Chapter 782 Should we stay?

Chapter 782 Should we stay?

Bai Yi finally couldn't resist and took a small bite.

The taste is really quite good.

Wang Ye slightly raised his chin and asked, "How is it? My cooking skills haven't gotten worse, have they?"

Bai Yi nodded in agreement. "It's quite delicious."

The family of three sat on the sofa and finished their noodles.

Bai Yi had eaten her fill, but she still faced another problem.

She pursed her lips, looking at Wang Ye with a conflicted expression, "Are you really going to stay?"

Wang Ye had already stepped into the guest room when he heard Bai Yi's question, and his expression changed. "What...what do you mean? You don't want me to stay?"

"no……"

Since she rented this house, she has basically never lived with Wang Ye.

It wasn't that she disliked Wang Ye, she just felt a little uncomfortable with him.

Wang Ye didn't feel anything was wrong at all. He yawned and said, "Go to sleep early, we have to go to the store tomorrow."

Bai Yi slapped his forehead, inwardly scolding himself for thinking so much.

It's raining outside and it's hard to get a taxi, so what's wrong with him staying here for the night?

And it doesn't mean anything.

What is she not used to?

When Bai Yi was changing Linlin's pajamas, she noticed that Wang Ye hadn't appeared.

He asked doubtfully, "Mom, where's Uncle? Did he go back?"

Bai Yi said, "No, he sleeps in the guest room."

Linlin's eyes were full of confusion. "Why doesn't Uncle sleep with us? Teacher said that a family should be together all the time."

Bai Yi didn't know how to explain it to Lin Lin.

A child this age already has his own worldview. Although he may not express it well, he understands it very well.

After thinking it over, Bai Yi came up with a suitable reason: "Because Uncle has a bit of a cold, he's afraid of infecting Linlin, so he can't stay with us anymore."

Bai Yi never expected that her casual words to coax Linlin would actually become a reality a few hours later.

In the middle of the night, Bai Yi was asleep when he vaguely heard rustling sounds coming from the living room.

Her heart tightened instantly, and she was wide awake.

She recalled that the living room door was indeed locked when she went to bed that night.

Could it be that a thief picked the lock and broke in to steal something?

Bai Yi threw back the covers and tiptoed out of the living room.

The living room was dark, with the lights off.

Bai Yi saw a figure bending down and pulling open a drawer, seemingly searching for something.

Bai Yi felt a chill run down her spine and instinctively wanted to shout, but the next second, her voice got stuck in her throat.

"Why are you awake?" It was Wang Ye's voice, but it didn't sound like his.

Bai Yi hurriedly went over and turned on the light.

Upon closer inspection, it was indeed Wang Ye.

Bai Yi breathed a sigh of relief, but then asked in confusion, "What are you looking for so suspiciously? Why didn't you turn on the lights?"

"I was worried about waking you up, so I went out to find some medicine, but I couldn't find any after a long time, and I still woke you up."

Bai Yi is a light sleeper, and even if no one disturbs her, she can wake up several times a night.

"Medicine? What medicine?" Bai Yi asked suspiciously. Why would he need to take medicine for no reason?

However, she soon noticed that Wang Ye's expression seemed a little off.

She then realized that her voice had sounded a little off earlier.

She rushed over and asked, "Do you have a fever?"

Wang Ye touched his forehead. "Do I have a fever? I don't know, but my head feels really dizzy."

Bai Yi pursed her lips.

People with fevers are like drunk people who claim they're not drunk; they're never even aware that they have a fever.

Bai Yi was too lazy to ask him anymore and went straight to touch him.

It's a bit hot, but not too bad.

Wang Ye was startled, "What...what are you doing?"

"Let me check if you have a fever, why do you want to?"

Wang Ye's head was spinning, but his logic was exceptionally clear.

Why do people touch their hands when they have a fever?

It made him inexplicably nervous.

"Sit down, I'll go find your medicine." Bai Yi pulled Wang Ye to sit down on the sofa.

Wang Ye was very obedient and sat on the sofa without moving.

Bai Yi returned to her bedroom and opened her suitcase.

She always prepares medicine before going on long trips, and her small medicine bag contains some fever reducers that she hadn't finished taking before.

She took the medicine and came out of the bedroom, just in time to see Wang Ye sitting quietly on the sofa.

For a fleeting moment, Bai Yi almost mistook Wang Ye for Linlin.

Because of his appearance, he really looks just like an obedient little child.

Bai Yi went to the kitchen to pour a glass of water, then walked up to Wang Ye and said, "Take your medicine first. If your fever doesn't go down in an hour, I'll take you to the hospital."

"good."

Wang Ye put the medicine in his mouth, then took a sip of water and swallowed it.

After taking the medicine, he quietly looked at Bai Yi without saying a word.

Bai Yi was puzzled. "Why are you looking at me like that? Take your medicine and go back to your room to sleep. If you still feel unwell, just tell me."

"Okay." Wang Ye hesitated for two seconds before nodding.

He stood up and walked step by step into the guest room.

Bai Yi was amused by his slow reaction.

Other people are only confused when they're drunk or not fully awake, but he's different. When he gets sick, he becomes like a child, and you have to teach him everything before he understands.

Bai Yi turned off the living room lights and went back to the bedroom.

Before going to sleep, she was worried about how to get Wang Ye to the hospital if his fever got worse in the middle of the night.

Fortunately, Wang Ye's fever subsided after taking the medicine, and he was fine until the next morning.

Wang Ye himself didn't expect that he would suddenly develop a fever.

He felt it was because the wind was a bit too strong when he rode his electric bike last night.

Wang Ye remembered that he had gotten up to look for medicine last night because he had a fever, but he couldn't find the medicine and had woken Bai Yi up.

In the end, Bai Yi found her the medicine.

Wang Ye got out of bed after lifting the covers. When he came out of the guest room, he saw that the door to the bedroom opposite was not closed.

There was no one in the bed, and the blankets were neatly made.

Wang Ye looked into the kitchen, but there was still no one there.

He noticed that there was breakfast on the table, along with a note.

One look at the handwriting and you know it was written by Bai Yi.

"I took Linlin to school. I have an appointment with a client at noon, so I probably won't be able to go to the store. I bought you breakfast, eat it while it's hot. The medicine is on the table too. If you really feel unwell, remember to go to the hospital."

Bai Yi isn't very good at cooking, and there's not much food at home, so she has to buy breakfast outside.

However, Wang Ye enjoyed the breakfast he bought.

The familiar taste suddenly seemed even more delicious.

After having breakfast, Wang Ye contacted the repair shop to have his electric scooter towed back.

Although many people buy cars now, especially luxury cars, for Wang Ye, no matter how expensive the car is, riding his little electric scooter is still the most comfortable.

It's not only economical but also convenient.
