Chapter 774 A Little Panicked
Bai Yi was still struggling with what had just happened, wondering if she should explain things more clearly to Wang Ye.
But Wang Ye seemed to have already guessed what she wanted to say, and deliberately avoided the topic. After finishing his conversation with her, he turned around and left.
Linlin tilted her head back and asked Bai Yi, "Is Uncle angry?"
Bai Yi rubbed his head. "No, let's go, Mom will take you home."
When Wang Ye returned to the shop, it was already past midnight. There were only one or two tables of customers left, and two or three people were on duty.
When the waiter saw Wang Ye return, he quickly stood up and said, "Brother Wang."
Wang Ye responded and then said to the waiter, "I'm going in to take a nap."
The waiter looked at Wang Ye's retreating figure with some confusion.
Logically speaking, now that the landlady is back, shouldn't they be a family of three, reunited?
For convenience, Wang Ye specially built a small bedroom in the back, where he would rest when he was busy.
Wang Ye lay in bed and first called Qiao Xing.
Qiao Xing's voice came through the phone. She didn't ask about his relationship with Bai Yi. "Cousin, aren't you asleep yet?"
Wang Ye called Qiao Xing to apologize to her, "I'm so sorry, cousin. I came to celebrate my mom's birthday with good intentions, but I didn't expect it to turn out like this. Qin Ce even saw it and made a fool of himself. Please apologize to him for me. I'm really sorry."
Qiao Xing said, "Look at what you're saying. I'm already used to my aunt's temper. It's not your fault, so you don't need to apologize."
Wang Ye sighed, "No matter what, this is all my family's fault. Just consider it my apology on behalf of my mother."
Wang Ye knew that Qiao Xing wouldn't mind, but he would feel guilty if he didn't say it out loud.
After chatting with Wang Ye for a few minutes, Qiao Xing hung up the phone.
Just then, Qin Ce came out of the bathroom after taking a shower.
His strong muscles and well-defined abs made Qiao Xing swallow hard.
Qin Ce's physique, no matter the occasion, has the ability to make people blush and their hearts race.
Despite this, Qiao Xing maintained a calm demeanor on the surface.
Before Qin Ce came out of the bathroom, he heard her on the phone, so he asked, "Who are you talking to?"
Qiao Xing said, "It's my cousin. He called specifically to apologize for what happened tonight."
"What did he apologize for?"
"That's right, but with my aunt's temper, if she really thought she was wrong, she wouldn't have said those things back then."
It's because He Fen speaks without regard for the occasion or her own words.
Afterwards, he didn't realize he had done anything wrong, so Wang Ye was the one who suffered every time.
Qiao Xing sighed, "My cousin and Bai Yi's relationship was already unstable, and now that my aunt is stirring things up, I don't know what will happen in the future."
Qin Ce threw down the towel he was using to dry his hair and went to bed.
"Don't think about it. People who are meant to be together won't be affected by these things."
On the other side, Wang Ye lay in bed, feeling restless because of something on his mind. He tossed and turned, showing no sign of wanting to sleep.
This isn't the first or second time Bai Yi has brought up divorce.
When Wang Ye first heard her say she wanted a divorce, his immediate thought was that she didn't want to pay back the money.
Therefore, he would never let Bai Yi get a divorce so easily.
But now, whenever he hears that Bai Yi wants a divorce, he feels inexplicably panicked.
But what I was worried about wasn't that she wouldn't pay me back.
However, Wang Ye was also very clear in his heart that if Bai Yi was really determined to divorce him because she couldn't accept He Fen's decision to have a child, then...
He actually had no solution at all.
Because he didn't dare to tell He Fen the truth about his relationship with Bai Yi, she gave up the idea of having a child.
He didn't have the ability to tell Bai Yi that if all else failed, the two of them could just have a child for my mother.
Wang Ye laughed at himself inwardly, wondering if Bai Yi's desire to divorce him would only deepen if he actually said that.
Wang Ye became increasingly agitated the more he thought about it.
Although their current situation is indeed not suitable for having children, even if he and Bai Yi were to fall in love and get together, he has not considered having children for at least the next two or three years.
Having taken care of Linlin for several months, how could Wang Ye not know how difficult it is to raise a child?
However, it's one thing if the circumstances don't allow it, and it's another thing if Bai Yi doesn't want to.
Does she genuinely not want children, or is it because the person she's supposed to have a child with is him, which is why she doesn't want them?
Otherwise, why would they be in such a hurry to get a divorce?
Wang Ye pondered and pondered, which caused him to suffer from insomnia; he barely slept at all throughout the night.
Around 11 a.m., the waitresses and several older women from the kitchen came to the restaurant.
When Wang Ye came out for breakfast with his hair all messy, everyone was stunned.
Having not slept all night, he actually felt a bit sleepy at this time. He went to the bathroom to wash his face and came out saying to everyone, "Stop looking at me, hurry up and eat, we still have work to do later."
Wang Ye had just put a fried dough stick into his mouth when his phone rang.
He glanced at the number and saw it was He Fen calling.
He didn't want to answer at first, but after thinking about it, he picked up anyway.
He had thought about it last night. If he wanted He Fen to give up urging them to have a child, he would have to go along with He Fen's wishes more.
The more you disobey her, the more she pressures you.
"Hello, Mom," Wang Ye answered the phone.
He Fen said, "We have guests at home, so come back now."
"Guests?" Wang Ye asked, puzzled. "What guests? Do I have to go back?"
"Don't ask anymore, just come back, hurry up!"
He Fen hung up the phone before Wang Ye could speak.
Wang Ye was full of questions, but He Fen told him to go back, so he couldn't refuse.
He ate a couple of bites quickly and then went home.
When Wang Ye arrived home, before he had even stepped inside, he heard voices coming from inside.
"Auntie, shall I help you?"
"No need, no need. The kitchen is full of fumes, don't let it bother you. Go sit on the sofa, it'll be ready soon."
Upon closer listening, Wang Ye almost couldn't recognize his own mother's voice.
When did He Fen start speaking to others so politely?
Wang Ye went inside and stood at the doorway to change his shoes. "Mom, I'm home."
Turning my head, I saw a woman sitting on the sofa in the living room.
She wore a low ponytail, a white shirt, and a black skirt that went past her knees, with light makeup on her face.
Seeing Wang Ye enter, she stood up, smiled, and greeted him, "Hello."
Wang Ye looked at the woman with a puzzled expression.
Who is this?
Just then, He Fen came out of the kitchen and introduced her to Wang Ye with a smile, "Xiao Ye, this is your cousin's sister-in-law. Mom went out to buy groceries today and just happened to run into her. Isn't that a coincidence?"
The woman extended her hand to Wang Ye. "You must be Wang Ye. Hello, my name is Zhou Hui."
