Chapter 287: It Has My Style Back Then

Chapter 287: It Has My Style Back Then

"No, I don't plan to go there," Qiao Xing said frankly, though he had been there before.

She still remembers sitting on that little stool, watching the family having a lively time, and no one even calling her to eat.

Her father got married and had a son and a daughter. Afraid of upsetting his wife, he never gave her a kind look. Even when passing by, he would pretend not to see her and turn around to hug his little daughter with a doting smile.

When she was young, she didn't understand why her father treated her that way. She thought she had done something wrong to upset him. Later, when she became more sensible, she realized that he no longer had a place for her as his daughter in his heart.

Every time she received a red envelope, it felt like she was being treated like a beggar. She told her aunt to take her back home immediately.

So after Qiao Xing graduated from junior high school, when her aunt asked her to go again, she refused no matter what.

She hasn't been back for almost ten years now, and her father hasn't even called to say hello, completely forgetting about her.

Hearing this, my aunt was even more puzzled. "You're not going? Then where are you going with all this stuff?"

"Where we go seems to have nothing to do with you," Qin Ce interrupted He Fen when he saw Qiao Xing's disappointed expression.

He Fen was a little annoyed, but because it was Qin Ce, she couldn't bring herself to say anything.

But then she asked, "Didn't you tell her yesterday that you should try to persuade Wang Qin? Don't you know that the two of them came to our door yesterday demanding the house from us?"

“Xingxing, you said that if you hadn’t been living with us, you would have starved and frozen to death outside long ago. You wouldn’t be where you are today. Your mother was wrong to come and ask for the house. Those two are heartless and uneducated. You can’t be like them, right?”

Hearing these words, Qiao Xing's anger rose within him.

She looked up at her aunt and said, "But didn't I give you money?"

Auntie was stunned. "What?"

"Have you forgotten so quickly? The accounts you did with me before, twenty years, 240,000."

Aunt's face darkened, and Wang Ye, who was standing next to her, pulled her back, telling her not to embarrass herself.

Qiao Xing added, "I am very grateful to you and my uncle for taking me in all these years. If you think these years are worth 240,000, I will give you the money. Then I will not owe you anything. It is their business if they want the house. It has nothing to do with me."

"What kind of talk is this, child? We're family..."

Qiao Xing interrupted her, "I've always treated you all as family. It's you who didn't treat me as family. When I wanted to buy a house, I gave you the money, but you used the name of family to try and take out a loan for the house."

"Because I didn't agree, you started to hold me accountable. You wanted 240,000 yuan from me over twenty years, and I gave it to you. When I was little, you took me to visit relatives and made me suffer all kinds of scorn at Qiao Hong's place. All the red envelopes we received ended up in your hands. What more do you want from me?"

People were coming and going around, and upon hearing this, they all turned to look in their direction.

Whether from anger or sadness, Qiao Xing's chest heaved violently. She said firmly, "Now that you've settled all the scores between us over the years, stop using the name of family to morally blackmail me, okay?"

Qiao Xing's string of words left He Fen speechless. She stood there blankly, the gazes from all around her like sharp blades, tearing away her hypocritical mask and exposing her true nature and ugliness. She wished she could find a hole to crawl into.

My aunt blushed with embarrassment, "You, you, you're talking nonsense!"

"Whether I'm talking nonsense or not, you know it in your heart." Qiao Xing took the things from the shopkeeper's hand and said to Qin Ce with red eyes, "Let's go."

Qin Ce frowned, gave He Fen a deep look, then turned and followed Qiao Xing out.

Wang Ye sighed, rubbing his forehead. He was also annoyed to be stuck with a mother like that.

As Qiao Xing walked out of the market, the cold wind outside made her runny nose.

She wasn't good at arguing, especially in front of so many people. Her heart was pounding, but she felt a sense of relief after finally saying what she had been keeping to herself.

Qin Ce came to her side and asked, "Are you alright?"

Qiao Xing shook his head, turned to look at him, and joked, "Maybe I've been playing games and arguing with people too much these days. Wasn't my logic very clear just now?"

Previously, she would blush and get flustered, and become incoherent when arguing with people in games. After the game, she would review the game, feel that she hadn't performed well, and feel annoyed for a while.

Qin Ce stared at her for a few seconds before nodding: "Yes, very clear, just like my style back then."

Qiao Xing was amused by him. "Really? What are you like when you argue with someone?"

"It's better if you don't know."

"Okay..." Qiao Xing also felt that it was better not to know.

Qin Ce then said, "Can we get in the car? It's so heavy."

Qiao Xing then noticed the large bags and packages in his hands, weighing at least several dozen kilograms. "Ah, sorry, could you give me some?"

"No need, let's go, it's not far."

Qiao Xing nodded. She had originally wanted to buy a few packets of hot pot base, but after meeting her aunt, she lost all interest in shopping.

The two arrived at the parking lot, Qin Ce put his things in the trunk, and drove Qiao Xing back.

When passing by the supermarket, Qin Ce bought an extra-large suitcase specifically to pack her pile of local specialties.

After returning home from dinner, Qiao Xing squatted down and sorted through the local specialties, arranging them neatly in boxes.

After taking a shower, Qin Ce went to his study to work overtime.

After Qiao Xing finished packing, he closed the suitcase and tried to lift it... It was so heavy, he couldn't lift it at all.

She gave up, left the box in the middle of the room, and went to take a shower.

To make sure Qin Ce had slept last night, she turned off the lights and stood guard in the living room, just to see if he was going to stay up all night.

She sat cross-legged on the sofa, put on her headphones, and opened the game.

Unexpectedly, Qin Yi invited her to join the game as soon as she logged in. Seeing that it was his alt account, Qiao Xing quickly entered the room. She was in her promotion match, so she asked Qin Yi to help her through the challenge.

As soon as I entered the room, I heard Qin Yi's voice through my earphones, "Sister-in-law, are you going to France?"

Qiao Xing replied softly, "Yes, are you going?"

"Of course I'm going! When did you get your tickets?"

"It seems to be the day after tomorrow, but my passport hasn't been issued yet. I have to wait for your brother to let me know."

"The day after tomorrow? Let me check the flights. Thank you, sister-in-law, I'll be going now."

Qiao Xing was completely confused. Wasn't he here to play games with her?

She clicked the invitation again, and a line of red text popped up: The other party has declined your invitation.

Qiao Xing: ! !

The next second, Qiao Xing saw that he had started the game.

For a moment, I didn't know how to complain.

Qiao Xing thought he must have gone to play with Yang Han and the others, so Qiao Xing started the game himself.

Then, something magical happened: after entering the game, she met Qin Yi.
