Gu Chengyu's mind was in turmoil, with various bleak scenes of being neglected by his career-oriented girlfriend playing out in his mind.
His face unconsciously darkened, and his thin lips pressed into a straight line.
Su Qianqian keenly sensed the change in his emotions, tightening her arms around his waist, and softening her voice, making it more coquettish and pitiful:
"Young Master Chengyu, it's just for one week~"
"I promise I'll video chat with you whenever I have free time, okay?"
"This is a really rare opportunity. Brother Wang said it will be especially helpful for my future development..."
She tilted her head up and leaned closer to him, her warm breath brushing against his chin. Her watery eyes were full of expectation, like a little kitten waiting to be fed.
Gu Chengyu looked down at the little girl and thought to himself: She's so damn cute. How can there be such a cute girl who has captured my heart?
The irritability and annoyance in my heart were mostly dispelled by her soft and coquettish words.
He sighed deeply, with a hint of helplessness and indulgence.
He gave her a light pinch on the soft flesh of her waist as punishment, eliciting a soft cry from her.
"You heartless little brat."
He complained in a low voice, but his tone softened, "It's only just begun, and you're already thinking of leaving Young Master Chengyu at home? Hmm?"
Su Qianqian sensed that his tone had softened, and immediately seized the opportunity.
She rubbed her little head against the crook of his neck, her voice sweet and soft: "Of course I care!"
"Young Master Chengyu is the most important person in my heart!"
"Just one week, I'll be back to be with you soon! Okay?"
Gu Chengyu's heart softened as she rubbed against him, and his initial annoyance was completely replaced by helplessness.
Oh well, if she likes it, let her be.
He resignedly tightened his arms, holding her even closer in his embrace, resting his chin on the top of her soft hair, his voice muffled and tinged with grievance: "Fine, remember your words, video chat every day."
He paused, then squeezed her small hand again, his expression a mix of fierce affection, "If you dare forget, see how Young Master Chengyu deals with you!"
Su Qianqian immediately smiled brightly, nodding vigorously in his arms, her voice clear and charming: "Mmm, I promise~"
