Chapter 131 Can I sleep here?

In Lu Yibei's room, there was a pegboard on one wall.

After dividing it in half, one half was made into a small bookshelf to hold books that I would read at a certain time.

Because there is a study on the third floor, this bookshelf is really small, with only three shelves.

At most, you could probably fit a dozen or twenty books inside.

The other half is often used by Lu Yibei to post memos and notifications such as "Buying groceries today" or "Going to XX to do XX".

Besides the sticky notes, there were also some photos tucked inside.

The photos alone take up most of this half of the space.

Some were taken with an instant camera, while others were taken with a digital camera and then printed out using a convenient pocket printer.

However, there are three large, formal photos.

These are graduation photos from elementary school, middle school, and high school...

Ji Qingqian was first attracted by the Polaroid photos. Although the Polaroid photos with their warm tones were not as clear as those from a digital camera, they had a unique feel to them.

The first thing she saw was a photo of Lu Yibei and Zhou Zhou.

Not many, just one.

Caught in the middle.

The two were high school classmates and were wearing the same high school uniform.

They both flashed peace signs at the camera, their smiles quite bright.

Zhou Zhou in the photo looked much younger than when Ji Qingqian first met her.

High school girls rarely wear makeup. Their round faces, without any makeup, have a natural cuteness, and their smiling eyes are like crescent moons.

They look adorable, with an innocent and naive air that easily evokes a protective instinct in people.

This was completely different from Ji Qingqian's impression of Zhou Zhou.

Ji Qingqian was somewhat taken aback.

When did she become like that?

She glanced at Lu Yibei, who stood stiffly beside her. In the photo, Lu Yibei looked much younger, probably because of school rules, and his hair was neatly cut.

The boy's hair was now somewhat messy, natural, and gave him a slightly lazy look.

Ji Qingqian commented: "He looks weathered."

"…yes."

Lu Yibei sighed, then subtly tried to remove the photograph.

Ji Qingqian didn't say anything more, but just stared at him calmly.

Lu Yibei sighed again and explained to her:

"It wasn't intentional."

"I know."

"I just forgot."

Lu Yibei had indeed forgotten; he hadn't considered things at all... He should have had his grandmother pack up before coming back.

Ji Qing pursed her lips, put her hands behind her back, and looked up at the boy in front of her. Her calm eyes revealed some emotion.

"…Feel sorry."

Lu Yibei felt guilty; she shouldn't have seen the photo... no, she shouldn't have seen it here.

“Abei, you are usually very thoughtful,” Ji Qingqian said.

"Yes," Lu Yibei replied sincerely.

“But you forgot this time, and I think this is quite serious. Generally speaking, you shouldn’t forget,” Ji Qingqian said.

“…Yes.” Lu Yibei said, forcing himself to speak.

But he simply forgot that this is an indisputable fact.

"I'll get a good scolding..." Lu Yibei thought to himself.

But Ji Qingqian's eyes curved slightly.

His female warrior's expressions were not very rich to begin with, and even this slight curve made her look particularly excited.

"Do you know what this means?" Ji Qingqian asked.

"...Please advise?"

"It means I'm a good girlfriend, making my boyfriend forget everything from the past."

Ji Qingqian smiled calmly: "You were happy when you were with me, weren't you?"

These past few days, Abei has talked to her a lot about Chaocheng, the town, and his family, but he just hadn't thought of this one thing.

Ji Qingqian immediately understood that at this moment, Abei was only focused on introducing her to the place where he grew up and had not considered anything else.

"Mm." Lu Yibei nodded.

"That's great," Ji Qingqian said.

“…Yes, that’s great,” Lu Yibei said.

However, Ji Qingqian's tone was stating facts, while his tone was more like a sigh... he was glad that he had escaped unscathed, or rather, he was glad that he had met such a good girl, and that he hadn't missed her... no, it should be said that she had worked hard to make sure he hadn't missed her.

Ji Qingqian sensed the emotion in his tone and glanced sideways:

"You're sweating, aren't you?"

“…Indeed, I need to change my clothes.” Lu Yibei breathed a sigh of relief.

He was just considering whether kneeling like a tiger landing on its knees could increase the sincerity of his apology.

"Do you need to change your pants?" Ji Qingqian asked.

"No need!"

Ji Qingqian spread her hands towards Lu Yibei:

"But you have to give me the photos, or I'll get really angry."

Lu Yibei handed it over, and Ji Qingqian casually stuffed it into her pocket, coldly saying:

"I'll find some evil magic to cast a spell on her another day..."

Her words were cold, but Lu Yibei knew she would never do such a thing.

The heroine Qingqian has always been upright and honorable in her travels. She never stooped to using any underhanded tactics when things were going badly, let alone now that she has turned the tables on the world.

The photos clipped to the perforated board didn't only include Zhou Zhou as a girl.

Or rather, there is only one photo of Zhou Zhou, but another girl appears far more frequently than her.

It's Xia Li.

Or it could be a solo photo where she makes a funny face at the camera, creating a meme-worthy expression.

Or group photos, some with Lu Yibei, and some with peers she didn't know.

There's also a photo of her leaping to shoot, the basketball frozen in mid-air.

“Back then, I had just gotten that Polaroid camera, and Xia Tudou took it around taking pictures everywhere, wasting a whole box of photographic paper,” Lu Yibei said.
