The Rolls-Royce drove smoothly into the Gu family manor.
Gu Chengyu walked into the living room, feeling somewhat irritated.
After all, his mother rarely used such a stern tone to tell him to come home immediately.
Seeing her son enter, Madam Gu raised her hand to gesture for him to sit down.
She didn't beat around the bush; she picked up her phone from the coffee table next to her, tapped the screen a few times, and then turned the screen towards Gu Chengyu.
The screen displays a clear screenshot of a bank statement.
Transferor: Gu Chengyu. Recipient: Su Qianqian.
Amount: It's that long string of glaring zeros.
“Chengyu”.
Madam Gu's voice betrayed little emotion: "Explain?"
Gu Chengyu's gaze lingered on the string of numbers for a moment, his expression unchanged, even showing a hint of nonchalance.
He sat gracefully on the single sofa opposite his mother, his long legs crossed, his posture arrogant and his imposing manner undiminished.
"There's nothing to explain, Mom."
"I can give my money to whomever I want."
His tone was flat and matter-of-fact.
Madam Gu was taken aback by his nonchalant attitude.
He then tapped his finger on the edge of the tablet, emphasizing his words: "Ten billion!"
“Gu Chengyu, this isn’t just a hundred yuan. Even if it’s your private property, it’s still a considerable sum.”
"You're giving it to some unknown, unknown artist?"
"She's only eighteen years old and hasn't given the Gu family a single child. Why should she take so much money from the Gu family?"
"You should know that the combined net profit of all the Gu Group's businesses over three days is only this much!"
She took a deep breath, trying to suppress her anger:
“Your dad found this large transaction record. Although he didn’t say anything, his expression was not good. He forwarded it to me immediately.”
Gu Chengyu raised an eyebrow. Sure enough.
He knew that his mother never cared about these things; only his father had the habit of checking the accounts regularly.
Gu Chengyu's lips curled into a slightly mocking smile:
"Mom, have you forgotten that the new empire that the Gu Group has expanded into over the years, including the internet, cutting-edge technology, and gaming platforms... these most profitable sectors, were all spearheaded and controlled by me?"
"This 10 billion is not even a fraction of what I have in my personal account, and it won't shake the Gu family's foundation in the slightest."
"As for my dad? He just needs to take care of his own business outside."
The arrogance in his tone and the subtle disdain for his father made Madam Gu frown even more.
She knew her son had the right to be arrogant, but this attitude was far too disrespectful.
She suppressed her displeasure and steered the conversation back to the core issue:
“Although this amount of money is not something we need to go to great lengths to deal with, your father and I probably share the same concerns.”
“Chengyu, I won’t interfere with whether you use this money to eat, drink, have fun, buy yachts or planes, or invest it.”
"But what do you mean by transferring it to a woman?"
Before Gu Chengyu could answer, Madam Gu spoke again:
“I checked this Su Qianqian. The internet is full of rumors about you and that Lin Shu. She has nothing to do with it.”
