Chapter 49 Morning (1/2)

The next morning.

The housekeeper, Aunt Zhang, had an urgent matter to attend to and called Gu Chengyu's special assistant early in the morning.

Her niece, Xiao Chen, who was quick and efficient and had undergone rigorous domestic service training, was assigned to work a day shift at Genting Apartment.

Xiao Chen, dressed in a neat uniform, stood in the entryway and quietly took a breath.

Even though I had heard my aunt talk about it countless times, when I actually stepped into this legendary top-floor duplex in the Cloud Top, I was still shocked by the overwhelming luxury and spaciousness.

She kept her eyes down, not daring to look around, but she couldn't help but wonder: Goodness, how much is this place worth?

She began working quietly, following the procedures her aunt had instructed her to follow.

The huge living room was spotless, with only the lingering scent of ebony and a faint, sweet warmth in the air. I couldn't tell where it was coming from; it must have been from the bedroom.

She didn't dare to think too much about it and focused on wiping the table.

I had just finished tidying up the living room area when the door to the master bedroom opened.

Gu Chengyu came out.

His white shirt collar was crisp, and he looked tall, noble, and commanding.

His handsome, aggressive face had lost its usual coldness and aloofness, and his eyes and brows revealed a sense of satisfaction and refreshment.

Like a lion after a good meal, lazy yet full of energy.

He walked steadily, and as he passed by Xiao Chen, he casually instructed, "Don't clean the master bedroom yet. Wait until the person inside wakes up and then call you."

"Yes, sir," Xiao Chen quickly replied, bowing his head, his heart pounding.

The person inside? Is she the young lady that auntie said she should be careful to serve?

Gu Chengyu didn't say anything more. He took the file bag handed to him by his assistant and strode away from the apartment.

The assistant took the breakfast box from the chef and followed behind the man.

With the male homeowner gone, Xiao Chen breathed a sigh of relief and began tidying up the other common areas.

The living room, dining room, and study were all exceptionally tidy, requiring minimal work.

Finally, there's the dance studio.

The door to the dance studio was open.

The lights were bright, seemingly because the owner was too busy to care and had kept them on all the time.

The blackout curtains were all drawn tightly.

The first thing that caught Xiao Chen's eye was the thick white carpet that covered the entire room; it was of the highest quality.

Now, it is no longer as clean and smooth as it used to be. It has become messy and wrinkled from being repeatedly crushed, with deep and shallow depressions, silently telling the story of how earnestly and passionately the young lady practiced dancing here last night.

Hmm? Why is there a whole set of smoky-colored silk dress scattered on the carpet? It must have been too hot; that lady probably just tossed it aside after finishing her dance practice.

Actually, it was a last-minute custom order made by Gu Chengyu yesterday, and it's in much better condition than the one on set.

Xiao Chen planned to start cleaning from the side of the dance studio. On the side barre, a light gauze belt of the same color was still stubbornly hanging on the barre at one end, but the other end was hanging down limply and dragging on the carpet.

There was also an even longer, flowing shawl used for dancing, which, along with the smoky-colored outer gauze garment, was carelessly discarded and piled haphazardly on the ground, forming a small hill.
