Chapter 437 Thinking of You
Qiao Xing nudged his arm. "By the way, I think that President He seems to have a thing for you. You'd better keep her in check for the sake of our final payment."
Shen Boyan paused, then turned back to look at Qiao Xing, "How did you figure that out?"
"It's obvious, can't you tell?"
"I didn't notice."
Qiao Xing now understood why he broke up with his girlfriend. Was it because science students were all clueless?
She definitely has feelings for you.
"Oh." Shen Boyan's reaction was indifferent.
"What do you mean by 'oh'? Look how charming you are, you can just go and sign a contract and the client takes a liking to you."
Shen Boyan shifted his position, lying down a little under the seat, resting his head on the back of the chair, and closed his eyes, saying, "I'm going to sleep for a while. Wake me up when we get there."
Qiao Xing pursed her lips and said, "Oh."
He didn't sleep much last night either; he fell into a deep sleep less than two minutes after closing his eyes.
Qiao Xing was bored while sitting, so he took out his phone to watch videos.
She thought of Qin Ce again, wondering if he was busy today. After thinking for a moment, she sent him a message.
Qin Ce is currently at Third Master's house, playing chess with Third Master.
He had wanted to leave for a long time, but the old man wouldn't let him. He wanted the old man to play a few games of chess with him and go with him to visit the old man.
"Terrible moves." The third uncle glared at Qin Ce with a stern face. "You're getting worse and worse. Are you doing this on purpose?"
Qin Ce said, "I'm tired."
The third uncle glared at him angrily, "I'm not tired yet, but you're already tired. I think you just don't want to play with me. You're old, and young people don't like to play with old men."
Qin Ce didn't speak, and placed another piece.
The old man loved playing chess. The reason Qin Ce was playing chess with him was that none of the younger generation in the old man's family wanted to play chess with him. Qin Ce happened to arrive, and a group of people forced him to play chess with the old man, and then they ran away.
The old man could tell he was deliberately losing, and lost interest in playing. He threw the chess piece on the board and said, "Never mind, I'll go check on my older brother."
Qin Ce stood up, and Qiao Xing sent him a message. He took out his phone and saw that Qiao Xing was asking him what he was doing.
He typed a reply, but after typing half of it, he noticed something and turned his head to see the old man next to him spying on the screen.
Qin Ce's lips twitched, and he pressed a button to turn off the screen.
"Why aren't you replying?"
He solemnly reminded the third uncle, "Third uncle, this is my privacy."
The old man, with his hands behind his back, said in a serious tone, "It's just chatting with a young girl. What privacy is there? Look at you, you don't know how to chat. When a young girl asks you what you're doing, how do you reply with 'I'm thinking about you'?"
"..."
"You know quite a lot."
The old man became proud at the mention of this, and said mysteriously to Qin Ce, "I'll tell you a secret."
"Are you keeping a young girl on the side?"
No sooner had he finished speaking than the old man slapped him on the back of the head. Qin Ce reacted quickly and knew what the old man was going to do as soon as he saw the old man's arm swinging forward. He turned his head to avoid the slap.
"You brat! Do you think I'm that kind of person? You're spreading rumors about me!"
"What secret is that?"
"Xiangyun's young wife is your third grandfather. I helped him talk to her."
Qin Ce was speechless once again.
"So much free time." After being speechless for a while, he came to this conclusion.
"Reply to your wife's message first, and hurry up."
These old men are all stranger than the last, and Qin Ce is truly afraid.
"My phone is dead."
"You!" The third uncle glared at him with exasperation, then turned and walked away without saying another word.
Qin Ce lagged two steps behind him, took out his phone from his pocket, and replied to Qiao Xing: Thinking of you.
Qiao Xing received the message and felt a little embarrassed. She thought for a long time but didn't know how to reply, so she sent him a rose.
Qin Ce couldn't help but smile when he saw the rose.
Qiao Xing put away her phone. They had arrived at the station. She nudged Shen Boyan and said, "We're here."
Shen Boyan rubbed his eyes, opened them, and stood up weakly.
The two got out of the car and returned to the company. As soon as they entered, Tao Yang and Sun Miao surrounded them and asked, "How was it? How was it?"
Shen Boyan was still half asleep. He slumped his shoulders and walked toward the conference room, intending to take a nap.
Seeing his half-dead appearance, the two assumed the contract hadn't been signed. Tao Yang looked at Qiao Xing, "Didn't sign it?"
Qiao Xing took out the contract from her bag. "It's signed. Here's the contract."
Tao Yang paused for two seconds, snatched the contract and looked at it. He let out a long sigh of relief, then said irritably, "What was that expression on his face? It scared me to death!"
Qiao Xing explained, "He took a nap on the bus and hasn't woken up yet."
Tao Yang's eyes were only on the contract. He flipped through it over and over, and when he saw the price, his eyes widened. "Eight hundred thousand?"
Qiao Xing nodded, "Yes, Shen Boyan was the one who negotiated. He's really good at it."
Tao Yang and Sun Miao exchanged a glance, and the next moment, they excitedly hugged each other.
"Waaaaah, I don't have to stay up all night drawing anymore."
"I don't have to stay up all night modifying code anymore."
After the two finished their excitement, Qiao Xing took the contract and said, "They will transfer the advance payment within three days. This will be done through the company account. Send me the company account number, and I will send it to them later."
"No problem, I'll get it to you right away!" Tao Yang ran to his computer and quickly sent the company account information to Qiao Xing.
Qiao Xing said, "Should we have a meeting?"
"Go, go, go and drag Shen Boyan up."
The three of them went to the conference room and pulled Shen Boyan, who had just fallen asleep, up. Tao Yang rubbed his cheeks and said, "Don't sleep, let's start the meeting."
Shen Boyan raised his eyelids and looked at the three of them, his morning grumpiness rising, "Are you guys sick?"
Tao Yang ignored him, tidied up the table, and picked up his computer and laptop. "Why don't you finish the meeting before you sleep? Once the contract is signed, you'll have plenty of time to sleep later."
Shen Boyan rubbed his forehead. "What are you trying to say?"
Tao Yang said, "The 30% prepayment is 260,000 yuan. We need to plan this out. Also, all the jobs we have are under contract and need to be delivered. We can't just give up in the short term."
Qiao Xing said, "With this money, we can hire people to do the work, hand over all the jobs we have to them, and then we can work on our own projects."
Tao Yang nodded in agreement and typed rapidly on the keyboard, "That makes sense, I'll write it down."
Qiao Xing added, "If we want to hire more people, we might need to move to a bigger office, but right now we only have an advance payment and the final payment hasn't come through yet, so we can't move for the time being. Otherwise, if something goes wrong later, our situation will be even worse."
"Then what should we do?" Tao Yang said. "Even if we outsource these contracts at the lowest possible price, we probably won't be able to find anyone. The money is just too little, and we might even have to pay them out of pocket."
Qiao Xing nodded, "Yes, but we can contract them out separately. There are plenty of college students these days."
They have plenty of time, especially those who are about to graduate. We can let them do it themselves at school or at home, and we'll issue them internship certificates.
"This way we can outsource the work for the least amount of money, without having to provide a workspace. They get paid and don't even need to go to the company to get an internship certificate, right?"
Their most pressing task now is to use the 260,000 yuan to get the company up and running in the shortest possible time, instead of being trapped by debt and cheap outsourcing like they are now.
As long as the company gets up and running and generates income, they will be much better off regardless of whether they receive the final payment later.
