Chapter 357 Going to the Club to Discuss Projects
Qiao Xing and Bai Yi sat there looking through the documents. She hadn't slept well last night, only getting a little over four hours of sleep, and her head was buzzing.
General Manager Liao, standing to the side, spoke eloquently, demonstrating his persuasive skills, which made Qiao Xing even more sleepy.
"These two are our colleagues in the planning department. If you have any requests, Mr. Jiang, you can tell them directly. If there are any details that need to be discussed, you can add each other as friends and communicate at any time."
Mr. Jiang's gaze swept across Qiao Xing and Bai Yi's faces, but lingered on Qiao Xing's face for a few more seconds, his eyes carrying a meaningful look.
"Your company is truly full of talented people. So, these two ladies are currently in charge of this project, right?"
Mr. Liao said with a smile, "Yes, don't underestimate them just because they are young. Since I brought them here, they are bound to be able to do a good job on this project."
"Yes, I trust Mr. Liao."
Actually, the project had already been decided long ago, so there wasn't much to talk about. The two of them just went through the motions and boasted a bit.
The most important thing is to follow up on subsequent projects.
After chatting for a long morning, Mr. Jiang invited them to lunch.
Qiao Xing forgot to charge her phone last night, and it's now showing a low battery warning of less than 5%. Meanwhile, President Jiang wanted to add both of them as friends, and after Qiao Xing added him, her phone completely shut down.
From going to the company to meet the client, to having lunch, and then leaving the restaurant, Qiao Xing was in a daze the whole time.
Once they were in the car back to the hotel, Qiao Xing asked, "Mr. Liao, was the contract finalized?"
Mr. Liao laughed and said, "After eating for so long, you still don't know whether the deal was successful or not?"
Qiao Xing blushed for a moment, "I..."
General Manager Liao waved his hand, indicating that she didn't need to explain. "The deal is done. We'll just wait for them to go back and draft the contract."
"Xiao Qiao, Xiao Bai, I'm handing this project over to you two. Make sure you handle the handover properly, okay?"
Qiao Xing nodded, "I understand, and I promise not to let President Liao down."
Bai Yi simply smiled and said yes.
Mr. Liao seemed to have thought of something else, "There's nothing else to do, so I'll give you two three days off. Have some fun here."
"Thank you, Mr. Liao."
Mr. Liao didn't say anything, but simply asked the driver to drop him off up ahead, as he had other things to do.
Bai Yi turned to Qiao Xing and asked, "Are you going out to play this afternoon?"
Qiao Xing shook his head and said weakly, "I'm not playing anymore. I'm so sleepy. I just want to go back to sleep."
"I told you not to drink so much coffee last night."
Qiao Xing leaned against the car window, her eyelids slowly drooping; she was really sleepy.
She had read through the materials Mr. Jiang gave her, but she hadn't memorized most of them. She would have to wait until she woke up and her mind was clear before studying them slowly.
Back at the hotel, Qiao Xing went straight to sleep.
Shortly after she fell asleep, a car stopped in front of the hotel.
"Old Qin, should I get you a private room, or..." Yang Han turned her head to look at Qin Ce, a mischievous smile appearing on her lips.
He could get Qiao Xing's room key, even if it wasn't impossible.
Qin Ce's expression turned serious as he glanced at the hotel entrance. "Are you sure it's reliable?"
Yang Han shrugged. "I didn't say it would be 100% successful, but it's an opportunity after all. Just try to take her out and have some fun. If you can talk things out, everything will be fine."
Qin Ce was silent for a moment, then he opened the car door and got out. "Get me a room next to hers."
Yang Han got out of the car and took out a room key from her pocket, handing it to him. "I knew you would say that. Here, I already booked it for you."
Qin Ce glanced at him, casually took the room key, and stepped inside.
Yang Han watched her enter the hotel, then suddenly remembered something and quickly took out his phone to call Qin Yi.
As soon as the call connected, Yang Han immediately asked, "Wait, are you here or not? You're not going to back out at the last minute, are you?"
"Here they are, they just got off the plane."
Qin Yi was still receiving an airport announcement, so it seemed he had really arrived, and Yang Han breathed a sigh of relief.
"You scared me to death! I thought you weren't coming. I'll send you the hotel address to your phone in a bit. Come over yourself."
"OK."
The two didn't waste any words and hung up the phone after finishing their conversation.
Qiao Xing slept until after 8 p.m., and her whole body ached. She picked up her phone and saw that it was fully charged, but she had received several messages.
She clicked on it and saw it was from President Jiang.
Mr. Jiang wanted to discuss the specific details of the project with her, and he sent the message an hour ago.
Qiao Xing was startled. He was sleeping so soundly that he had left President Jiang waiting for so long. If he lost the contract because of this, he could forget about staying at the company.
She picked up her phone and replied: I'm sorry, Mr. Liao, I fell asleep just now and didn't see your message.
Two minutes after the message was sent, Mr. Liao replied: It's okay, do you have time now?
Qiao Xing replied: Yes.
Mr. Jiang: Then come here, let's have a good chat. Remember to bring your documents with you.
Qiao Xing: Okay, has Team Leader Bai already gone?
Mr. Jiang: I've already told her, she's probably on her way right now.
Qiao Xing was relieved to see the news. She packed her things, took her documents and computer, left the hotel, hailed a taxi, and went to the place designated by President Jiang.
When she arrived, she realized it was a club.
Qiao Xing frowned. Why do people always like to talk about work in places like this?
When she worked in administration, she made several reservations for General Manager Liao, so she knew that people like to discuss work in places like this.
But Qiao Xing was quite resistant.
Since we're already here, if we don't go and stand up President Jiang, he might get angry and cancel the cooperation, which would be troublesome.
Qiao Xing took a deep breath, picked up the things, and went inside.
Ms. Jiang was in room 208. She arrived at the private room, knocked on the door, and then grabbed the doorknob to go inside.
The private room was quiet, and only Mr. Jiang was there. There was a table full of wine.
"Miss Qiao has arrived." President Jiang stood up, smiled, and gestured for her to sit down. "Please have a seat."
Qiao Xing looked around the private room. A music video was playing on the big screen, but there was no sound. The white light shone into the room, creating an unsettling and eerie atmosphere.
"President Jiang, hasn't Team Leader Bai arrived yet?"
Mr. Jiang smiled and said, "I don't know, maybe there was a traffic jam on the way. It's okay, let's chat first, and you can tell her the rest later."
Qiao Xing hesitated before sitting down diagonally opposite him.
Mr. Jiang looked to be in his forties, a bit balding, with sparse hair, but he wasn't fat; on the contrary, he was thin and bony, wearing glasses, and had the air of a leader.
"Mr. Jiang, if you have any requirements for this procedure, you can tell me directly, and I will write them down and include them in the planning document later."
Mr. Jiang waved his hand and poured her a glass of wine. “Your team leader hasn’t arrived yet. Let’s wait for her for another ten minutes. Come on, let’s have a drink first.”
Qiao Xing smiled somewhat embarrassedly, "I'm sorry, Mr. Jiang, I'm not very good at drinking."
"This is a cocktail, it has no alcohol content and won't get you drunk. Miss Qiao came here to discuss a project with me, surely you won't even give me this much face?"
