Chapter 56 The Bet 4 (1/2)

"You're allowed to look at others, but I'm not? Why should I?"

Su Qianqian felt wronged and angry at his harsh words, and her stubborn streak kicked in, causing her to retort without hesitation:

"I'm going to a bar tomorrow and order eight male models! I want to see their abs!"

She got more and more outrageous, with a hint of despair in her voice: "I won't just look, I'll touch!"

"Su, Qian, Qian!"

Gu Chengyu's face darkened completely.

A surge of anger, feeling offended, welled up inside me.

He released his hands from her small face, took a step back, and put his hands into his trouser pockets.

His jawline was taut, and his deep phoenix eyes stared intently at her, devoid of any warmth, only an unyielding pressure and a chill that sent shivers down one's spine.

"Try saying that again?" Gu Chengyu's voice was not loud, and could even be described as calm, but it was more frightening than any of the words he had ever spoken to her before.

Su Qianqian was startled by his sudden change in attitude and gaze.

The cold and unfamiliar Gu Chengyu in front of her was completely different from the man she knew who would coax her and lose control for her.

This was the true heir of the Gu family; his inherent arrogance and indifference instilled fear in her instinctively.

She instinctively took two steps back, her slender back gently bumping against the wall.

She hurriedly lowered her head, not daring to look into his cold eyes anymore, her little hands tightly clutching the hem of her skirt.

Large teardrops rolled down silently.

The girl's small body twitched, but she didn't make a sound.

Looking at her frightened expression, Gu Chengyu felt as if his heart had been ripped out.

Before his anger had subsided, an overwhelming sense of heartache had already engulfed him.

He kept telling himself that women are creatures who are prone to taking advantage of others, and he couldn't easily soften his heart.

No matter how much Gu Chengyu tried to convince himself, his cold expression only lasted for a minute before he couldn't hold it in any longer.

"Qianqian..." he called out in a low, hoarse voice, filled with heartache.

He pulled his hand out of his trouser pocket, stepped forward, and without a word, grasped her small hand that was clutching the hem of her skirt; the girl's fingertips were cool.

His palms were burning hot as he caressed her delicate hand a few times, then gently pulled her into his arms.

But the little girl was incredibly strong. She silently resisted him with all her might, her small body stiff against the wall, not moving an inch, only her tears flowed even more fiercely.

Looking at her lowered head and her slightly trembling shoulders, Gu Chengyu felt both anxious and pained.

He was seven years older than her, a grown man, why should he argue with a little girl?

What if I really cry myself to death?

He closed his eyes, suppressing all his frustration and that damned pride.
