After having my temperature checked, I registered to see a doctor.
Jiangda University Hospital emphasizes one specialty, offering both basic and advanced departments.
Ji Qingqian opened her mouth wide in surprise. After observing her, the doctor made a simple conclusion:
"You have a sore throat, let's get a blood test first."
Then Lu Yibei took Ji Qingqian to pay the money, and then took the form to the blood test window.
There's no one here at this time, so there's no need to wait.
"Are you afraid of pain?" Lu Yibei asked.
Ji Qingqian hooked her hand around her boyfriend's and said softly:
"If being afraid of pain makes you seem cute, then I can be afraid."
After she finished speaking, a smile returned to her slightly tired eyes.
It turns out that the good people of Northeast China are not afraid of blood tests.
The female warrior was not only unafraid of pain, she didn't even flinch.
Afterwards, she used cotton to stop the bleeding and sat with Lu Yibei on a public bench outside to wait.
Although the female warrior could occasionally show a mischievous side, she did seem much less energetic than usual.
When she leaned on Lu Yibei's shoulder, she didn't want to move at all.
The blood test results are said to take half an hour to come out.
But after about ten minutes, Lu Yibei took the barcode and scanned it on the machine.
Sure enough, with a sizzle, the form was printed out.
Lu Yibei glanced at the report, but couldn't understand some of the indicators, which were either too high or too low. So he took Ji Qingqian to the general practice clinic.
The doctor glanced at the report and immediately drew a conclusion:
"Upper respiratory infection caused by catching a cold... As the weather gets colder, remember to keep warm."
The doctor looked towards the patient, who was staring at the ceiling, seemingly more concerned about the structure of the central air conditioning system than her illness.
So the doctor spoke to the patient's family...
Oh, not a patient's family member.
They're both students; this guy must be the girl's boyfriend.
But they seem quite reliable and mature, giving the impression that they could already become "family members".
"For a common infection, taking some fever reducers will suffice. But this student's temperature is a bit too high."
The doctor said to Lu Yibei.
Lu Yibei listened very carefully. He sensed from the doctor's words that "this is not an ordinary cold, and we must take strong measures."
Sure enough, the doctor made a couple of moves on the computer:
"Let's give her an IV drip. We'll prescribe a one-day supply first. Come back for a check-up tomorrow. If the fever doesn't go down, we'll have to continue. We'll also prescribe some anti-inflammatory and fever-reducing medication... Just follow the instructions on the package and have her take it."
"OK."
Lu Yibei nodded repeatedly.
The two then moved on to another location, paid for their medication, and went to the infusion room.
The pain of getting an IV drip is almost the same as that of getting a blood test.
Lady Ji still didn't take it seriously at all.
After the nurse finished inserting the needle, Lu Yibei held up the three bags of water and led Ji Qingqian to the infusion area to sit down.
The infusion area was almost empty.
The few who were there were also drowsy and lethargic.
They didn't look very well.
That makes sense, though; someone in good spirits wouldn't need to come to a place like this.
"I'll go get you some hot water."
Lu Yibei had just settled Ji Qingqian down when he stood up again.
"good."
Ji Qingqian nodded, appearing unexpectedly obedient.
Lu Yibei brought over two glasses of water, placed one aside, blew on the other glass several times, and then handed it to the girl.
"Be careful when you drink, it's hot."
"Um."
Ji Qingqian added that the water was indeed a bit hot, so she simply held the disposable cup in her hands.
Her face was hidden under the mask, but you could still tell she was smiling from her crescent-shaped eyes:
"So busy, Ah Bei."
Lu Yibei was taken aback.
Ji Qingqian then said:
"I've only ever been to the hospital with my parents. Ah Bei, you're the first person besides them to accompany me to the hospital..."
Lu Yibei chuckled silently.
Even though the experience of "the first time" is quite appealing, the experience of "accompanying someone to the hospital for the first time" is really not very lucky.
He was about to say that it would be best if they never came again, when he heard his girlfriend softly say again:
"I've heard people say that going on a trip together or going through an illness together is the best way to expose a person's flaws."
"…Um?"
"But you didn't expose me at all, you took good care of me, just like family."
As Ji Qingqian spoke, she looked up at the dripping water above.
Lu Yibei was slightly lost in thought.
The term "family" was such a high compliment that he was momentarily at a loss for words.
Ji Qingqian rested her head lightly on the boy's shoulder:
"It doesn't feel as bad as before."
Lu Yibei also looked up at the medicine being administered into the girl's hand through the plastic tube:
"Did the fever reducer work?"
The girl pursed her lips slightly beneath her mask and hummed a few words:
Who knows~~~
A while later.
The girl took her phone out of her jacket pocket but handed it to Lu Yibei.
"Keep an eye on the news for me... don't let Jiaojiao and the others worry too much."
"good."
"...I'm a little sleepy, I want to take a nap."
"Okay, sure."
"Abei, just tell me anything... I feel safer when I hear your voice."
As she spoke, Ji Qingqian gently closed her eyes, and a soft yawn could be heard from under her mask.
"Do you remember the book 'Fireworks' that we read yesterday?" Lu Yibei asked.
