Chapter 109 Little Beauty (2/2)

He paused deliberately, then winked. "The rules of the game, everyone knows that, right? Give them some face."

Fang Wenjun tightened her grip on the cup, and she suddenly looked up at Li Jinfu's oily face, her eyes filled with undisguised contempt and disgust.

It's the same old routine again!

She knew all too well what it meant to accompany someone for drinks and talk about the roles behind them.

This group of people may have talent, but their inherent filth and arrogance in treating women as playthings have remained unchanged for decades.

She felt a churning in her stomach, and looking at the faces of these people in front of her, she couldn't bear to stay a moment longer.

Just then, Li Mo, who had drunk too much, didn't understand what Li Jinfu meant. He started muttering to himself again, expressing his dissatisfaction with a certain investor for trying to force someone into his position.

"Director Li."

Fang Wenjun's voice wasn't loud, but it interrupted Li Mo's rambling.

She stood up, deftly picked up her coat from the back of the chair, her face expressionless.

"You've had too much to drink. We need to inspect the venue tomorrow morning."

"I happen to be going that way, let me give you a ride home."

Li Mo looked up blankly: "Huh? Lao Fang, we're leaving already?"

Li Jinfu's smile froze for a moment, a hint of displeasure flashing in his eyes, but he quickly put on a smile again: "Oh, yes, what time is it? Sit a little longer!"

"When the young lady from the Shen family arrives later, it will be a good opportunity to get to know her."

“No need,” Fang Wenjun interrupted him, her tone resolute and carrying the aloofness of an intellectual.

"There are still some details in the script that I need to go back and reconsider."

"Director Li, let's go."

Without a word, she helped the drunk and somewhat unwilling Li Mo to his feet and half-dragged him out.

The door to the private room opened and closed, taking away the only woman, as well as Li Mo, the potentially troublesome drunkard.

Li Jinfu looked at the closed door, chuckled, slowly lit a cigar, and said to Wang Hai and the other people in the circle beside him:

"Tsk, Lao Fang is just too aloof and inflexible."

"Alright, it's good to have one less bookworm, it'll be more peaceful."

"Just wait, the Shen family's little beauty should be here soon."

He squinted, a look of anticipation spreading across his greasy face. (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
