Chapter 582 You want a divorce?

Chapter 582 You want a divorce?

Wang Ye said on the phone, "What have you been busy with lately? Do you have time to go out for a meal together?"

Qiao Xing was a little surprised, "Your shop isn't busy anymore, why are you suddenly inviting me to dinner?"

"Bai Yi is back, so she asked me to call you. You can bring Qin Ce along too, so we can all go together."

"Bai Yi is back?" Qiao Xing asked in surprise.

"Hmm." Wang Ye looked at Bai Yi, who was tutoring Linlin's homework not far away.

“Okay, when?” Qiao Xing agreed.

Wang Ye said, "Tomorrow, it's the weekend, I've already booked a place and I'll let you know."

"good."

Wang Ye hung up the phone. Bai Yi was talking to Linlin and didn't notice what was happening.

Wang Ye stared at Bai Yi's face. Her hair had been cut short, just reaching her earlobes, making her look much more capable. In particular, her every smile and gesture exuded the aura of a powerful businesswoman.

He stared at it for a while and then became lost in thought.

Bai Yi had already walked up to him, but he still hadn't come to his senses.

"How did it go? Did Qiao Xing say he has time?"

Wang Ye quickly pulled himself back to his senses and nodded, "I said yes, let's do it tomorrow, I don't have anything planned for tomorrow anyway."

Bai Yi nodded, "Okay, I'll go book a place."

"No need, I'll go." Wang Ye stood up. "You've come all this way, spend more time with Linlin, don't call anymore, put your work aside."

Since starting this project, making and receiving phone calls has become Bai Yi's daily routine.

So much so that even though she was in Chongqing, her mind was still on her work there.

However, this time I came back specifically to see Linlin, check on the renovation of Wang Ye's shop, and treat Qiao Xing and the others to a meal. Work should indeed be put on hold for now.

Thinking this, Bai Yi simply put her phone on silent and continued to help Linlin with his homework.

After Wang Ye made a reservation at the restaurant, he couldn't help but look at Bai Yi again.

He noticed that the woman had changed a lot since she returned. The change wasn't in her appearance or clothing, but in the aura she exuded. Wang Ye felt that she was different from before.

Wang Ye couldn't think of the word for a moment; it seemed to be something like attraction.

As Wang Ye was watching, Bai Yi suddenly looked up at him. Wang Ye panicked and quickly looked away, pretending to be busy with his own things.

He didn't know what he was panicking about. He tried to grab something, but he tripped over something and bumped his head on a pillar.

There was a loud bang.

The driver next to him was so startled that he quickly stood up and asked, "Young man, are you alright?"

Wang Ye was in so much pain that his eyes were seeing stars, but he still waved his hand and said, "It's nothing, it's nothing."

Bai Yi watched his actions, her eyes filled with confusion.

The next day, when they went out for dinner, Wang Ye temporarily took Linlin home.

He Fen had always disliked Linlin, and whenever Wang Ye brought Linlin back, she never gave her a kind look.

Therefore, Wang Ye usually asks Wang Qin to take care of Linlin directly.

Linlin is a sensible child, and Wang Qin likes him very much. She told Wang Ye, "Don't worry, I will take good care of him."

Every time this happened, He Fen would scold Wang Ye, "You don't care about your own son, but you're such a good father. You only come back once every two or three months, and you don't even care about the child. I don't know what use a wife like you is!"

Wang Ye was tired of hearing this, but he always pretended not to hear it.

He gestured to Wang Qin with his eyes, and Wang Qin nodded, reassuring him.

Downstairs, Bai Yi waited for Wang Ye to come down.

As soon as he came out, she asked with some concern, "Your mother didn't say anything, did she? I told you to send him to my friend's place, but you wouldn't listen."

Wang Ye said, "What can my mom say? It's just the same few sentences over and over again. I pretend I didn't hear them, so you don't need to take it to heart."

"Besides, I'm already married to you. She'll have to accept this sooner or later. We can't keep avoiding this issue every day just because she doesn't like it, just to please her."

Wang Ye knew that He Fen would definitely say some unpleasant things after Linlin went back.

But he insisted on doing it anyway. It wasn't that he wanted Linlin to listen to those words, or that he deliberately wanted He Fen to target Linlin and Bai Yi.

His purpose in doing this was to let He Fen know that no matter how much she disliked Bai Yi and Lin Lin, they were still his family.

Their appearance is inevitable no matter what happens in the future.

Just like when Linlin first heard He Fen's words and realized her attitude towards him, she would ask Wang Ye and Bai Yi if Grandma didn't like him.

But for the past few months, Linlin has been at home almost every day, and now he, like Wang Ye, doesn't care at all.

What Wang Ye said made sense, but Bai Yi felt that things couldn't go on like this. As things were, she was in a difficult position, and Wang Ye was in an even more difficult position.

"Wang Ye, if it really doesn't work out, let's just call it quits. Now that you've opened your shop, maybe you can find someone with better conditions, someone from a similar social class, and your mom might be more accepting of you?"

"What did you say?" Wang Ye looked at Bai Yi in disbelief. "You want to divorce me?"

“I didn’t mean that, it’s just…” Bai Yi said, then suddenly smiled slyly, “We’re not really getting married, are we?”

The two initially agreed to marry, each getting what they needed, but over time, Bai Yi discovered that the marriage brought many problems.

She's getting busier and busier with work, and Linlin has basically been raised by Wang Ye. But Wang Ye has his own things to do, and she can't really hand the child over to him and let him support her for the rest of her life.

And then there's He Fen and the others. Although He Fen's words can be harsh at times, if you put yourself in her shoes, no mother would want her son to live with a woman who is several years older than him and has a son who is also quite old.

She was a mother herself, and she could understand He Fen's feelings.

Wang Ye knew that Bai Yi was thinking of him; the decision for them to get married back then was indeed a bit rushed.

However, he never regretted getting married because of He Fen's opposition.

So when Bai Yi said forget it, Wang Ye felt very uncomfortable. "I already told you that's just my mom's personality. She's just saying it, she won't really do anything to you. If she really hated you and Linlin, she would have kicked you out long ago. Would she accept me bringing Linlin back?"

Bai Yi silently pursed her lips.

Wang Ye looked at her without speaking and felt inexplicably irritated. "If anything happens, I'm here for you. You don't need to have such a big burden on your mind. Just don't forget that Linlin is your son. You can go about your business. You don't need to take many things to heart. Besides, you haven't paid back the money yet, so don't try to find an excuse to default on your debt!"
