Extra 21
Qin Man didn't dwell on these things. She smiled and said, "Whatever. Anyway, I'm going to Haishi with you. I have to go to work."
"You can find a job in Beijing, why do you insist on going to Shanghai?"
Qin Man pouted, "I just want to go with you. Beijing is boring. I've already agreed not to go to your company. If you still don't let me go with you, then you don't consider me a sister."
Qin Anning was defeated by her and sighed helplessly, "Alright, let's go together then."
Qin Man finally smiled and stopped watching the live stream. She hurriedly left the live stream room, but the male streamer kept sending her messages.
She picked it up and glanced at it; it was mostly messages about relationships. Qin Man replied to him, telling him she had guests, and then the two ended their conversation.
Qin Anning was surprised to see that she had even added the livestreamer's WeChat.
"Have you met this streamer?"
Qin Man laughed and said, "No, he did want to come to see me, but I don't want to see him. I still prefer him online. If we meet in person, it would be the same as those male models in the club."
Qin Anning was shocked again, "You've even hired male models?"
Qin Man gave her a strange look. "Didn't you order it?"
"I didn't, I don't go to those places. You brat, do you know you're picking up male models?"
Qin Man made a shushing gesture, "Shh! Don't speak so loudly, okay? My dad might hear you."
She then explained, "What's wrong with hiring male models? I didn't do anything else."
Qin Anning sighed. She didn't do anything else, but people wanted to do something to her. They really didn't know the wickedness of human nature.
If she were to encounter those wolves with ulterior motives, they could do something to her, even get her pregnant, and she could achieve a leap in social class.
Qin Anning tried to persuade her with all her might, but Qin Man just let it go in one ear and out the other, and even seemed a little impatient.
"You're so long-winded, just like my mom. Anning, are you getting old and starting to nag?"
Qin Anning was so angry by her words that she almost vomited blood.
After taking several deep breaths, Qin Anning calmed herself down and then shut up. She couldn't persuade her anymore, so she gave up.
After chatting about other things, Qin Man suddenly asked about her boyfriend, "Do you have a boyfriend?"
This question caught Qin Anning off guard. "Huh?"
Qin Man rolled her eyes at her. "Judging from your expression, you must have a boyfriend, right? Who is he? Do I know him?"
"I don't know him." Qin Anning didn't hide anything. If Qin Man went to Haishi, she would inevitably have to meet Fu Yin.
It's better to be honest and tell her some things, so that it won't be exposed when you meet her.
"She actually has a boyfriend! I'm so envious. It makes me want to date too."
"Then why don't you go and talk to them? There are so many handsome guys out there, surely you'll find someone you like?"
Qin Man shrugged. "It's because there are too many that it's dazzling, and I can't find the last one I like."
Qin Anning found it somewhat amusing, but she could understand her. Everyone around her knew her identity, so it was inevitable that they would wear a mask when interacting with her.
It's normal for Qin Man to feel uncomfortable around these people and to look down on them.
Qin Man pestered her to tell her story about her boyfriend, so Qin Anning gave a general account, which made Qin Man's eyes sparkle with envy.
Finally, she reminded Qin Man not to reveal her identity, and Qin Man nodded hurriedly and swore that she would not reveal her identity.
The whole family had dinner together in the evening, and the atmosphere at the table was harmonious and joyful, finally bringing the festive spirit of the Chinese New Year.
Qin Anning messaged Fu Yin, telling him that she and her family had eaten, and that it was all about trivial things.
Fu Yin did not reply after reading it, because talking to Qin Anning about these trivial matters would take up a lot of time.
Qin Anning sighed as she looked at the chat box that hadn't received a reply for a long time, sent a "goodnight" message, and went to bed.
Although the villa was lively and she had no shortage of playmates, she would think of Fu Yin whenever things got lively.
She fantasized about the day when she could sit among these people and see Fu Yin among them.
The longer they were apart, the more she missed Fu Yin, especially when he didn't reply to her messages.
The more lively the place, the lonelier she felt.
She sat listlessly in the corner, resting her chin on her hand and lost in thought.
Qiao Xing noticed that she seemed preoccupied, so he got up and sat down next to her. "An Ning, what's wrong?"
Qin Anning snapped out of her reverie, glanced at Qiao Xing, and forced a smile. "It's alright, Mom. I can't really join their conversation anyway. I'm just contemplating life here."
Qiao Xing glanced back at his relatives and friends, a hint of disbelief flashing across his face.
She used to feel out of place among these people, but as she gradually became familiar with them, she became one of them.
However, she didn't think Qin Anning couldn't fit in with them, since she had been in contact with these people since childhood and was very familiar with them.
She asked, "Is something on your mind?"
Qin Anning shook her head, "No, what could be on my mind?"
Qiao Xing smiled and said, "If you have something on your mind, just say it. Don't keep it to yourself."
Qin Anning hesitated for a moment, but she didn't know how to start, or even what she was struggling with, so she shook her head.
"It's really nothing, Mom, you don't need to worry about me."
Qiao Xing didn't press further, nor did she truly ignore her. "I don't have much to talk about with them. How about we go out for a walk?"
Qin Anning thought about it for a moment, and since there was nothing else to do here, she nodded in agreement.
After saying goodbye to Qin Ce, the mother and daughter went out.
Sitting in the car, Qin Anning couldn't shake off her unease. It wasn't anything serious, but she just couldn't feel happy.
She would take out her phone every now and then, only to be disappointed each time.
Qiao Xing noticed her actions, hesitated for a moment, and tentatively asked, "How's your relationship with Fu Yin going?"
Qin Anning came back to her senses and sighed, "It's the same as always, no, he's even busier now, he doesn't even reply to my messages anymore."
When he said the last sentence, the obvious disappointment in his tone was noticed by Qiao Xing.
Qiao Xing followed up on her words, "Then he's a lot like your dad used to be. When he's busy, he won't reply to messages. Every time I chat with him, he's cold and distant, which makes me wonder if he doesn't like me anymore."
Qin Anning looked surprised. "Really?"
Before she was with Fu Yin, she had never experienced this kind of neglect, so Qiao Xing naturally had never told her about these things.
"Of course it's true. I still have the chat history saved, and sometimes I even use it to confront him."
Qin Anning was skeptical. Judging from their interactions, her father was completely devoted to his wife, so she really didn't believe it.
Qiao Xing took out her phone and casually scrolled through it. "Don't even mention the past, it's still the same now."
Qin Anning leaned over to take a look, and then couldn't help but laugh.
Qiao Xing sighed helplessly. He had changed somewhat, adding an emoji to his replies, but these emojis were always both funny and exasperating.
Smiles, roses, hearts, thumbs-up—who wouldn't laugh when they see these?
