A beam of faint golden light shot out, and the large rat, weighing at least two pounds, was instantly frozen in a ball of soft golden light...
"Squeak squeak squeak!" Realizing it was in trouble, its shiny, plump body scurried restlessly. It was clear that it had a baby in its big belly; it was a female mouse.
"Please, don't kill my baby, squeak squeak squeak!" All animals are the same; even a hateful mouse knows to protect its own offspring.
“Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you. I just want to show you a photo,” the uncle said, looking at him and making an inaudible sound. He communicated with the mother mouse through his spiritual power, and then reached into his bag and pulled out a photo that had been there all night. “You mice have a wide network of connections. I just want to ask you if you’ve seen this exceptionally beautiful girl recently, a girl who is both ethereal and spiritual…”
Hearing her uncle's words, the mother mouse indeed quieted down considerably, raising her head and squeaking...
"What? You're saying there's someone in the nearby hospital who looks exactly like her?" Uncle was shocked. For the past few days, he had been searching every nook and cranny of the city, but without any news. Today, this "mother rat" actually said she had seen her...
Uncle took the photos and pulled Mercury away.
As soon as the two left, the golden light behind them vanished, and the mother mouse squeaked and disappeared around the corner not far away...
"Uncle, have you found out some information?" Mercury didn't understand the rat's language, so she could only ask her uncle.
“This is a bit strange. I showed Wan’er’s photo to Mouse, and he told me that Wan’er appeared at her workplace,”
"What? How is this possible? Her body is still intact..." Mercury couldn't believe her uncle's words.
“That’s why it’s strange! Now’s the perfect time to go check it out,” Uncle took out his phone from his bag, looked at the time on it, and nodded as he walked. “This time is just right; it should be when she gets off work.”
"Such strange things exist," Mercury quickened her pace, her curiosity piqued.
"Didn't you say you didn't believe me? Why are you suddenly in such a hurry?" Uncle straightened his clothes and looked at Mercury with disdain. Although he was being sarcastic, his actions didn't falter.
In a less crowded place, Mercury didn't need to pretend to be crazy. The two waited for the bus by the roadside and got off at the hospital entrance about five minutes later.
Not wanting to attract attention, the two prepared to enter through the back door. The back door was open, and only a dim yellow light illuminated a dark corridor. They assumed there was no one there.
Just as the two were about to go inside, across the corridor stood a man and a woman, embracing face to face. The woman was wearing high heels and was being held by the waist. At first glance, her figure seemed somewhat familiar. Standing in front of her was a man wearing glasses.
"Uncle, wait a minute." Mercury, with her sharp eyes, lowered her voice and grabbed her uncle who was walking ahead. The two of them moved aside, about ten meters away from the man and woman opposite them.
“Baby,” the man said, holding the woman’s face and kissing her cheek. He smacked his lips in satisfaction. “You taste so good.”
"This man seems familiar. Isn't this Dr. Liu Chang'an?" Mercury thought he looked familiar.
Remembering how she had given Liu Chang'an a broom back then, Mercury quickly covered her mouth, suppressing her laughter.
"Honey, what shall we eat tonight?" It was Liu Chang'an's voice again. Why was the woman still silent?
