Chapter 189 The Bar (2/2)

"Innocent or glamorous, you name it, we've got you covered! We guarantee they'll treat you like royalty!"

Gu Chengyu ignored him, picked up the wine bottle, poured a full glass, tilted his head back and gulped it down. The spicy liquid burned his throat, but it couldn't suppress the coldness in his heart.

Shen Que sat silently in the corner, also starting to drink without saying a word, one glass after another, at a speed no slower than Gu Chengyu.

Zhou Yu'an's words kept echoing in his mind: She said she didn't like it, that Cheng Yu was dirty.

And what about herself? In her heart, she probably felt the same way, or even worse.

Gu Chengyu caught a glimpse of Shen Que's similar drunken state out of the corner of his eye, and his anger flared up again.

Why should he put on such a deadpan expression?

The person she despises and uses as a tool is Gu Chengyu! What is Shen Que doing here?

"Heh." Gu Chengyu let out a cold sneer, his gaze sweeping over Shen Que. "Who is Young Master Shen putting on this act for?"

Shen Que paused in pouring the wine, raised his eyes, and said with a defiant sneer, "What? Young Master Gu can drink, but I can't? Is this bar owned by your Gu family?"

The smell of gunpowder instantly filled the air.

Seeing this, Qin Yu quickly tried to smooth things over: "Hey, hey, why are we fighting among ourselves? It's all Su Qianqian's fault!"

"Chengyu, listen to me, we'll find a different girl to raise tomorrow."

"Although I can't find anyone prettier than her right now, she's definitely not that much less beautiful."

Zhou Yu'an swirled his wine glass and spoke up at the opportune moment: "Qin Yu, don't make things worse. What Cheng Yu needs right now is not a replacement."

He looked at Gu Chengyu: "He needs to figure out whether he is willing to put up with the current hypocritical Su Qianqian, or simply let go and end it all."

These words were like salt rubbed into Gu Chengyu's bleeding wound.

He gripped the wine glass tightly, his knuckles turning white, and blood seeped from the wound on the back of his hand.

"Zhou Yu'an, stop spouting nonsense." Gu Chengyu's voice was hoarse, his eyes fixed on the man across from him who was leisurely swirling his wine glass.

“If you hadn’t been so paranoid and insisted on starting this, I would have accepted it even if she had lied to me for the rest of my life.”

"It's better than it is now..."

His voice even choked up at the end.

He abruptly turned his face away, not wanting anyone to see his disheveled state, but his slightly reddened eyes betrayed too much emotion.

Zhou Yu'an was initially speechless after being rebuked by him, feeling that he didn't appreciate kindness and was about to say something sarcastic.

But when she looked up and saw him like this, she swallowed back the words that were on the tip of her tongue.

He has known Chengyu for over twenty years.

From childhood to adulthood, this young master Gu has always been aloof and disdainful of all living beings. When has he ever lost his composure like this?

This is the first time.

Zhou Yu'an sighed and silently took a sip of wine.

Perhaps he went a bit too far this time?

But there's no turning back now that the arrow has been released; Chengyu can no longer deceive himself.

The private room fell into a suffocating silence once again.

They just kept drinking, one glass of wine after another.

Qin Yu shrank to one side, not daring to breathe, and understood a bit. This Su Qianqian actually made Cheng Yu cry, which was really amazing.

He looked at this and then at that, feeling that drinking this wine was even more unbearable than being lectured by his father.

After an unknown amount of time, Gu Chengyu suddenly let out a low laugh, tinged with obsession.

"So what if they dislike me?" he muttered to himself.

"Since she, Su Qianqian, has provoked me, she shouldn't expect to get away easily."

He tilted his head back, downed the rest of the wine in his glass in one gulp, his Adam's apple bobbing, and then slammed the glass down on the table.

"Even if it's a tonic, she has to make me take it for the rest of my life."

His gaze swept over Zhou Yu'an, then over Qin Yu, and finally landed on Shen Que.

"This matter ends here."

After he finished speaking, no one in the private room responded.

Zhou Yu'an smiled knowingly.

Qin Yu secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Shen Que lowered his eyes, his expression unreadable. (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
