She's the first person to get this excited over a minor supporting role.
"Alright, alright, your first step depends on yourself."
He chuckled softly, his tone indulgent, and tightened his grip on her slender waist, drawing her closer to him. "So, my little actress, what are your next steps? Hmm?"
Su Qianqian blushed slightly at his question, only then remembering her real purpose for rushing over.
She immediately grabbed his arm and shook it slightly, but he was holding her too tightly and she couldn't shake him.
She gave up, then tilted her head back, her big, watery eyes full of expectation and coaxing: "Young Master Gu, um... the director said my dancing wasn't good enough, my movements weren't quite right, and that just relying on my charisma isn't enough..."
"He gave me a month to practice dancing..."
She paused, her voice becoming softer and sweeter: "I want to hire a dance teacher, a really good classical dance teacher... Young Master Gu, please..."
Gu Chengyu was absolutely charmed by her soft, coquettish way of begging for a dance teacher.
He couldn't help but chuckle, his chest heaving as he let out a soft, pleased laugh.
"That's it?" He pinched her chin and shook it.
"Is a mere courtesan in a two-act play worth all this trouble? And you even need to hire such a renowned teacher?"
He teased her on purpose, "Your boyfriend can just give a few orders and there are plenty of top-notch dance doubles waiting to be used. Why do you have to go through all the trouble of practicing yourself?"
"No stand-in!" Su Qianqian immediately shook her head, her little face full of determination.
"I want to jump myself!"
"The director said that shot was going to be a close-up. He wanted to capture the look and feeling in the eyes. No matter how well the stunt double dances, the look in their eyes won't be the same. I have to act it out myself!"
As she spoke, she shook his arm again, her voice so sweet it could drip honey, "Please... Young Master Gu... please help me find a tutor... please..."
She whined and looked at him with her clear, innocent, and expectant almond-shaped eyes, like a kitten trying to please its owner, making it impossible for anyone to refuse her.
Gu Chengyu's heart melted at her swaying, and his teasing intentions vanished.
He lowered his head and gave her a loud kiss on the smooth forehead.
"OK!"
He readily agreed, his tone filled with a doting indulgence, "It's just a dance teacher, right? I'll get you the best tomorrow. Top-notch domestic ones, is that enough? If not, we'll hire someone from abroad."
Su Qianqian's eyes instantly curved into crescent moons, and she happily tiptoed to peck him on his cold, hard chin: "Thank you, Young Master Gu! You're the best!"
"but……"
Gu Chengyu tightened his grip around her waist, preventing her from pulling away. His deep phoenix eyes held a hint of intimacy as he lowered his head to her fair face, his voice low, "A simple thank you isn't enough."
"My little courtesan, how do you plan to... properly thank me, hmm?"
Su Qianqian was so embarrassed that even her small earlobes turned pink.
She understood the implication in his words, and shyly tried to bury her face in his chest, but he mischievously lifted her chin.
Looking at the person in his arms, so shy and soft, letting him take advantage of her, Gu Chengyu's smile deepened.
A minor supporting role in a two-act play?
He suddenly realized that it seemed quite interesting.
At least, it allowed him to see his little girl—so vibrant, so hardworking, so adorable. (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
