Chapter 821 Crying at the Wrong Grave
Wang Ye has been taken to the emergency room, and no one knows his condition.
Qiao Xing's hand was held in Qin Ce's palm, and she couldn't help but tighten her grip. She took a deep breath and walked over there.
The first person to see Qiao Xing was Wang Qin. A look of surprise flashed across her face, and then she lowered her voice and spoke softly to Qiao Xing, "You're pregnant, so it shouldn't be convenient for you to come."
Qiao Xing glanced at the operating room light. "How is my cousin?"
Wang Qin shook her head. "When we arrived, Xiao Ye had already been rushed in for emergency treatment. Thank God, he should be alright. He's still so young..."
Qiao Xing walked to Bai Yi's side. She was like a soulless doll, as if she would break at the slightest touch.
She wanted to say a few words of comfort to Bai Yi, but at this moment, any words of comfort seemed utterly inadequate.
Like everyone else, Qiao Xing could only silently pray for Wang Ye, hoping that he would be safe and sound.
I don't know how much time passed, but the operating room lights finally went out.
The doctor came out, and everyone rushed over. He Fen grabbed the doctor's hand and asked excitedly, "Doctor, how is my son!"
The doctor sighed helplessly, "I'm sorry, we did our best."
He Fen's body stiffened abruptly, her vision went black, and she fainted.
"Fen! Fen!" Wang Yue didn't even have time to grieve before he quickly helped He Fen up and called out to the doctor.
Wang Qin silently shed tears, and Lin Xi was also crying.
In an instant, grief swept through everyone's hearts.
Perhaps it was because the news was too sudden and heavy, but when Qiao Xing heard those words from the doctor, her stomach twitched for a moment.
She took a deep breath, not having time to process what had happened.
He was looking at Bai Yi on the side.
She was perhaps too grief-stricken to even cry anymore.
No one can accept the fact that Wang Ye is gone, but they have no choice but to accept it.
Qiao Xing was worried that Bai Yi would get into trouble if she kept it all bottled up, so she forced herself to suppress her grief and said to Bai Yi, "If you're feeling bad, just cry it out."
She would rather she be like He Fen, crying and making a scene, and then fainting.
But Bai Yi appeared very calm. She even spoke to Qiao Xing in her usual conversational tone, saying, "No, he won't die. God wouldn't be so unfair..."
With so many people there, how could it possibly be Wang Ye?
She didn't believe it.
He wanted her to return the money to him, right? If he died, wouldn't all that money be gone?
He also said that even if Linlin is not his biological child, he is still his son!
If he dies, won't Linlin be without a father in the future?
Bai Yi felt that Wang Ye was the one who couldn't bear to die.
He also said he wanted to open a new store so that everyone could try the dishes he had learned.
Tears started falling without her noticing, hot teardrops landing on the back of Bai Yi's hand.
She suddenly thought that if only she could have spoken out those thoughts hidden deep in her heart sooner.
If only she had recognized her own feelings sooner.
If only she could be a little braver.
Wouldn't things have turned out differently then?
At least, unlike now, she won't be left with nothing but regret.
Everyone present hoped that this was a joke played by God, or just a dream.
The rain will stop tomorrow, and Wang Ye will go to the hot pot restaurant as usual, happily calculating how much he earned yesterday. Nothing will change.
Perhaps because everyone was too saddened and unable to accept the fact that Wang Ye had left, they began to hallucinate.
"Why are you all crying here?"
That was Wang Ye's voice.
Fate really played a joke on them, a joke that was both laughable and heartbreaking.
Wang Ye was indeed at the accident scene, and the accident was caused by him.
He was lucky; when the red SUV came hurtling towards him, he reacted quickly and dodged it.
However, due to excessive speed and slippery road surface, the person and the vehicle were thrown several meters away.
Fortunately, aside from some minor abrasions, he was otherwise unharmed.
When he staggered to his feet, he found that everything around him was in chaos.
The red SUV crashed into a roadside flowerbed, thick smoke billowing from its hood, as if it were about to explode at any moment.
Bystanders gathered, some called the police, others tried to help, but the driver's seatbelt malfunctioned and couldn't be unfastened.
Seeing that the car was about to explode, Wang Ye disregarded his injuries and rushed over to see if he could lend a hand.
However, when he got closer, he realized that the person sitting in the driver's seat was Zhou Hui.
Blood was streaming from her forehead, and she lay unconscious on the steering wheel, unresponsive to anyone calling her name.
Wang Ye didn't have time to think about why Zhou Hui would hit him with her car for no reason. He quickly worked with the others to figure out a way to get her out of the way first.
Zhou Hui was lucky; everyone managed to loosen the seatbelt and pull her out. The next second, there was a loud bang, and the car exploded.
Zhou Hui and Wang Ye were later taken to the hospital.
Wang Ye didn't know how Zhou Hui was doing. After the nurse treated his wounds, he prepared to go home.
To his surprise, he had only taken a few steps when he saw a group of people standing at the entrance of the emergency room, crying and sobbing. Upon closer inspection, he realized they were all his family members.
When Wang Ye's voice suddenly rang out, everyone thought they had misheard, and no one looked up.
Only Qin Ce looked up at him upon hearing this.
A flicker of surprise crossed his eyes, which then returned to calm, and he breathed a sigh of relief.
It's good that you're alright.
Qin Ce patted Qiao Xing on the shoulder. Qiao Xing looked up and looked at him in confusion.
Qin Ce gestured to her with his eyes, and Qiao Xing followed his gaze, involuntarily standing up.
She looked on incredulously.
"cousin?!"
Wang Ye walked towards them, "What's going on? Why are you looking at me like that?"
Wang Qin also realized what was happening. She could hardly believe her eyes and quickly went over. Only when she grabbed Wang Ye's arm did she realize that he was still alive.
"Xiao Ye, you...you're still alive!"
Wang Ye looked completely bewildered. "Auntie, what are you saying? Of course I'm alive!"
After recovering, He Fen stared at Wang Ye for a long while, as if trying to confirm whether the person in front of her was still alive.
Then she lunged at him, crying, "Son!"
Wang Ye was overwhelmed and took two steps back. He supported He Fen, his doubts growing stronger.
"No, what are you all doing here? What happened?"
Wang Yue said, "We were just about to ask you what happened! Weren't you being resuscitated? The doctor just said you..."
Wang Yue couldn't continue speaking, but Wang Ye seemed to have figured out what was going on.
He was both amused and exasperated. "You've got it wrong. The person in there isn't me. I'm perfectly fine, nothing's wrong with me."
