direction of the main courtyard: "Madam...Madam is unconscious!"

Mu Fan was startled and subconsciously looked towards the study.

The people inside had obviously heard this conversation. The door was pushed open from the inside, and Gu Yushi stepped out with a sullen expression, followed by a man in official uniform. The man looked confused, but he could tell that something had happened in the mansion, so he immediately bowed and said,

"I have matters to attend to at home, so I will not disturb you any further. I hope you will come to the Dali Temple tomorrow to discuss the details."

Gu Yushi didn't stop anyone from leaving. He walked quickly towards the main courtyard and said, "Go get the imperial physician."

The main courtyard was in chaos. Doctor Li arrived in a hurry, but he had no other choice but to give the patient a dose of strong medicine. Strong medicine is harmful to the body, but in this situation, if he didn't give the patient the medicine, he might even lose his life.

Before leaving, Doctor Li saw Gu Yushi standing in front of the bed and shook his head silently.

Every family has its own problems.

It seems that things are not all clear in the Gu Mansion.

Feng Wenyu only felt that there was a lot of noise around her, and something was forced into her mouth. The taste was so bitter that it made her feel nauseous. She felt so uncomfortable that she wanted to cry. She wanted to raise her hands, but it felt like a mountain was pressing on her. After an unknown amount of time, the heavy mountain gradually lightened, and she was finally able to open her eyes.

What caught my eye was the darkness outside, and Gu Yushi standing in front of the bed, half of his body hidden in the shadows.

She had been unconscious for a long time, her voice still hoarse: "You...why are you here?"

When Gu Yushi heard this, he stepped out from the shadows and asked in an ambiguous tone:

"Where else would I be?"

It was late at night and everyone was asleep, so he should have been here.

Feng Wenyu closed her eyes tiredly. Her illness consumed all her energy. She didn't want to argue with him. She calmed down and turned her back to Gu Yu with difficulty.

She hugged herself and curled up in the quilt. Her thin back could not support the loose undergarments, making her look even thinner.

Gu Yushi stared at the scene in a daze and fell silent.

Was she this thin before?

Feng Wenyu didn't know what medicine the imperial physician prescribed for her, but she could clearly feel the sweat pouring out of her body, and her body seemed to become a little more relaxed. She turned her back to the crowd, and she didn't know when the lights in the room dimmed, and then someone lay down behind her.

Feng Wenyu's whole body stiffened.

She turned around quickly, her tone shocked and hurried: "...You, ahem...what are you doing!"

Feng Wenyu found it hard to understand how he could lie beside her as if it was his right after their quarrel yesterday.

Feng Wenyu didn't know what emotions were in her mind. She tried her best to push him away, but her strength was in vain. Gu Yushi closed his eyes, not even looking at her, and said in a cold tone:

"I'm right here."

Her emotions were surging, and she was sweating all over. She felt a little uncomfortable again.

She moved and tried to get up.

Her wrist was suddenly grabbed by someone, and someone looked at her in the dim room without missing a beat: "What are you doing?"

Feng Wenyu didn't want to talk to him, and simply said four words:

"It's none of your business."

However, Gu Yushi was more resolute than her: "Lie down."

Feng Wenyu didn't like his toughness. Yesterday's conversation was still echoing in her mind. She didn't want to sleep in the same bed with him. She pulled her hand away but couldn't. She could only support her body with one hand. She was helpless and whispered, "Let go!"

Gu Yushi could see her pale face clearly in the faint moonlight.

He hadn't slept the whole night before, and was troubled by inexplicable emotions in his heart, so he was now extremely tired.

When Feng Wenyu struggled again, he couldn't help but look up at Feng Wenyu:

"Feng Wenyu."

He said, "Can you please stop making trouble?"

The air suddenly became quiet.

Feng Wenyu froze in place. Gu Yushi's voice reached her ears clearly. A chill swept through her body, causing her fingers to tremble unconsciously.

He told her to stop making trouble again.

It seemed as if no matter what she did, it was just nonsense in his eyes.

She twitched her lips in self-mockery:

"...Gu Yushi, in your eyes, am I such a mischievous person?"

Gu Yushi just looked at her calmly.

This silence almost suffocated her, she could hardly breathe. When people are sad, they want their words to turn into needles:

"Since we're tired of each other, why don't you let me go?"

She was questioning him.

Gu Yushi wanted to taunt her, but her face was so pale that it seemed to melt into the moonlight, so he could only say calmly:

"You should rest."
