"Why is he still here?" Qin Ce asked.
Qiao Xing explained, "Team Leader Bai can't leave for the time being; he'll be here later. You should go to sleep first."
Qin Ce glanced at the still crying child, strode over to him, and sat down next to Linlin.
Linlin sensed something and turned to look at him.
Staring at the man's expressionless face, his crying gradually subsided, leaving only sobs, and he silently moved closer to Qiao Xing.
Qiao Xing clicked his tongue in amazement. That's it?
She glanced at Qin Ce, but even Qiao Xing was frightened by his serious expression, let alone such a young child.
"Qin Ce, why don't you go to sleep first?"
Qin Ce said, "Go to sleep, I'll stay here and watch over things."
"Oh? That's not a good idea. You have to go to work tomorrow, but I can slack off tomorrow."
Qin Ce said, "He will cry when I leave."

"Just asking."
"Well, it's alright. I think the kids are quite cute."
Qin Ce gave her a few ambiguous glances before getting up to go to the bedroom to get his clothes. "I'm going to take a shower. You should go to bed early."
Living in the old man's house, the two of them couldn't do anything, so Qiao Xing went to sleep as soon as he lay down on the bed.
Qin Ce worked overtime for a while before going to sleep.
The next morning, the two set off for work.
Qiao Xing thought she would be the only one there today, but Lin Shuang came too, so it was just the two of them now.
Lin Shuang looked somewhat listless, and when she saw Qiao Xing, she greeted him weakly.
Qiao Xing looked at her suspiciously. "What's wrong? Are you still half asleep?"
"No, it's just that I'm upset. Staying at home is worse than coming to work," Lin Shuang sighed irritably.

Lin Shuang started complaining, but Qiao Xing quickly interrupted her, "Alright, let's go eat. Are you hungry?"
Lin Shuang sighed, reverting to her listless demeanor. "Let's go."
Qiao Xing couldn't help but glance at her a couple more times, wondering what she was worried about, given that her boyfriend's salary was so high.
The two of them went to the restaurant downstairs from the company and ate something casually. Since many restaurants were not yet open, there weren't many options.
Lin Shuang ate absentmindedly, while Qiao Xing ate heartily, since she was also hungry.
Lin Shuang stared at her eating and couldn't help but ask, "Qiao Xing, how are things between you and your husband now?"
Qiao Xing paused, then casually said, "It's the same as before, what's wrong?"
"It's been so long, hasn't he revealed anything to you?"
"What do you mean by revealing?"
Lin Shuang hesitated for a moment, then lowered her head and ate her food. "It's nothing."
Qiao Xing looked at Lin Shuang with confusion. Did she know something?
She wanted to ask something, but didn't know where to begin. Besides, Lin Shuang had finished eating, so she put down her chopsticks and asked, "Have you finished eating?"
"Oh, we're done eating." Qiao Xing quickly put down her chopsticks, picked up her things, and walked out of the restaurant with Lin Shuang.
Meanwhile, Qin Ce also received news that the lawsuit concerning He Fen's house would officially go to court tomorrow.
Chen Yu arrived in Chongqing the day before yesterday and is currently talking to He Fen to understand the situation and collect evidence. This guy is obsessed with winning.
Yang Xu was currently ranting to Qin Ce about how shameless Chen Yu was, and how he thought the case was a sure thing, so he refused to give up no matter what.
It's like beating Yang Xu makes you some kind of awesome person.
Qin Ce interrupted his rambling and asked, "So, do you have a chance of winning?"
"What are the odds? I can't guarantee that Wang Qin will get the house, but I can help her fight for half of the rights. Wang Yue has inheritance rights to the house, and so does Wang Qin, so the best outcome would be to give half of the cash from the house to Wang Qin."
"That could make He Fen bleed a lot of money. If you step in and buy her house, she'll probably sell it." Yang Xu wasn't too sure, after all, He Fen was a bit of an oddball.
"Um."
Qin Ce hung up the phone, glanced at the time, and realized it was almost time to pick up Qiao Xing from get off work.
Qiao Xing has been busy watching game competitions these past two days and has completely forgotten about the lawsuit.
She had no intention of getting involved, so she didn't take it to heart.
When she went home with Qin Ce after get off work in the afternoon, she saw Chen Yu.
However, she didn't recognize Chen Yu; she only saw him knocking on her aunt's door.
Hearing footsteps, Chen Yu turned to look at the two. He didn't recognize Qin Ce either, because he had never seen him before.
It just looks vaguely familiar, but I can't quite place it.
He Fen opened the door and warmly invited Chen Yu inside.
