The earth-shattering events of the past have vanished without a trace; the surroundings are peaceful, and so is my heart.
The bloodstains faded, leaving only a pool of clear water, reflecting the images of those around...
"It's over." Wan'er sighed softly, nestled beside Mo Tian, her eyes glistening with tears. "Your matter is finally resolved."
"Really? But I can't feel the joy of victory." Hearing Wan'er say this, Mo Tian also sighed.
“It’s all over now, don’t take it to heart. I should go find my mother. But right now, there are only eight words in my mind—the storm has passed, and I will rise again on the vine…” Wan’er was a little tired, and her voice was not loud.
"No matter what, I'll be with you." Mo Tian squeezed Wan'er's hand. "I'm a little curious, did you foresee something because you seemed so confident before?"
"Like you, I didn't know either. I just had a vague feeling that there would be a bloodbath. Since we can't avoid it, we might as well accept it calmly." Wan'er sniffed, straightened up and turned around. Seeing this, Mo Tian reached out and wiped the tears off Wan'er's face. "You and I both know that only by burning our boats can we have a chance to survive."
“Yes, there’s no escaping it. Perhaps everything was already preordained.” Mo Tian’s eyes sharpened, his expression still somber. “But Zhuoyue and Firebird are both heroes of my Spirit City…”
"They know what they are doing, and for them, it's enough that they get what they want."
"Your words are quite insightful..." Mo Tian nodded, opened his arms, and embraced Wan'er.
"Whoosh!" Just then, a black head the size of a broad bean appeared faintly at the bottom of the pit where the water rippled slightly.
As the whooshing sound intensified, "Poof!" the black head exploded, and from its center sprouted a small green seedling.
The seedling swayed gently, and with this swaying, a thin, tiny water plant, carried by the waves, began to grow visibly in all four directions—front, back, left, and right—and soon, a gradually thickening water plant was submerged above the water's surface…
"Whoosh!" The waterweed, like a screw, twisted its body upwards, changing from light blue to dark blue, and continued to grow, becoming thicker and longer. As it stretched upwards, it emitted a faint fragrance, and shimmering light accompanied the fragrance, along with the blue vine, extending towards the horizon...
"What is this?" Wan'er looked up, her eyes sparkling.
"My goodness! It was Lord Zhuoyue's extraordinary feat that dispelled the resentment of all the vengeful spirits and created this once-in-a-millennium Spirit Ladder. So from here, we can return to Spirit City without having to search for other passages. You see, the passages to Spirit City are never fixed in one place; they change location with the passages of time and the magnetic field. For a spirit like me who has been in the human world for so long, even with spiritual power, it would be difficult to find the direction it moves. But now it's all good; we don't need to search anymore."
"Then you should go up quickly," Wan'er pushed Mo Tian away. Although she was reluctant, Wan'er knew that Mo Tian had to return to Tongling City as soon as possible to take charge of the overall situation.
Otherwise, this Spirit City is a gathering place for spirits. Spirits are different from ordinary people. They each have their own abilities and are most easily tempted by the outside world and bewitched by demonic forces, thus causing trouble...
“But,” looking at the winding ladder to heaven in front of them, Mo Tian grabbed Wan’er’s hand, “I want to take you up with me.”
"I still need to go to the Water Palace to find my mother. You go ahead, I'll go and call them here..." Wan'er shook her head.
