Chapter 44 Acting Cute 2 (2/3)

"Little liar."

Gu Chengyu chuckled and pinched the tip of her pert nose. "After all that buildup, what are you trying to say? Hmm? The real intention is finally revealed?"

Su Qianqian's face turned even redder, like a pink peach.

She hesitated for a moment, her small hand tugging at his shirt cuff, her voice soft and sweet, with a hint of probing: "Um... Mr. Gu, are you busy tomorrow afternoon?"

Gu Chengyu raised an eyebrow, waiting for her to continue.

"That's right, tomorrow afternoon, I'm going to film the courtesan's entrance dance..."

Her voice trailed off as she spoke, but her eyes gleamed as she stole glances at him. "Would you like to come and take a look?"

After she finished speaking, she immediately added, "It'll only be a little while! I'll leave right after I'm done! It won't take up much of your time! Really! I promise!"

She tilted her little face up and looked at him expectantly, her clear almond-shaped eyes filled with anticipation and nervousness.

Gu Chengyu's heart began to flutter again, feeling incredibly soft.

He had already canceled all his plans for tomorrow afternoon.

How could he possibly miss out on his little girl's first role?

But seeing her nervous and expectant little face, Gu Chengyu's mischievous teasing thoughts resurfaced.

He deliberately frowned, a hint of difficulty on his face, and his voice carried a touch of regret: "Tomorrow afternoon..."

He drawled out his words, watching the light in the girl's eyes dim and her lips unconsciously purse slightly, before slowly continuing, "It seems... there's a rather important international conference..."

The light in Su Qianqian's eyes went out with a snap, her face fell, and the fingers that were gripping his sleeve loosened their hold. Her voice was muffled, tinged with disappointment: "Oh... I see... then forget it..."

She lowered her head, her long eyelashes drooping down, like an eggplant that had been hit by frost.

Gu Chengyu's heart tingled at the sight of that pitiful little face, and he almost couldn't help but burst out laughing.

He suppressed a laugh, reached out and lifted her chin, forcing her to look at him.

The girl's lips were pouting even more; you could hang an oil bottle on them.

“However…” he drawled, looking into those almond-shaped eyes that had regained a glimmer of hope, and said slowly, “It’s not entirely impossible.”

"Really?" Su Qianqian's eyes lit up again.

"Hmm." Gu Chengyu nodded, his thumb stroking her delicate chin, his eyes lingering intimately, his voice low and seductive, "But, my little actress wants to invite me, an important investor, to visit the set, shouldn't... I offer her some benefits?"

Su Qianqian's face flushed red instantly.

Of course she knew what the benefits he was talking about, you scoundrel!

"What benefits?" she asked weakly, feigning ignorance.

Gu Chengyu chuckled softly, tapping his thin lips with his slender fingers, his gaze fixed intently on her, his intentions all too clear.

Su Qianqian glanced at the man's beautifully shaped thin lips quickly, then looked away as if she had been burned.

She bit her lower lip, shaking her head vigorously like a rattle: "No! Tonight... absolutely not tonight!"
