Chapter 730 He should listen
When Shen Boyan got off work that evening, he did not see Shen Jilan outside.
He sneered inwardly, as if mocking someone.
Perhaps Shen Congyao himself realized how clumsy his excuse was, so he let Shen Jilan go back.
He didn't know where Shen Congyao got his confidence from, thinking that he could be summoned back by Shen Jilan, and that he would believe the ridiculous reasons he had made up.
When Shen Boyan returned home, he felt much more relaxed without Shen Jilan. After a quick wash, he went to bed.
After waking up, Shen Boyan went to the company as usual.
Sun Miao noticed that Shen Boyan seemed different today than he had been yesterday.
He wasn't as depressed as he was yesterday, and he wasn't as serious when he spoke. It was as if the old Shen Boyan had returned.
As Sun Miao was thinking this, Tian Guo whispered to her, "I think Brother Chen still has something on his mind. He's deliberately trying to appear relaxed."
"Yeah?"
Sun Miao didn't notice.
Tao Yang walked over and tapped Tian Guo on the head. "I didn't know you had this special skill."
Tian Guo touched her hair, a little shyly, "I...I was just talking nonsense..."
Tao Yang glanced at Shen Boyan.
He did look less lifeless than he had yesterday, but he thought the same thing as Tian Guo.
I always feel that Shen Boyan's current normalcy is a deliberate act.
Tao Yang's gaze involuntarily turned to Qiao Xing.
She was sitting in front of the computer, intently looking at the animated character art they had just created yesterday.
She was so engrossed in watching that she didn't notice Tao Yang standing behind her without her noticing.
When she saw Tao Yang, she was startled. "What are you doing standing here?"
Tao Yang pulled up a chair and sat down next to Qiao Xing. "You should have noticed that Boyan has been acting a bit strange ever since his younger brother came, right?"
Qiao Xing glanced at Shen Boyan and said, "There's nothing wrong with it. Everyone has their own private matters, and it's normal to be in a bad mood."
Tao Yang sighed, "I felt bad seeing him so preoccupied. He was like that when we first started our business. He never told us anything and always solved problems on his own, no matter how big they were."
"To be honest, it was really tough back then."
Tao Yang felt increasingly uneasy as he spoke.
“Now he handles all the big and small matters in the company by himself. Whether in the past or now, he seems to be used to taking everything on himself. Like now, even if he has something on his mind, he is unwilling to talk to us.”
“I know he’s not telling us because he doesn’t want to cause us trouble, or he has his own reasons, but we can’t just keep putting up with this. We’re all friends, so if there’s anything we can do to help, we should.”
Qiao Xing could understand Tao Yang; he treated Shen Boyan as a brother, which was why he hoped to share some of the burden with him.
But there are some things that you can't even tell your closest loved ones.
Qiao Xing comforted Tao Yang, "Don't overthink it. You've known him for so long, and he's never mentioned his family to you. He probably doesn't want to talk about it because his family situation is complicated. So even if he did tell us, we might not be able to help."
Tao Yang scratched his head. "I've already told you all this. I'm just worried that Boyan might be carrying things on his own and not telling us. I thought if you could persuade him, he would listen."
"Huh?" Qiao Xing smiled helplessly upon hearing this. "Why would you think that?"
Tao Yang chatted with Qiao Xing for a bit, forgetting his initial purpose for coming to see her, and the topic unknowingly turned to Shen Boyan.
"That's true. You're the only woman he doesn't keep her distance from. Haven't you noticed that he always agrees to anything you ask unconditionally?"
Qiao Xing didn't realize it at all. "He'll agree to anything that's good for the company. He's not someone who can't distinguish right from wrong."
Tao Yang shook his head.
"That's because he has never rejected you, that's why you think that way."
Qiao Xing was both amused and exasperated.
Tao Yang spoke with a straight face, but she didn't sense at all that Shen Boyan's attitude towards her was any different.
In other words, was Shen Boyan never like this when it came to women?
She is meticulous at work, not particularly enthusiastic in private, but not cold either; she always maintains a good sense of propriety.
Tao Yang hummed twice, "It seems you still don't know him well enough. You'll understand later; you're very important to him."
He got up and left after he finished speaking.
Qiao Xing was completely baffled.
Is she very important to Shen Boyan?
She didn't think she had done anything to make Shen Boyan so grateful.
Shen Boyan did take good care of her, but that was only because she was pregnant, it was that simple.
I don't know where Tao Yang got these ideas from.
Tian Guo finally finished her last task. She rubbed her sore neck, glanced at her watch, and realized it was time to get off work.
Sun Miao and Tao Yang had already gone back. She packed her things, stood up, and said to Shen Boyan, "Boyan, I'm going home now."
Shen Boyan looked up from in front of the computer. "Okay."
After she left, only Qiao Xing and Shen Boyan remained in the company.
Shen Boyan originally wanted Qiao Xing to leave early, but her current situation is special; she is essentially a free person and can go to work and leave whenever she wants.
However, Qiao Xing saw that it was still early and wanted to finish the few things he hadn't completed that morning.
Originally, the male lead's character design was planned to use a 2D dynamic mode. However, it was later discovered that while the dynamic mode looked more realistic, Cheng Yi's current server was overloaded, and the backend had crashed multiple times in just one morning.
Shen Boyan was considering whether to simply use flat character illustrations, because new modes would need to be developed for the game in the future. If the game was crammed full from the beginning, everything else would not be able to run properly.
The two spent the entire afternoon fiddling with this dynamic mode, and only after they had almost finished discussing it did they remember to leave work.
When I left the company, I realized it was drizzling outside.
It was rush hour, and with the rain, it was hard to get a taxi. Xing Jiu called Qiao Xing and said there was a traffic jam on the road, so she might have to wait a while.
Qiao Xing reminded him to be careful. After hanging up the phone, Shen Boyan said to her, "Go inside and wait. It's cold outside, don't catch a cold."
The rain outside showed no signs of stopping, and Shen Boyan, having not brought an umbrella, would not be able to leave anytime soon.
