The next day, the morning sunlight streamed through the window, casting warm dappled patterns on the floor.
There was still a slightly sweet and cloying scent lingering in the air of the walk-in closet.
In the master bedroom, Su Qianqian was awakened by a familiar soreness deep in her waist.
She groggily opened her eyes, and what came into view was the man's sharp jawline and slightly bobbing Adam's apple.
Gu Chengyu had already woken up and was lying on his side, one arm domineeringly encircling her slender waist, the other hand supporting his head, his gaze fixed on her face with a languid look of satisfaction and undisguised admiration.
Su Qianqian had just woken up, her mind was still a little foggy, and her watery almond-shaped eyes were misty.
But when her gaze met Gu Chengyu's deep, smiling phoenix eyes, certain embarrassing scenes from last night instantly flooded her mind.
In the dim light, her two pale legs gradually lost their strength and she could no longer stand steadily.
Even when she finally collapsed to the ground, he still chased after her.
He did those things to her that made her scalp tingle and in the end she could only let out soft moans.
With a bang, Su Qianqian's face instantly flushed pink, like a ripe peach.
She let out a shy and annoyed "hmm," then abruptly turned her face away, burying half of it in the soft pillow, leaving Gu Chengyu with only a fluffy back of his head and a small, pink earlobe.
"Awake?" Gu Chengyu's deep voice was hoarse from the early morning.
He tightened his arms around her waist slightly, trying to pull her closer to him.
"Don't touch me!" Su Qianqian's muffled voice came from under the pillow, carrying obvious awkwardness.
She even twisted her body, trying to break free from his arm, and her small hands haphazardly pushed against his chest as he leaned in.
The force was soft and yielding, more like a coquettish pout than a sign of resistance.
Gu Chengyu chuckled softly, his chest heaving.
He knew all too well why she was acting so awkward.
Instead of letting go, he tightened his arms, easily pulling the small body that was trying to escape back and holding it firmly in his arms.
"Why are you hiding?" He lowered his head, his breath brushing against her earlobe, his voice teasing and knowing. "Shy? Weren't you quite well-behaved last night? Hmm?"
"Shut up!" Su Qianqian was so embarrassed by his words that she wanted to disappear. She buried her face in the pillow as if that would shut out his smiling voice and the memories that made her blush.
She accused him in a muffled voice, "You bastard! Don't mention last night! Don't mention it!"
"Okay, let's not talk about it."
Gu Chengyu readily agreed with his suggestions and spoke in a permissive tone, but his actions told a completely different story.
He forcefully turned her around, freeing one hand to gently pinch her delicate chin, using an irresistible force to compel her to lift her small, flushed face.
"Then let Young Master Gu give me a kiss?"
He looked into her almond-shaped eyes, glistening with a mixture of shyness and annoyance. His Adam's apple bobbed, and his voice, slightly hoarse, began to coax, "Just one kiss, as a good morning kiss?"
"No!" Su Qianqian refused without thinking, shaking her head like a rattle drum, her eyes darting away and refusing to look at him.
"Go away, don't get so close, when I see your face I just..." She recalled those images that made her legs go weak.
"What's wrong with seeing my face?"
Gu Chengyu raised an eyebrow, deliberately pressing for an answer, his smile deepening, tinged with a mischievous teasing, "What did you remember? Hmm? Did you remember me? Where were you? Or did you remember blah blah blah?"
"Ahhh! Don't say that!" Su Qianqian was so embarrassed she almost screamed. She raised her small hand and hurriedly covered his mouth, trying to stop him from saying anything even more embarrassing.
