He carefully checked his pupils, took his temperature, and listened to his heartbeat, beads of sweat forming on his forehead.
The young master Gu stood by the bed, his tall figure casting an oppressive shadow. His brows were tightly furrowed, and his gaze never left the person on the bed.
The doctor's hands trembled slightly. He had seen too many powerful and wealthy people, many of whom were discarded once they were bored, or who were only pampered for a few days on a whim.
But the expression on the man's face didn't seem like he was just playing around. His aura was so intense that even the man's hands were trembling.
"How is it?" Gu Chengyu asked, his voice low and hoarse.
The doctor put away his stethoscope and said cautiously, "Miss Su's constitution is weaker than average. She seems to have overworked herself yesterday and caught a chill. Today, the wind is strong at sea, and being exposed to it for too long caused her dizziness and weakness."
Gu Chengyu's jawline was taut.
Yes.
Yesterday at the hot springs, he didn't know when to stop and kept bothering her for a long time.
Today, he was itching to take a yacht out to sea again, and on a whim, he insisted on taking her out to sea.
Even though he knew she was delicate, he still failed to protect her.
He clenched his fist, feeling intensely guilty and heartbroken: "Is it serious?"
The doctor quickly replied, "It's not serious for now."
"Taking the medicine and getting a good night's sleep will relieve the symptoms."
"But you must take good care of yourself in the future, avoid getting tired or cold, and avoid extreme emotional fluctuations."
Gu Chengyu nodded, "Okay, I'll have Zhou Yu'an contact you later."
"Please compile a detailed report of today's diagnosis results and send it to his hospital."
The doctor didn't dare ask any more questions and repeatedly replied, "Don't worry, I will do my best."
He quickly rummaged through his first-aid kit for the pills he always kept on hand.
The person in charge quickly handed over some warm water.
Gu Chengyu accepted them all and waved for them to leave.
The bedroom became quiet.
He helped Su Qianqian up and let her lean against him: "Qianqian, take your medicine."
She groggily opened her eyes, swallowed the medicine from his hand, and accidentally bit it, her little face scrunching up: "So bitter..."
He immediately put warm water in her mouth: "Don't bite it, just drink the water and swallow it."
She took a sip of water from his hand and drank half a glass to suppress the bitterness in her mouth.
She then curled up in bed, but her fingers still held his large hand.
Gu Chengyu looked down at her slender white fingers, a bittersweet feeling welling up inside him.
He slowly sat down on the edge of the bed, took her slightly cool hand, and pressed it against his cheek.
"I'm sorry, Qianqian," he said softly.
"It will never happen again." This chapter has been read (please click to continue reading the next chapter!).
