Chapter 57 Liu Chang'an was terrified

You scoundrel! You actually tried to force me! The little prince spread his paw pads, revealing his claws once more...

"Ah!" Liu Chang'an cried out in surprise before he even got close. He released Wan'er's hand and took several steps back in fright. "Thump!" His right knee bent and hit the coffee table, almost causing him to fall backward.

Luckily, he braced himself against the edge of the coffee table, causing Liu Chang'an's body to tilt, and his glasses fell onto the coffee table with a "thud!"

He raised his left hand, and several red welts quickly appeared above his raised wrist.

As if he had seen a ghost, Liu Chang'an stared wide-eyed at Wan'er, his trembling hand frantically picking up his glasses from the coffee table and putting them back on his nose...

Dr. Liu stepped back to the opposite side of the coffee table, nervously looking around.

Okay! I'll test you again. Can you really not see me?

The kitten grinned, letting out a cold laugh characteristic of civets.

"Meow!" He suddenly raised his head and let out a sharp cry.

"What's that sound?" Sure enough, upon hearing the sound, Liu Chang'an was at a loss. He looked at Wan'er again. She was still sitting there, seemingly unchanged, but the sound was coming from her.

It was clearly a meow, but there was no cat.

Hearing the Little Prince's meow, Wan'er was startled. Oh no! This had completely captured his attention. Little Prince, you're so naughty! Wan'er rolled her eyes, secretly reaching out to press the Little Prince's head...

The little prince tossed his head, shook off Wan'er's hand, and jumped without a care, landing on the coffee table opposite.

"Wan'er, did you hear that? There's a cat meowing. Do you have a cat? Where is it?" The little prince was baring his teeth and claws at Liu Chang'an, who seemed completely oblivious. Upon noticing the little prince's presence, he frantically looked around, even bending down and carefully reaching out to push the coffee table, trying to find a cat, but ultimately to his great disappointment.

"No, I don't have a cat," Wan'er gasped, but deliberately spread her hands and shook her head to deny it.

"Then what else could it be but a cat, the meow I just heard, and the scratches on my arm?" His eyes, which were not large to begin with, widened, his throat was dry, and he swallowed hard, taking a step back.

"Dr. Liu, are you alright?" She secretly chuckled as she saw the wound on his arm, but outwardly could only express concern.

"This is too bizarre! What, what was that just now..." Unable to answer Wan'er and receiving no response, Liu Chang'an's astonished expression was quite comical. He tried to reach out to pull Wan'er, but just as his hand reached out, "Meow!" He heard another sharp meow from ahead.

Just thinking about what happened just now because of...

"There's a ghost! Wan'er, come out with me quickly!" With his last line of defense collapsing, Liu Chang'an withdrew his hand and retreated to the door. He reached out to pull the door several times, but because of his trembling, he couldn't open it for a moment.

"How could there be ghosts? You're a doctor, and doctors don't believe in ghosts. Could you be hallucinating?" Wan'er shook her head, calmly walked over, opened the living room door for Liu Chang'an, and then turned back to the coffee table.

"Meow!" came another meow.

"Listen, it's a cat meowing!" Liu Chang'an leaned against the doorframe, pointing at the coffee table, trying to elicit a response from Wan'er. "What cat meowing? I didn't hear anything, humph!" Wan'er snorted coldly, plopped back down on the sofa, and looked up at Liu Chang'an's frightened expression. Wan'er felt a sense of satisfaction, suddenly finding the whole thing quite amusing.
