Chapter 251 Sleeping Vegetarian

Chapter 251 Sleeping Vegetarian

Qin Ce walked up to her and took her hand, his coldness completely gone from when Qin Yi was there.

"Are you still angry?"

Qiao Xing looked a little uneasy. "I already said I'm not angry."

Qin Ce was skeptical, his gaze sweeping over her face for a long time before he asked, "Really?"

"Really!" She pulled her hand back with some annoyance; he couldn't help but feel that she was angry.

Qin Ce stared at her resentfully, "You don't even look at me, and you say you're not angry."

Upon hearing this, Qiao Xing immediately looked up.

Seeing his face, some images flashed through her mind again, but she immediately turned her head away. "Do you believe me now?"

Qin Ce nodded, his tense expression easing. "I believe you."

So he shamelessly moved closer to Qiao Xing and pulled her into his arms, saying, "You're shy."

Qiao Xing's face flushed red, but she didn't say anything.

Qin Ce added, "I might have been a little too hasty last night and hurt you. I'll be more careful next time."

"Stop talking!"

"Okay, I'm not going to say anything more. You didn't sleep last night, why don't you take a nap this afternoon?"

Qiao Xing nodded. "You haven't slept either, have you? What are you planning to do?"

"If you allow it, I can sleep with you."

"If it's just about sleeping, then you're allowed to sleep."

Qin Ce thought for a moment and agreed, "Then let's sleep with vegetarians."

"..."

Where did he learn all these weird words? Just looking at him, he doesn't seem like the kind of person who would say such cheesy things.

Qiao Xing learned a lesson from him: you can't judge a book by its cover.

While she was still lost in thought, Qin Ce had already picked her up and strode towards the bedroom.

Seeing his posture, Qiao Xing panicked a little and hurriedly grabbed his collar, "I'm just sleeping!"

"knew."

When they got to the bedroom, Qin Ce put her down and then got into bed with her.

He was relatively well-behaved; he simply held her close without making any physical advances.

Qin Ce was probably tired too, and fell asleep even before Qiao Xing.

Hearing the even breathing sounds beside her, Qiao Xing closed her eyes and fell into a deep sleep.

When I woke up again, it was already the next morning.

Qiao Xing rubbed her eyes and looked to the side, only to find that the blankets next to her were already cold.

She woke up with a sore back and aching waist, rubbing her back as she got up. For a moment, she couldn't tell if the pain was from sleeping too long or from what he had done earlier.

She glanced at the time; it was nine o'clock. Qin Ce had probably already left.

When I arrived at the restaurant, there was breakfast he had prepared on the table, along with a note he had left.

—I'm going to work. I'll come back to pick you up at 2 PM.

There are a few words in the bottom right corner: Left by your husband.

When Qiao Xing saw the last few words, he couldn't help but laugh, imagining the man writing those greasy words with a blank expression.

She took an empty box from the liquor cabinet, put the sticky note inside, and planned to show him her greasy appearance later.

Bai Yi also sent a message to Qiao Xing, telling her that the annual meeting would start at 3 p.m., and also sent her the address.

Upon seeing Bai Yi's message, Qiao Xing recalled what Wang Ye had said to her on the phone that night, and her feelings became somewhat complicated.

Qiao Xing ate a quick breakfast and waited at home for Qin Ce to get off work.

Qin Ce was attending a company meeting, the first quarterly meeting since the company was established in Chongqing.

The conference room was quite crowded. Managers and group leaders from various departments were all there, and some who had never had the chance to meet the boss before were seeing him for the first time.

Everyone was saying how handsome the boss was, but after seeing him in person, I realized my imagination was too limited.

He didn't go on stage; he just sat in the middle of the first row. Han Yan was the one speaking on stage.

After Han Yan rattled off a long speech, he finally invited Qin Ce to speak.

Qin Ce glanced at his watch, then stood up and walked over, taking the microphone from Han Yan's hand. After a moment's hesitation, he spoke.

"Everyone should try to get to the point, just report relevant data and major events, and avoid showing off your rhetoric."

Upon hearing this, the people below exchanged bewildered glances. As everyone knows, the purpose of the quarterly meetings is to showcase one's contributions to the company to the leadership, so they all write elaborate and colorful reports. The more brilliantly one writes, the more impressed the leadership will be.

After he said that, everyone's manuscripts had to be cut in half.

Han Yan coughed as well; he could tell that this person was probably in a hurry to leave work.

However, this quarterly meeting is basically just a formality, with nothing major happening. The real issues that need to be resolved don't require so many people; the bigger the issue, the fewer people attend the meeting.

After waiting a while, Qin Ce still hadn't said anything. Han Yan glanced at him and asked, "Are you done?"

Qin Ce handed him the microphone and said in a voice only the two of them could hear, "Let's finish this as soon as possible."

Han Yan gave him a knowing look and took the microphone from his hand.

Han Yan was indeed efficient; he finished as soon as he said he wanted to, and the meeting was over by 12:30.

There was supposed to be a company dinner, but when everyone was heading to the hotel, they couldn't find Qin Ce anywhere.

At 2 PM, Qin Ce returned home on time.

Qiao Xing was playing games on the sofa and didn't even notice that he had returned.

When Qin Ce walked up to her, she was surprised to realize, "You're back?"

"You don't play games, did you skip lunch?"

Qiao Xing was stunned for a moment, then gave an embarrassed smile. She had gone too far...

"Ugh, I keep losing, I want to win back my losses! Someone even insulted me just now, and I had a fight with him. I'm so angry!"

Qiao Xing let out a breath. No one cursed her when she was playing before, but now that her rank is a little higher, people have started to curse her.

It's all Yang Han's fault. She used her account to achieve such a high win rate and rank, causing her skill level to be mismatched with her rank.

Because of a simple act of letting Lin Xi play games, Qiao Xing ended up leading her down a path of no return, something she never expected.

Qin Ce's eyelids twitched.

"Is it really that fun?"

"It's alright. I was just playing around because I was bored while waiting for you, but I ended up getting really hooked."

"She's bad at games but loves to play." Qin Ce took her phone and looked through her game history, which was all red.

In other words, Qiao Xing hasn't won a single game so far.

"Sigh... I'll become stronger."

Qin Ce glanced at her, then chuckled, a mix of helplessness and amusement. "You really want to go and compete?"

"No, I'm just... bad at the game but love to play."

Qin Ce handed the phone back to her. "Okay, go change your clothes. I'll take you out to get something to eat first."

Qiao Xing hummed in agreement, ran back to her bedroom to change her clothes as quickly as possible, then ran out again and took his arm. "Let's go."

Qin Ce glanced down at the hand that was linked with his, and unconsciously raised his lips slightly before leading her out the door.

He took Qiao Xing to a well-known noodle shop where the food was served quickly.

But in that short time, she started another game.

Qin Ce sat opposite her, watching her so engrossed in the game, and his eyes became resentful.

Qiao Xing was in the middle of a fierce team battle when suddenly a hand snatched her phone away.

Qiao Xing stared blankly at her empty hands for a moment, then looked up at Qin Ce, "What are you doing?"

He held the phone with his long, slender fingers, propped his elbow on the table, and said, "What's so fun about this game? You can play something else that's more interesting."

"What's interesting?"

"For example, me."

Qiao Xing was stunned for a long time before she realized what he meant. She choked for a while before finally managing to utter a sentence, "Are you sick in the head...?"

Qin Ce chuckled, picked up her phone and played with it for her, "The noodles are almost burnt, hurry up and eat."

Qiao Xing then realized that the noodles had been served for quite some time.

She glanced at Qin Ce, who was playing the game, and her face showed embarrassment.
