Chapter 21 Visiting Aunt

After descending the mountain, we drove out of the valley and followed the mountain road on the right. About five minutes later, we arrived at the entrance of a village. Following a wide road through the fields, the car drove straight to a lawn of more than 100 square meters and slowly came to a stop.

Directly opposite the car was a newly built small villa, with green hills behind it, a lawn in front, and several vegetable plots next to it.

Downstairs in the main room, a petite old woman wearing a floral apron was holding a basin of millet in front of her chest, calling out "Cluck cluck!" while scattering grains of millet to a flock of chickens running towards her.

At that moment, upon hearing the car, the old woman turned to look at the lawn...

"Old woman, look who's here!" Uncle San called out loudly as soon as they got out of the car.

"Auntie," Wan'er said, stepping out from behind her third uncle while holding the kitten, and went to greet the old woman.

"Yes, Wan'er!" After recognizing who it was, Auntie San raised the back of her hand to rub her eyes, then placed her hands on her apron and rubbed them vigorously. She then reached out and pulled Wan'er from the ground to the corridor under the eaves.

"Meow!" The kitten, which had just woken up, meowed.

"What a beautiful blue cat!" Grandma San was captivated by it and exclaimed in amazement, momentarily stunned.

"Are you talking about me? You have good taste." Upon closer inspection, the old woman actually had a kind and gentle face. The kitten twitched its whiskers, shook its somewhat sluggish head, and looked around at its surroundings. It couldn't help but gasp; it was clear that once it left the mountainside, the air here was much fresher.

“His name is Little Prince, and he is indeed very handsome.” Wan’er said, reaching out to gently stroke the kitten’s head, then bending down to place the blue cat on the chair against the door frame. “You can go down now, I’ll talk to my mother-in-law, don’t wander off.”

Yes, Wan'er, I know what you mean. You're reminding me not to get myself dirty, otherwise you won't hug me then. The kitten twitched its whiskers and sat quietly.

“This cat is quite obedient,” Grandma San thought, reaching out to pet the blue cat. But when she looked at her fingers, which were covered in filth, she took a step back and straightened up. “I’ll go make you some tea.”

“Auntie,” Wan’er stepped forward and stuffed two banknotes that she had been clutching in her hand into the pocket of her auntie’s apron. “I came in a hurry, so please go and buy yourself some food. It’s just a small token of my appreciation, please don’t mind.”

"This, this, look at you, you child." Auntie was a little embarrassed and tried to take out the money several times. Wan'er held her hand and shook her head pleadingly, "Keep it, it's just a small token of my appreciation."

"Oh, you," Auntie finally sighed, then turned and walked towards the main room.

"Wan'er, come upstairs with me, your uncle has something to tell you." The third uncle, who was standing not far away, seized the opportunity, pointed to the stairs at the back of the room, and stepped through the doorway first…

Wan'er nodded and followed her uncle into the inner room, then went upstairs with a knock.

Wan'er, why did you leave me here? Why don't you pick me up and take me away? The kitten wanted to follow, but when it looked down and saw that the ground was dirty, it raised its head and let out a sharp "Meow!"

"Cluck cluck cluck!" The chickens on the roof, who were eating with their heads down, were startled by the cat's meow and suddenly fell silent. Even more strangely, their thin legs went weak one after another, and they all lowered their heads and lay on the ground, not daring to move, as if they were collectively worshipping the kitten.
