Su Qianqian was taken aback, somewhat puzzled as to why Chen Nian'an's harshness that day had completely disappeared, and why she was pretending not to know him.
Before she could answer, Gu Chengyu spoke first, his tone indifferent: "Eat your breakfast, don't ask so many questions."
Shen Nian'an's expression stiffened for a moment, but she quickly recovered and poured herself a glass of juice: "Say hello, Cheng Yu is so protective of you."
The atmosphere at the dinner table was subtle.
Qin Yu tried to smooth things over by forking a piece of pineapple bun and handing it to Shen Nian'an: "Try this, it's good."
Shen Nian'an smiled and accepted the gift, still trying to get closer to Su Qianqian: "Miss Su, what are your hobbies? Shopping? Drinking tea? Or..."
Gu Chengyu put down his chopsticks, making a soft sound.
He turned to look at Shen Nian'an, his voice not loud, but it silenced the entire table: "What hobbies does she need to report to you?"
Shen Nian'an's face paled, and she gripped the cup tightly with her fingers.
Shen Que chuckled and nudged Gu Chengyu's shoe: "Alright, Nian'an was just asking out of curiosity. Don't be so fierce and scare your partner."
Gu Chengyu didn't reply, but instead asked Su Qianqian, "Do you want more shrimp dumplings?"
The little girl gently shook her head.
He frowned slightly. "Eating so little?"
He picked up another shrimp dumpling and began to coax her, "Eat one more."
Under everyone's watchful eyes, Su Qianqian no longer refused and took a small bite with his chopsticks.
Shen Que's eyes darkened, and he smiled as he looked away.
Shen Nian'an lowered his head and ate his food, not daring to say anything more.
Qin Yu smiled and asked, "Does Qianqian have any filming plans recently?"
Su Qianqian swallowed her food and replied softly, "I want to rest for a while first."
Qin Yu nodded: "Get some rest. Let Cheng Yu show you around. Nanwan Golf Course is nice. How about we try it this afternoon?"
Gu Chengyu watched the little girl eat as he spoke, "She's afraid of getting sunburned."
Shen Que suddenly laughed out loud: "Cheng Yu, you're really something now, so considerate that I don't even recognize you."
Gu Chengyu looked up at him: "What, are you envious?"
"Pshaw, who's envious?"
Chen Que drew out his words, but his gaze swept over Su Qianqian's small face.
The sea breeze ruffled the stray hairs at her temples, and Gu Chengyu casually tucked them behind her ears.
She looked up at him and smiled, her eyes crinkling at the corners, a look that was both innocent and alluring.
There was a moment of silence at the table.
