As night fell, Wan'er finished dinner and, carrying the little prince, walked through the living room, standing in front of the family photo.
Her mother's eyes were still looking at her with loving eyes. For some reason, Wan'er suddenly felt that maybe one day, her mother would come back to her side.
Wan'er sniffed, forcing back the tears that welled up in her eyes.
My uncle is cleaning up the kitchen.
Wan'er went to the bedroom and lay down on the bed. The little prince quietly lay beside her.
Exhaustion washed over her, and as soon as Wan'er closed her eyes, she felt as if another pair of eyes were watching her.
Startled, she opened her eyes abruptly, got up, walked to the bedroom window, pulled back the curtains, and looked up at the starry sky and the dark night sky. However, the view opposite her was empty, as if there was nothing there.
I've lived here for three years without any problems. Maybe I'm being too sensitive. With a sigh, Wan'er relaxed and opened the curtains to let the starlight stream in through the window...
He went back to his bed and went back to sleep.
Just after she fell asleep, an old building appeared faintly in the night sky across the street, about 50 meters from her window, like a mirage...
The old building had a wooden window, unpainted, facing directly into Wan'er's bedroom window. At that moment, a pair of cool eyes could indeed be seen through the wooden window, staring at Wan'er...
The owner of these eyes is Su Mei, who is hidden in the dark attic. Apart from the coldness in her eyes, everything else about Su Mei's body is hidden in the darkness.
Her gaze seemed to reach far into the night sky.
Seeing that Wan'er had fallen asleep, Su Mei withdrew her gaze, reached out and pulled out a black phone emitting light spots from her body, pressed a button with her finger, "Yes, it's me. It seems she was out for most of the day. She's very cunning; the curtains were always drawn at home, so I don't know exactly how long she was gone."
But when she came back, she looked a little tired. Yes, she's asleep now. There's also a message, I don't know if I should tell you, but there's a fool next to her..."
"What? You bitch, you idiot, you only told me this important information now..." A barrage of curses came from the other end of the phone. The angry voice was much louder, almost hurting her eardrums. Su Mei, however, was unmoved. She didn't even move the phone away from her ear. She just stood there stiffly, maintaining the same posture she had when she spoke.
"Knock knock knock!" There was a knock on the door. "Sister!" It was Su Li's voice.
The cursing on the other end of the phone stopped abruptly.
Su Mei hung up the phone expressionlessly, turned around and walked over. "Creak!" She reached out and opened the door, and a damp, musty smell wafted out from the open doorway, instantly irritating Su Mei's nostrils and causing her to frown.
Su Mei seemed completely unconcerned. She simply stepped out of the dark attic, closing the wooden door behind her. Leaning against the door, Su Mei stood on a platform less than a square meter in size, almost face-to-face with Su Li. In the dim light, Su Mei's eyes were terrifyingly cold. "How did you get up here?"
Su Li was taken aback by Su Mei's gaze, but quickly recovered. After spending a few days together, she had begun to get used to her sister's look.
“Your bedroom door was open, so I saw the stairs and came up.” Su Li shrugged, tilting her head to look behind Su Mei, staring at the blackened wooden door. “Sis, how come there’s an attic here?”
"If you don't know, don't ask." Su Mei snorted coldly, turned to the side, and began to check the door frame to see if it was secure.
