The crystal chandelier illuminated this place of ultimate luxury and indulgence.
Around the pool table, several young men, cigarettes dangling from their lips, casually struck the balls, their scantily clad female companions nestled beside them.
In several secluded corners, the light and shadows are ambiguous, and the sounds are subdued, inviting contemplation.
The enormous circular sofa could easily accommodate dozens of people, and the central area was filled with an air of sensuality that even perfume couldn't mask.
Chen Que was slumped in the middle of the sofa, with a hot girl on each side of him.
He unbuttoned his shirt further, his large hands on one of the girls, causing her to giggle and snuggle into his arms like a snake.
The other woman, holding a wine glass, tried to feed him wine with seductive eyes.
Qin Yu's side was even more lively.
He was sitting in his lap Xia Wei, a young actress who had become famous for her pure and innocent image.
Xia Wei leaned against his chest, her fair arm encircling his neck, and looked at Zhou Wen, another actress who was nestled on Qin Yu's other side.
The two actresses seemed to be chatting intimately, but their eyes kept glancing towards the entrance of the private room.
"Sister Weiwei, do you think Sister Lin Shu will really come tonight?"
Zhou Wen took a sip of her drink, her voice low but tinged with a hint of excitement at watching a good show.
Xia Wei's lips curled into a mocking smile.
She leaned against Qin Yu's chest, her voice sweet and innocent: "Who knows? Sister Shu has always been proud, it would be difficult for her to bow her head in public, admit her mistakes, and beg for reconciliation."
She paused, then chuckled softly, "But you know, with Young Master Gu's word, who would dare not come? Don't you think so, Young Master Qin?"
She tilted her head back and kissed Qin Yu's chin with her small lips, which were painted with pink lip gloss.
Enjoying the beauty in his arms, Qin Yu pinched Xia Wei's slender waist with his large hand and smiled ambiguously: "Whether she comes or not, I have you guys to play with, isn't that enough?"
"As for Chengyu..."
He glanced at Cheng Yu, who was some distance away, and said with a hint of schadenfreude, "He's here tonight to check the stakes."
"If Lin Shu doesn't come, where will he put his face? Shen Er is eagerly waiting for that lucrative opportunity in Nanwan!"
Their conversation, though inconspicuous in the noisy environment, was overheard by several men and women nearby who had their ears perked up, eliciting tacit chuckles and even more amused glances.
Everyone was waiting to see how Lin Shu, the once most favored canary, would fall from grace.
Gu Chengyu had already had enough and ran from the middle to the far right of the circular sofa, away from that smoky atmosphere.
His posture was languid yet exuded a cold, unapproachable aura. A cigar was held between his fingers, and the smoke curled upwards, blurring his aggressive features and subtly revealing his irritation.
He would have left long ago if it weren't for that damn bet.
Gu Chengyu looked at Shen Que's dissolute behavior, his arms around two women, Qin Yu exchanging glances with the two actresses in his arms, the scattered belts, the crumpled women's clothes, and even a high heel that someone had dropped...
His eyes revealed undisguised annoyance and disdain.
He used to be one of those who enjoyed it, but now he's starting to find it offensive.
At times like this, he felt nauseous even if he stayed for just one more second.
Instead of wasting time, it would be better to go home and listen to her softly recount what script she read and what she learned that day.
He raised his wrist, glanced at the time, and his impatience deepened.
How dare Lin Shu be late?
