Side Story 5: Acquaintances
Qin Anning looked as if she had seen a ghost, and moved to the side to distance herself from Yang Jingyu.
Her pupils dilated in shock. Pointing at Yang Jingyu, she stammered, "So you..."
Yang Jingyu realized what was happening and waved his hands repeatedly, "No, no, no, you misunderstood. It's my dad who likes people like you..."
Upon hearing this, Qin Anning was even more shocked.
Yang Jingyu awkwardly shut his mouth, feeling that the more he explained, the stranger it sounded.
"Forget it, I'm not going to explain anymore. I don't want a girlfriend anymore. Weren't we going to eat? Let's go, let's go eat."
Yang Jingyu ended the awkward conversation, but Qin Anning seemed to still be in shock.
She clutched her chest, looking at Yang Jingyu with a pained expression, "I never expected this, I treated you like a brother, and you actually had inappropriate thoughts about me."
"I didn't!" Yang Jingyu exclaimed, jumping up from the sofa. "I already told you it's not what you think."
Qin Anning seemed not to hear him and waved her hand, "Fine, I understand your feelings, but I'm really sorry, it's impossible for me to like you."
"All I can say is," she looked up at the sky at a 45-degree angle, "that we are not meant to be."
"Can you please stop being so dramatic?" Yang Jingyu said with a wry smile.
"Okay, I understand. I'll pretend I didn't hear what you said today, but don't say it again."
"What did I say?!"
Qin Anning gave him an approving look. "That's right. Just pretend you've forgotten. We'll still be good brothers in the future."
"..."
Yang Jingyu was so angry that he wanted to slam the door and leave.
Qin Anning laughed heartily, having returned to normal. "Alright, alright, stop fooling around, let's go eat."
She pulled Fu Yin along and shoved Yang Jingyu out the door.
The three of them went to a five-star restaurant. It wasn't that Yang Jingyu was generous, but rather that it was cheap for him, since it was owned by an acquaintance.
You can even buy on credit here, and if you buy on credit long enough, you can get your meal for free.
Of course, this method cannot be used frequently, or you will get beaten up.
Fu Yin glanced at the restaurant and then said, "We don't need to come to a place like this, do we?"
Qin Anning took his arm and gave him a reassuring look, "It's okay, don't worry, he's rich, he just got paid."
Yang Jingyu chimed in, "Yeah, I just got paid. Order whatever you like, it's on me."
He patted his chest and assured me that he had never been so generous before.
Since both of them had said that, what could Fu Yin say? He could only follow them into the private room.
Yang Jingyu flipped through the menu. He hadn't had a big meal in a long time, so he decided to take advantage of this opportunity and order everything he wanted to eat.
Qin Anning asked, "You ordered so much, can you finish it all?"
"Can't I just pack up the leftovers and eat them tomorrow?"
"Alright, you order, you order."
Yang Jingyu ordered a large table of seafood, including abalone and lobster, mostly seafood.
Of course, eating was also the thing he ate the most, so it seems he was really hungry.
After finishing his meal, Yang Jingyu used the excuse of going to the restroom to pay the bill.
He secretly came to settle the bill, of course, so that he could buy on credit. He couldn't buy on credit in front of Fu Yin, otherwise, how embarrassing would that be?
But the cashier seemed to be new and didn't recognize Yang Jingyu. When she heard that he wanted to buy on credit, she looked puzzled.
"Sir, you're asking for credit?" The cashier forced a smile, though she was actually incredibly embarrassed. "Um, do you have a membership?"
"Members?" Yang Jingyu shook his head. "No, call your manager over, I'll talk to him."
"this……"
Before the cashier could say anything more, a man in a suit and tie walked over and asked, "What's wrong?"
The man was around thirty years old, wearing a white suit. He had handsome features and a gentle smile on his face. Perhaps it was his naturally smiling, almond-shaped eyes that gave him a very gentle and approachable demeanor.
Yang Jingyu glanced at the man, his expression brightening with joy, "Brother Bai Lin!"
Bai Lin glanced at him, her smile widening. "So it's Jingyu. You're here for dinner?"
Yang Jingyu scratched his head sheepishly, "Uh, yeah, well, I didn't bring that much money with me, so..."
Bai Lin nodded in understanding, then said to the cashier, "Put his bill on my tab."
Seeing that Yang Jingyu knew his boss, the cashier nodded hurriedly, "Okay, okay."
Having resolved the issue of payment for the meal, the two began chatting casually.
Are you alone?
Yang Jingyu glanced upstairs out of the corner of his eye. "No, no, with two friends. Brother Bai Lin, what brings you to Haishi?"
"I was on a business trip and just stopped by the store. I didn't expect to run into you like this."
"Oh, I see. What a coincidence! It's rare for me to have a meal here. Why didn't you call us before you came?"
Bai Lin smiled faintly, "I was thinking of contacting you after the meeting."
"So how long are you planning to stay?"
"About a week."
As the two were chatting, Qin Anning and Fu Yin came downstairs.
She then saw Bai Lin and Yang Jingyu chatting, which startled her so much that she dragged Fu Yin back.
Fu Yin gave her a strange look. "What's wrong?"
Qin Anning didn't dare to say anything more. She quickly returned to the private room, closed the door, and finally breathed a long sigh of relief.
Then, she forced a smile at Fu Yin and said, "Nothing much. Yang Jingyu was paying the bill, and I was afraid he would ask us to pay."
She looked a little guilty, which naturally did not escape Fu Yin's discerning eye.
Clearly, he wasn't telling the truth. Fu Yin had also noticed the man earlier, but he hadn't said anything.
"All right."
Qin Anning glanced at Fu Yin, feeling somewhat guilty.
She didn't mean to deceive Fu Yin; it's just that Bai Lin doesn't know she's hiding her identity and being with Fu Yin, and she's afraid that she'll be exposed when the two meet.
This restaurant belongs to Bai Lin. If Fu Yin knew that he knew Bai Lin, then he would be exposed.
Therefore, the best way is to avoid meeting.
Fu Yin remained silent.
He wasn't stupid; Qin Anning's lies couldn't fool him. He also had a vague feeling that Qin Anning's identity wasn't as simple as she claimed.
Soon, Yang Jingyu returned.
Oblivious to the atmosphere between the two, he said, "Have you finished eating? Let's go then."
Qin Anning nodded and said to Fu Yin, "Then let's go."
The three of them went downstairs. Qin Anning looked around and, not seeing Bai Lin, finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Just as she was about to leave, someone suddenly called her name.
"Qin Anning".
She turned around and saw a man and a woman coming downstairs. It was none other than her college roommate, Wan Yin.
"I thought I was seeing things, but it really is you."
Wan Yin, arm in arm with the man beside her, walked up to Qin Anning and said, "What a coincidence, we actually met here."
