Side Story 3: You're hopeless

Side Story 3: You're hopeless

An ambiguous atmosphere spread between the two, and just as they were about to kiss, Qin Anning suddenly turned her head away.

"Go and cook, I'm hungry."

Fu Yin paused for a moment, then chuckled helplessly, "Alright."

He released Qin Anning, picked up the vegetables from the ground, and turned to go into the kitchen.

Qin Anning breathed a sigh of relief and patted her heart, thankfully she had stopped in time.

She couldn't take that step before getting married; it was something she promised her mother, and she would definitely keep it!

Moreover, this is not only a promise to her mother, but also a responsibility to herself.

If love between two people is meant to last, why should they be together every day? True love is about self-control.

Qin Anning came to the kitchen. "Let me help you."

Fu Yin took the vegetables from her hand and patted her head. "No need, I can take care of things here. You can go out and have some fun."

Qin Anning was a little embarrassed. She scratched her head and said, "You see, you have to go to work and cook. Isn't that too tiring?"

"No, it's not hard work to cook for you."

Qin Anning felt a warmth in her heart. She looked at Fu Yin's well-defined face and thought about what had just happened.

She hesitated for a moment, then said, "That just now..."

"I was a bit impulsive. I'm sorry, I will respect your wishes." Fu Yin's expression was normal, showing no sign of being bothered by what had just happened.

Qin Anning had made it clear when they were together that even when they were on the verge of losing control, she would stop in time and Fu Yin would not get angry.

To be honest, Qin Anning sometimes felt quite guilty.

Qin Anning wanted to say something, but someone suddenly rang the doorbell. She had no choice but to swallow her words and go outside to open the door.

Upon opening the door, I saw Yang Jingyu standing outside.

"I knew it was you right away. Why do you keep coming here?"

Qin Anning looked unfriendly, which hurt Yang Jingyu deeply. He stood at the door with a pitiful expression, asking, "Have you eaten?"

Qin Anning glanced at him. "How come you're so poor?"

"It's all because of you!" Yang Jingyu muttered under his breath. Qin Anning didn't hear him clearly. "What did you say?"

Yang Jingyu immediately forced a harmless smile and waved his hand, "It's nothing, I just said I'm really hungry, please let me in!"

Qin Anning still let him in. This guy came to freeload every few days, and she and Fu Yin were already used to it.

This guy is really pitiful. He was inexplicably kicked out of the house by his dad, and even his allowance was cut off. With his meager salary now, after paying rent and utilities every month, he still owes 2,000 yuan to Alipay.

Of course, she didn't know the main reason why Yang Jingyu was in such a miserable state.

Little did she know that her Uncle Yang had been secretly plotting against her ever since she was born.

Fu Yin and Yang Jingyu were old acquaintances, so he wasn't surprised to see him. However, as men, Yang Jingyu, despite his cowardly demeanor, couldn't hide his true thoughts from Fu Yin's eyes.

Fu Yin pretended not to know anything, served the food to him, and greeted him casually.

"I didn't know you were coming, so I just made some simple dishes. Jingyu, please don't mind."

Yang Jingyu took the bowl and chopsticks from his hands and said with a smile, "I don't mind at all, Fu Yin, your cooking is excellent. I love your dishes the most."

"Then eat more."

"Okay, okay."

Yang Jingyu didn't stand on ceremony and stood up to serve himself rice, treating them like family.

Qin Anning watched him wolf down his food like a starving ghost, and the more she looked at him, the more disgusted she became.

She suddenly remembered something, "Oh right, Fu Yin, aren't you going to start a company? Look, isn't there a ready-made employee here?"

Yang Jingyu paused, his mouth still full of rice, and looked at Fu Yin blankly, mumbling, "What employee?"

Qin Anning told Yang Jingyu about Fu Yin's plan to start a company, and Yang Jingyu shook his head, saying, "No, no, I really like my current job."

"Can't you be a little more ambitious? With your meager salary, you'll starve to death sooner or later!"

"My dad won't let me starve to death."

Qin Anning rolled her eyes. "You're hopeless."

"I'm not going anyway." Yang Jingyu continued eating with his head down.

He works at a bubble tea shop now. Except for holidays when he's busy, he usually just slacks off. Although the salary is low, it's easy.

He didn't have Fu Yin's ambitions; he just wanted to give up and be a happy, laid-back guy.

Fu Yin said, "Since he's not going, let's not make things difficult for him."

Qin Anning grabbed Yang Jingyu's ear, "You're not going, huh? Don't even think about coming to my place for a free meal again!"

"Ouch..." Yang Jingyu covered his ears, glaring at Qin Anning with a mixture of grievance and anger. "Why did you insist that I go?"

"To save on wages."

"...You've gone too far!"

Qin Anning raised an eyebrow. "What did you say?"

"No, no, no, if I go, will they provide meals?"

Qin Anning laughed at his spineless attitude. "Keep me in check! What's wrong with you? All you do is eat. Are you a pig?"

"If meals are provided, I'll think about it."

"Are you still considering it?"

"No, no, I agree! Let go, your ear's going to fall off!"

Qin Anning then released her grip. "That's more like it."

Don't let Yang Jingyu's lack of ambition fool you; he earned his place in the same university as them through sheer ability. Moreover, he's been surrounded by elders since childhood, which has broadened his horizons considerably.

He has a broader perspective than the average college student, or even some people with work experience. Hiring someone like him would cost a lot of money.

He went there, and all he had to do was provide meals, which saved him a lot of money.

Qin Anning felt that she should also do something, otherwise how could she help Fu Yin earn five million in the remaining two years?

So she said, "Okay, I'm just lazing around at home anyway, I'll join in too."

Fu Yin was somewhat surprised. "An Ning, have you thought this through?"

"Do I even need to think about it? Of course I'll fully support you, not just in words, but in actions too! I'll stand with you through thick and thin."

Yang Jingyu twitched the corner of his mouth, "Can you wait until I finish eating before you start showing off your love? I can't even eat anymore."

"Then you'd better get out of here after you've finished eating."

"No!" Yang Jingyu filled another bowl with rice for himself. "I'm going to eat you all out of house and home!"

Qin Anning ignored him and went inside to get a card. "Your startup capital is with me. From now on, I'll be the company's accountant."

Yang Jingyu said, "Can you even do the math?"

Qin Anning couldn't resist wanting to pull his ear again, but Yang Jingyu quickly covered his ear, saying, "I'm just telling the truth!"

Even food can't shut you up!

Fu Yin said, "Let's eat first. Company matters need to be discussed in detail. There's no need to rush."
