Extra 51

Extra 51

"Yes, yes, I'm useless, okay?" Qin Man said helplessly with a self-deprecating laugh. Sometimes when she thought about her idleness, she would feel lost and anxious.

But most of the time, he still eats and drinks as usual, thinking that there's nothing wrong with being a good-for-nothing.

Like many others, Qin Man oscillates between self-reflection and self-persuasion every day.

One moment I feel like I'm so useless, and the next I feel like this is how I should be.

Bai Lin had already gone to get the skewers for them. Barbecue is mainly about the seasonings, not the food itself.

Even grilled slippers taste good as long as the seasonings are right.

He grabbed a few things and handed them to the owner. He then sat back down at the table and listened to the two chatting. He barely spoke, remaining just a background figure.

Perhaps it was late at night, but Qin Man felt a little depressed.

She wanted to do something to realize her own value in life, but Qin Anning just ignored her.

After all, Qin Anning had heard these words countless times. Qin Man often sent her messages in the middle of the night, expressing her confusion.

At first, Qin Anning would comfort her, but later she simply ignored such messages.

Before long, the barbecue arrived. Qin Man was still complaining about the high calories and couldn't bring herself to eat it, but Qin Anning had already picked up a skewer and stuffed it into her mouth.

She spent half a day mentally preparing herself, but still couldn't resist the hunger and finally picked up a skewer of gluten and ate it.

As soon as she took a bite, Qin Man didn't care about gaining weight anymore. She wolfed down her food, eating even more than Qin Anning.

And the two of them weren't satisfied with just that, so they ordered two more servings of fried rice.

The food at this restaurant is quite good; even Bai Lin ate a bowl of egg fried rice.

After eating and drinking her fill, Qin Man let out a burp and said, "I feel like I've finally come back to life."

Bai Lin said, "Since you've all eaten, let's go to the hotel to rest. It's getting late."

The rain has lessened considerably now, turning from a downpour into a drizzle.

They arrived at a nearby hotel and booked two rooms, one for Qin Man and one for Qin Anning.

They went to bed too late the night before, so the two of them didn't get up until noon the next day, and they were still woken up by hunger.

Qin Man yawned and said, "It's noon again. Are we going to have to take the bus again today?"

Qin Anning thought about it and wasn't quite sure, so she decided to go and discuss it with Bai Lin.

If neither of them agrees to continue, then this trip will have to end here.

After telling Bai Lin about it in his room, Bai Lin hesitated for a moment before saying, "We've come this far, wouldn't it be a shame to leave with regrets if we didn't finish this?"

Qin Anning paused for a moment, then smiled. "Yes, if we don't go and see it, we might keep thinking about that place forever."

The roads we haven't traveled are always the most beautiful in our memories.

These words were probably implying something, and Bai Lin smiled and agreed, "That's right."

Qin Anning added, "I think Qin Man can't hold on any longer. If she doesn't want to go, let her go back on her own. Let's not make things difficult for her."

"You can go and talk to her."

Qin Anning nodded, went back to find Qin Man, and asked for Qin Man's opinion.

Qin Man's eyes darted around. "Can I really leave?"

Qin Anning said helplessly, "You're not a prisoner, of course you can leave. If you really don't want to go, am I supposed to force you to go?"

Qin Man chuckled and grabbed her arm. "I really don't want to leave. Anyway, you'll have your cousin with you, so you won't be lonely. You guys go ahead, I'll head home this afternoon."

"Okay, then remember to send me a message when you arrive." Qin Anning didn't force her; she didn't want to go, and forcing her to go would make everyone unhappy.

"Yes, I will definitely work hard when I get back and make our company even better."

"Okay, then I'll be waiting for you to make the company great."

The two chatted for a while longer, then had lunch. Since they had nothing to do in the afternoon, they took Qin Man to the airport with Bai Lin.

The two watched her go through security before leaving the airport. When they got back to the car, there were only the two of them left.

For a moment, the atmosphere in the car became somewhat awkward.

Strangely enough, this was the first time the two of them, who had known each other for so long, had experienced such an inexplicable awkwardness.

Bai Lin drove back to the city, his tone somewhat unnatural, "Where to next?"

"Um, how about we go shopping in the city?"

"OK."

Back in the city, they parked the car and strolled along the streets.

It doesn't look very lively during the day, probably because everyone is at work. There are few pedestrians on the street, but there are many shops.

As the two wandered around, they actually ended up in a place with a bit more people. It looked like a commercial street with lots of snack stalls and various other shops.

Qin Anning strolled around, buying whatever caught her eye, including some snacks she'd never seen before.

Bai Lin stayed by her side, mainly to pay for her and help her carry things.

Qin Anning stopped in her tracks as she passed a photo studio.

It wasn't that she wanted to take pictures, but the words "photo booth" on the shop sign made her feel like it was something from the last century, and she was amazed to still see it now.

"Let's go in and take a look!"

Qin Anning strode inside. There were several other people there, probably all curious about the photo booths.

Moreover, there are no staff members here; whether it's taking photos or developing them, everything is done automatically by the equipment.

She turned to Bai Lin and asked, "Cousin, want to take a picture?"

Bai Lin glanced at the row of cubicles, hesitated for a moment, then nodded in agreement, "Okay."

The two found an empty room and went inside. There was only one machine in the room, and the space was very small. There was an electronic screen in front and several buttons below, with their functions clearly marked.

After scanning the QR code with my phone, the machine unlocked automatically, and the upper bodies of the two people appeared on the screen.

Qin Anning looked at herself and Bai Lin on the screen and couldn't help but laugh. "There are even stickers. This is so ugly."

She randomly clicked on the stickers; there were butterflies, flowers, cartoon characters, and ears.

Qin Anning couldn't help but laugh, especially when she saw the pig nose on Bai Lin's face.

Bai Lin glanced at her helplessly. What's the difference between this and the beauty camera on a mobile phone?

The only difference might be that the screen is larger and the resolution is worse.

Perhaps because she had seen too many serious Bai Lins, Qin Anning laughed for a long time when she suddenly saw such a comical Bai Lin, and tears streamed down her face.

After she had finished laughing, she wiped away her tears and said, "Let's film this!"

She raised her hand and pressed the shutter button, and just like that, the two people wearing pig noses were frozen in time.

After a brief pause of a few seconds, the image resumed moving, and Qin Anning continued to select the next sticker.

After browsing around, she spotted a pink bow headband with many small pink butterflies twirling around it.

Unsurprisingly, Qin Anning laughed again upon seeing the headband on Bai Lin's head.
