Extra 29

Extra 29

Qin Anning hung up the phone without hesitation.

Qin Man called several more times afterward, but Qin Anning chose to ignore her. Knowing that Qin Anning wouldn't pay attention to her, Qin Man stopped calling.

Qin Anning threw herself into her work and before she knew it, evening had fallen.

Fu Yin returned from outside, and the receptionist called out to him, "Mr. Fu, there's a package for you here."

Fu Yin paused, nodded, and didn't seem to mind. "Take this to my office for me."

He saw that the finance office door was still open, so he turned around and went inside. Qin Anning was buried in a pile of documents and did not see him come in.

"peaceful."

Qin Anning suddenly looked up and saw that it was Fu Yin who had returned. She smiled and said, "You're back so soon?"

Fu Yin glanced at his watch and sighed, "You've been too busy. It's late, go home now."

"Oh, really?" Qin Anning glanced at the time and realized that she had been busy for more than six hours without realizing it. She smiled and said, "Then wait a moment, I'll finish processing this invoice."

Fu Yin nodded, and decided not to go back to his own office, but simply sat down next to her and waited.

After waiting for about twenty minutes, Qin Anning finally finished her work. She stretched and sighed, "I've been playing at home for too long, and suddenly going back to work is exhausting."

She quickly tidied the table, picked up her bag, and stood up. "I'm ready, let's go."

They locked the door and walked out of the company together.

It was already dark outside. Qin Anning took his arm and took a deep breath.

Then, she turned to look at Fu Yin and said, "I'm sorry about Qin Man today."

Fu Yin glanced at her as well. "No need to apologize. Since she's your relative, it's only right that you treat her well."

“If she continues like this, you don’t need to give her face. But there probably won’t be a future for her.” Qin Anning smiled, but seeing Fu Yin’s serious expression, she subconsciously asked, “What’s wrong? Is something bothering you?”

"No, we haven't eaten yet. Let's go eat first," Fu Yin said, shaking his head.

Qin Anning stared at him for a while, but couldn't discern anything from his face, so she didn't take it to heart.

The two chatted casually on the way, and Qin Anning asked about the company's situation.

Logically speaking, everyone should be on holiday for the Chinese New Year. I wonder what he's been busy with these days.

Fu Yin told her that he had gone abroad to meet several clients, and Qin Anning finally understood why he hadn't replied to her messages—it was because of the time difference.

After the two randomly chose a restaurant and sat down, Qin Man called again.

Qin Anning really didn't want to answer, but she had no choice but to.

Qin Man woke up. She was a little scared to be alone in her room and hoped that Qin Anning would come and keep her company.

Qin Anning said irritably, "You're a grown woman, what are you afraid of?"

Qin Man said, "I'm not familiar with this place. I don't know anyone here. Of course I'm scared. Weren't you scared when you lived alone?"

Qin Anning was speechless. Indeed, if she were alone in an unfamiliar place, she would also be afraid.

"Okay, okay, I'll come find you later."

"Okay, then remember to bring me some food, I'm starving."

"Can't you order takeout?"

"I dare not order. I'm alone. What if the delivery driver tries something bad with me?"

Qin Anning was speechless once again, and she decisively hung up the phone.

She looked up at Fu Yin, "That..."

Fu Yin had already guessed from her conversation. He nodded and said, "Go and keep her company. She's new here and not familiar with the place yet. You should show her some hospitality."

"Alright then, you'll have to go back by yourself later."

"It's alright, I'll take you there first." Fu Yin put some food in her bowl. "Eat first."

Qin Anning finished her meal feeling depressed, and then Fu Yin took her to find Qin Man.

Qin Anning took out her phone and called Yang Jingyu, "Yang Jingyu, when are you coming?"

"My mom doesn't want me to leave, so she wants me to stay a few more days. What's wrong? Do you miss me?"

"Stop talking nonsense, come over here right now. I've arranged a beautiful neighbor for you, come and take care of her for me."

Yang Jingyu perked up at this question, "Really? Do you have any photos?"

"Yes, I'll send you her WeChat in a bit. You can chat with her properly. Don't say I didn't introduce you to her. Make the most of it."

After hanging up the phone, Qin Anning sent Qin Man's WeChat ID.

Fortunately, there's Yang Jingyu; otherwise, she really wouldn't be able to withstand Qin Man's antics. Once Yang Jingyu arrives, let him have his way with the chaos.

Soon, Fu Yin escorted her to the entrance of the residential complex and then left after seeing her to the elevator.

Qin Anning subconsciously turned around and saw Fu Yin's back. She felt that he seemed to be preoccupied with something.

She sighed and pressed the elevator button.

Qin Man was curled up alone on the sofa, wrapped in a blanket, with the TV volume turned up very high.

This was the scene Qin Anning saw when she arrived.

Qin Man had never lived alone since she was a child. She always had bodyguards and drivers with her wherever she went. This seemed to be the first time she had lived independently.

Upon seeing Qin Anning, she wore a mournful expression, and a hint of regret could be seen on her face.

Qin Anning walked over with the takeout and plopped down next to her. "Do you regret coming here with me? Fine, or I'll take you home."

Qin Man wavered for a moment, but then, as if remembering something, she immediately shook her head. "Why go back? When I came here, I swore to my dad that I would work here. If I go back after less than a day, don't I have any pride?"

Qin Anning found it somewhat amusing. "Weren't you scared?"

"This is just temporary, it's not my first time here." Qin Man picked up the takeout on the table, opened it without caring what was inside, and started eating with her chopsticks.

They must be really starving.

When she came during the day, she was full of fighting spirit and even had the mood to make things difficult for Fu Yin.

He's like a completely different person now.

"Eat slowly, no one's going to take it from you."

Qin Man wolfed down her takeout, then let out a burp. "I'm full. If you had come any later, I would have starved to death."

"If you're ordering takeout and you're worried about the delivery person, just ask them to leave it in the lobby downstairs and you can go down and pick it up yourself."

Qin Man's eyes lit up. "Oh right, why didn't you say so sooner?"

Qin Anning is now starting to worry about her, wondering if she can survive here.

"I've given your WeChat ID to Yang Jingyu. Remember to add him. He'll be here in a couple of days. If you need anything in the future, just contact him directly. He lives next door to you."

"Okay, okay." Qin Man looked around the house and thought to herself, "Since I'm going to buy a house anyway, I might as well just buy this one. I wonder if I have enough money."

"That's definitely enough, but why do you want to buy it?"

"It's more reassuring to live in my own house. Could you ask around for me tomorrow?" Qin Man pleaded, pulling on her arm again.

Unable to resist her pleading, Qin Anning had no choice but to agree.
