Bai Lin stared at her for a while, then sighed, probably thinking of something.
He then sat down next to Qin Anning and said in a low voice, "Anning, are you angry because I forgot to call you on the phone?"
Qin Anning was stunned for a moment, seemingly not expecting him to think that way, and it took her a while to react.
She retorted, "Of course not, I just want to go back. Let's go back, okay?"
Bai Lin stared at Qin Anning for a long time, then remained silent for a moment. Seeing the determination in her eyes, Bai Lin nodded, "Alright then."
Qin Anning then smiled and said, "Let's go together next time we have the chance."
"Hmm, are you feeling better now?"
"I'm much better now. I've had a lot of fun these past few days. Thank you, cousin."
The smile on her face seemed genuine, and Bai Lin smiled back.
"Let's grab a bite to eat first, and then head back."
Qin Anning nodded. "Okay."
The two got up and left the hotel, wandered around outside for a bit, and then found a restaurant to eat at.
Qin Anning did not show any displeasure because the trip was interrupted; on the contrary, she was eager to go back as soon as possible.
She should have realized it sooner; Bai Lin always went along with her wishes, and if she asked him if he was busy, he definitely wouldn't tell the truth.
He hadn't shown any sign of it after all these days, which touched Qin Anning, but she didn't want to let it interfere with his business.
After having dinner, the two drove back the way they came.
The journey back to Haishi from here is quite long; it will take at least a day's drive.
Qin Anning rested her chin on her hand, looking at the scenery outside the car window. Her mood was indeed not as depressed as before.
Now she feels that heartbreak isn't such a big deal, as long as she gets over it.
Since we set off in the afternoon, it was difficult to travel on the highway at night. So, we had to find a hotel to stay in for the night and continue our journey when it got light.
However, it was still early, and Qin Anning couldn't sleep, so the two sat on the hotel terrace, looking at the city in the distance.
This hotel is very nice; the room even has a terrace where you can sit, enjoy the view, and chat.
The two did not go out to eat, but ate the food delivered by the hotel in their hotel room.
Bai Lin, as if struck by a sudden thought, asked, "Did you tell Uncle Qin and the others?"
"What?" Qin Anning paused for a moment before realizing what he was asking, and shook her head, "Not yet."
He was referring to his relationship with Fu Yin.
Their affair was common knowledge, and she didn't know how to tell everyone. She felt ashamed to say it, that she had been dumped.
"I'll keep quiet for now, and tell them when I can't hide it anymore, or when I find my next partner, so they won't worry."
"The next one?" Bai Lin glanced at her.
Qin Anning laughed and said, "What's wrong? Just because I'm heartbroken doesn't mean I can't find someone else?"
Bai Lin chuckled, "No, it's good that you have this idea; it means you're almost over it."
Qin Anning was a little stunned, wondering if she had walked out too quickly.
Does this make me seem cold and indifferent?
But then she thought, she was the one who got dumped, not Fu Yin, so what's wrong with finding someone else?
Besides, who knows where the next one will be?
Finding a partner isn't like finding cabbage; you can't just find one whenever you want.
Qin Anning sighed and remained silent.
Bai Lin asked, "What kind of person are you looking for? I can keep an eye out for you."
Upon hearing this, Qin Anning gave Bai Lin a strange look.
“You haven’t even found it yourself, yet you’re worrying about mine. I’m not in a hurry, but I think you should be in a hurry.”
Bai Lin smiled and said, "I'm not in a hurry. Marriage is just an option, not a task that must be completed."
