Chapter 40 A Nighttime Visit to the Spirit Market

"The spirit market is open." The crocodile muttered to himself, then sat up. His wide eyes narrowed and returned to their previous state.

"Brother, why are you up? It's not even dawn yet." Half-asleep, Lin Fang was startled awake. She rolled over, opened her blurry eyes, reached for the light switch by the bedside, glanced at the back of the man sitting up, and then went back to sleep…

"If you want to go to the spirit market, get up quickly, or you won't be able to get in." Grabbing a piece of clothing from the side, Crocodile lifted his arm, threw the coat behind him, and put it on.

"Spiritual objects?" Upon hearing these two words, Lin Fang immediately opened her eyes, then sat up, reached for her clothes, hurriedly put them on, and quickly moved her feet off the edge of the bed. "You mean the spiritual object market is open at this time?"

"Yes, you can go in 30 minutes after midnight and stay until 2:30 AM, that's the trading time. After that, you only have half an hour to come out. If you want to go, come with me. But I have to warn you, don't wander around. The spirit item market has rules. If you break them," the man suddenly turned around, a cold glint flashing in his slightly closed eyes, "don't blame me for not being able to protect you then."

"Yes, I understand." Feeling the fierceness and terror in his eyes, Lin Fang was stunned. Like a little woman, she lowered her head and repeatedly said yes.

"Let's go then." Crocodile Brother glanced back at Lin Fang, led the way to the door and stopped, then pointed back at Blue Cat and said, "Cover him in the iron cage and lift him up."

"Okay!" Lin Fang agreed, walked to the wall, covered the iron cage with an old cloth lying nearby, then picked up the cage and followed closely behind Crocodile Brother...

The mountain road was somewhat uneven, and the car bumped along the way, still traveling in the suburbs.

"Beep!" About ten minutes later, the car screeched to a halt and pulled over to a patch of open ground by the roadside. There were no streetlights around; it was pitch black.

Using the light from her phone, Lin Fang noticed that although the area was deserted, several Mercedes-Benz and BMW cars were already parked on one side of the open space...

Before me stretched a range of mountains, with no houses in sight.

"Is this the place?" The surrounding air was crisp and desolate. Lin Fang shrugged her shoulders and followed closely behind, her heart pounding.

"It's just ahead." Crocodile Brother didn't turn around, but strode forward along the path in front of him. However, there were mountains ahead, and no path at all!

After walking less than a hundred meters, standing in front of the steep mountain wall, Lin Fang finally saw that there was a faint shape of a door on the rock face in front of her.

Without saying much, Crocodile Brother took a step forward, picked up a small stone from the ground, and knocked it three times on the stone wall in front of him, making a buzzing sound.

Sure enough, just as Crocodile Brother threw down the stone, a loud "boom!" was heard, and the stone door moved to the side, quickly revealing a rectangular opening.

Two tall men, dressed in white and with white headscarves, stood on either side of the cave entrance. Both men had dark complexions, thick lips, and long arms and legs, and were clearly African.

"I'll take someone in." Crocodile Bro reached into his breast pocket and pulled out a silver card with a crocodile logo, handing it to the African man on his right...

"Hmm, the code hasn't changed," the African man said, glancing at Lin Fang. He then gave the silver card and a small flashlight to Crocodile Brother.
