Chapter 453 The Great Baboon's Evil Ambition

The paths among the stalactites are crisscrossed, but the vibrant scene of the past is gone.

A cold wind blew through the air from time to time, and the air was dark. In the dim light, one could faintly smell Mo Tian's scent.

The surroundings were quiet, with only a faint light, appearing from nowhere, illuminating the path covered with overlapping rocks.

"Let's go!" Wan'er hurried along, following the baboon's "thump-thump!" footsteps. She knew that if she didn't possess spiritual power and be light on her feet, she would not be able to hide her voice in this quiet environment and would be discovered soon.

The giant baboon, however, never turned around.

"As the saying goes, ninjas are the best. I, the great baboon, am wise beyond my years. Now that you are all dead, I, a mere pawn, can say that I will soon rule the world. Everything here will belong to me. There were countless jewels hidden beneath this spirit palace, but I hid them long ago. You bunch of stupid pigs, you never even discovered them! Hahaha!" The great baboon, who had been leading the way, was carried away with pride, waving his long arms and laughing wildly as he walked. His laughter echoed through the cave, sending chills down one's spine.

Avoiding the path taken by the giant baboon, Wan'er moved forward, passing over a rock and moving quickly...

"I understand now. This spiritual item market is where the Dragon Palace is located. A calamity has destroyed a once beautiful Dragon Palace into this state..." Wan'er sighed, her heart aching. She took a deep breath, turned to look at the Ginseng King, tears streaming down her face. "It's all my fault."

"Spirit Lord, don't be sad, it's just a calamity, look!" Just then, the King of Ginseng pointed ahead. Not far ahead, about 50 meters away, a large black net was hanging at the entrance of a stone cave, blocking the way. Upon closer inspection, a small figure was hanging in the net, emitting a blue light...

"Yes, Mo Tian!" Seeing that familiar figure and smelling that familiar scent, Wan'er trembled, and a sob escaped her lips. At the same time, she was about to step forward...

"Don't go any closer!" Ginseng King grabbed her arm. "Look what's in front of it!"

Beneath the large net was a circular black hole, from which emerged a large black snake, hissing and flicking its tongue.

This black snake is strange; other snakes have red tongues, but this black snake's tongue is black.

"Black Tongue Snake!" In an instant, the memory of the firebird flashed into Wan'er's mind. This snake was no ordinary creature; it specialized in feeding on spiritual objects!

"Hahaha, you really do have some knowledge," a figure suddenly emerged from behind a boulder next to the black net; it was a giant baboon.

He was burly and broad-shouldered, with exceptionally long arms, and a wide mouth that appeared when he smiled…

"What? Are you looking at me because I look a bit human?" The guy reached up and wiped his face, and surprisingly, the hair on his face had thinned out.

"Like a human? Humph!" Wan'er sneered. "With your black heart and long limbs, do you even deserve to be associated with humans? You're a monster!"

"Hmph! You're so stubborn, aren't you? I, the Great King, won't get angry. Back then, I lurked here for thousands of years, eating scraps and even the excrement of various animals, all for today. With the right time and place, I solemnly declare today that I am not a baboon, I am the Spirit Lord of this Water Palace."

"Pah! It's just a cleaning fish that cleans the aquatic palace. You're overthinking it."

"I've made so many contributions to the Water Palace, yet who has ever respected me..."

"Does that give you the right to cause trouble for the Water Palace?" Wan'er shook her head, looking disdainful.
