"Spiritual energy! There's so much spiritual energy here!" This was a wonderful surprise. After taking a few deep breaths, Wan'er felt much more energetic. Her thin body no longer seemed so cold, and even the light in her eyes began to shine through, allowing her to see into the dark cave.
On both sides of the cave were dark green stone walls, covered with damp moss and water droplets that occasionally dripped down with a "drip!"
The ground was completely black, a mixture of mud and stones, indistinguishable from each other. Wan'er tiptoed forward cautiously...
"Splash!" There seemed to be the sound of flowing water ahead. Looking up, a small stream could be faintly seen emerging from the cave ten meters away.
Wan'er was immediately excited; it turned out that everything was true.
"Stop!" But before she could take a few steps, a child's voice suddenly rang out in front of her—no, it was a group of children of varying heights.
Several pairs of small eyes gleamed faintly in the cave.
There are six children! The oldest is eight or nine years old, and the youngest is just learning to walk, about one or two years old.
They didn't seem to be afraid of the cold; each of them wore a white vest, had a small braid sticking up on their heads, and had chubby, white faces that were very cute.
High up in the mountains, in a bottomless black hole, there are actually children! It seems that these children are either abandoned or not ordinary people.
"Hello, children," Wan'er said, feeling a pang of pity for the children's natural cuteness. She bent down and greeted them warmly.
However, the children didn't seem to respect her. They all stepped forward, each stretching out their arms to block Wan'er's path.
"Who are you? How did you get in?" The one in the lead was an eight or nine-year-old child. He straightened his little face and looked at Wan'er with a bit of surprise.
"Who I am is not important. I just walked in. Is there anything wrong with that?" Wan'er didn't understand what he meant. She straightened up, spread her hands, and asked the child in return.
"What? You said you walked in?" Hearing this, the five or six-year-old child on the left looked flustered, turned around and walked to the nine-year-old child in the middle, clasped his hands together and muttered a few words. The child nodded, then shook his head. Then he turned around and said a few words to the six-year-old child. The six-year-old child turned around and ran straight into the cave...
“Don’t lie to us,” the older child stepped forward, raised his head, and looked her up and down with his bright black eyes. “This is a deserted mountain, a deserted area, high in the clouds. Ordinary people can’t come up here, and without Grandpa’s special permission, you wouldn’t be able to see the cave entrance…”
“But I’m standing right here, aren’t I?” Wan’er shook her head with a wry smile, then breathed a sigh of relief, as if she suddenly understood something. “So there’s a grandfather in this cave. Alright, take me to see your grandfather. No wonder you’re all so plump and fair-skinned…”
"Brother, did she see through us?" The younger children nearby suddenly panicked and hid behind the older children.
"So you're a bad person too! You came for us!" The older child glared coldly at Wan'er, then held out his hand to block the other children, shouting, "Go find Grandpa! I'll shield you!"
"Big brother, such a pretty sister, she can't be a bad person, can she?" The one or two-year-old child could actually speak in complete sentences. He looked at Wan'er, grinning foolishly, and even ran up to her, crawling out from under his brother's arm and walking towards Wan'er...
