Chapter 195 He Regretted It (1/2)

On the way back, we got closer and closer to the Genting Apartments.

Silence filled the carriage.

Su Qianqian stopped crying. She just turned her head to look out the window, her profile appearing unusually pale and quiet in the flickering light and shadow.

Gu Chengyu gripped the steering wheel tightly, his knuckles digging into it, the veins on his wrists bulging.

He tried to speak several times, but his gaze swept over her fragile profile, and her appearance silenced him.

He had never seen Su Qianqian like this before.

It wasn't being coquettish or throwing a tantrum; it was a detached indifference.

This made him more anxious than any noise.

The car accelerated involuntarily, almost crashing into the underground parking garage of the Genting Apartments.

As soon as the car came to a stop, Gu Chengyu unbuckled his seatbelt and got out of the car almost impatiently, carrying her out of the car.

Su Qianqian didn't struggle, nor did she even glance at him, letting him hold her like a delicate doll without a soul.

This kind of compliance made him more anxious than resistance.

He strode into the apartment, kicked the door shut, walked straight to the sofa in the living room, and gently placed her inside. He then pressed his body down, trapping her on either side of her, his almond-shaped eyes fixed on her.

"Speak!" he said, his voice laced with barely suppressed impatience.

"Su Qianqian, tell me, what's wrong with you?"

Su Qianqian finally raised her eyelashes, her beautiful almond-shaped eyes filled with tears, yet strangely empty.

She looked at him, but it didn't seem like she was really looking at him; a tear silently slid down her beautiful eyes.

This made Gu Chengyu's heart skip a beat.

His tone softened slightly, becoming coaxing, as he wiped her tears with his fingertips: "If you're jealous, you can tell me."

"If you just say the word, I'm willing not to marry anyone else."

For Gu Chengyu to say these words was already a huge concession.

He waited to see her reaction, even if it was just the slightest sign of relenting.

However, Su Qianqian only blinked slightly and remained silent.

This silence ignited a nameless fire within Gu Chengyu.

Gu Chengyu pinched her chin, forcing her to raise her head.

"Speak! Su Qianqian!"

"Just tell me you're jealous."

"If you say so, I'm willing not to marry anyone else."

"Is it so hard to just coax me?"

These words slipped out of his mouth, and even he was stunned for a moment. It was truly a fucking embarrassment.

He unconsciously increased the pressure on her chin.

Su Qianqian frowned in pain, finally showing some reaction, but only her tears flowed even more profusely, making her look extremely fragile.

Seeing her like this, Gu Chengyu let go of her hand again, feeling both annoyed and at a loss.

He really had no way to deal with her.
