Two meters away, in the mirror, countless images flickered in all directions. Wan'er saw her disheveled hair, the wounds on her limbs, her tattered clothes, and the bloodstains on her body.
Is this me? Yes! It's a miracle I'm still alive! Though my appearance is disheveled, Wan'er's spirit remains; her eyes are still clear and bright...
"Dad, Mom! Where are you? Were you the ones who called me just now?" Although she was a little tired, her previous stiffness was gone. As Wan'er turned around and looked around, she shouted in a hoarse voice, "Mo Tian, where are you? Didn't you come in with me?"
"Ma ma ma..." No one answered, only a series of echoing sounds.
There seemed to be no exit around. Wan'er was completely enveloped in the pure, icy embrace. The temperature was just right, the extreme cold and the icy stinging sensation from before were gone, but she couldn't sense the presence of anyone else...
That's right! This place is no ordinary place; without spiritual power, it's naturally impossible to sense anything.
With this in mind, Wan'er closed her eyes, focused her mind, and began to sit cross-legged in meditation.
A moment later, a faint red light, carrying a hint of warmth, emerged from between the eyebrows and shone directly into a mirror opposite...
"Crackling!" The red light converged, and cracks appeared on the mirror surface that was hit. Countless cracks extended, and then with a loud "boom," ice shards shattered and fell to the ground like fireworks...
Wan'er opened her eyes and immediately saw a large patch of crimson flames appear behind the ice crystals.
"Whoosh!" A wave of intense heat rushed towards her, and crimson flames burned fiercely, illuminating Wan'er's body.
"Puff puff!" There seemed to be movement inside the fireworks. Wan'er's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly got up from the ground and walked towards the opened breach...
"My child, Wan'er!" This time she heard it clearly; her mother's voice came from within the flames.
Taking long strides, Wan'er approached, and sure enough, a graceful figure appeared in the flames. "Mom, is that you? It's me, Wan'er!"
"Go back! Don't come any closer," the voice said urgently, yet with a hint of joy. "We're already so glad you came to see us. Listen to me, leave this place!"
"Mom, it really is you! Do you know how much your daughter has wanted to see you?" All the grievances she had held back for so many years poured out, and Wan'er's nose tingled as tears streamed down her face. "Now that I have gone through so much trouble to get here, I must save you."
"Silly child, your responsibility doesn't lie here. Go and rescue the aquatic creatures. Your mother can't go back." The mother's voice was hoarse, choked with sobs.
"Mom, don't lie to me! I know how to get you out." Wan'er shook her head repeatedly and stepped inside. "As long as I enter this sea of fire, with my flesh and blood, I can melt the intense flames and save you, Mother..."
"No! Child, this is an excruciating pain, and..." Her mother's voice was still ringing in her ears, but Wan'er couldn't wait any longer and stepped into the sea of fire...
"Mom, your daughter is here!"
"Sizzle sizzle!" Her clothes were instantly engulfed in flames, the flames stretching out their tongues, greedily licking at Wan'er's skin. The pain of being burned instantly filled every one of Wan'er's senses.
Mo Tian, I'm sorry! Wan'er is going to let you down...
In a blur, red scales appeared on Wan'er's body, and her giant red tail swayed in the burning flames. She spun around frantically, and gradually, her consciousness began to fade.
In a daze, Wan'er saw a blue cat.
"Meow!" The blue cat came running towards him...
