Chapter 52 I'll Eat the Table

"Laobei, you're back?"

In room 404, Fatty Hao hurriedly looked up and then quickly stared at his phone screen.

"Here you are," Lu Yibei nodded.

"Fuck your mother's mother's mother—" Liu Jie cursed loudly, head bowed.

His and Hao Zhangwen's journey in PUBG was quite unsuccessful.

Lu Yibei glanced at it twice and asked:

"Where are the bamboo shoots?"

Just as he asked the question, Zhao Xun came in from the balcony.

"Laobei, you're back," he said, then glanced back at the drizzling rain outside the balcony: "This rain is fucking heavy..."

"What's wrong?"

Lu Yibei smiled: "Are you worried... that a rainstorm will trap me there...?"

Before Lu Yibei could even get emotional, Zhao Xun shattered his illusions.

"Get lost, I never thought you'd be back today." He said, "I tried so hard to make teru teru bozu (a type of Japanese doll), but the heavens still took pity on those military training guys and sent down this heavy rain! Damn it, we weren't so lucky during our military training last year."

Lu Yibei: "...Your cold expression hurts me. The September rain is just like your heartlessness~ Oh oh oh~~"

Lu Yibei's adapted version of the classic song "June Rain" has barely been sung two lines.

Then I heard Liu Jie slam his phone onto the table:

"Grass!"

"What's wrong?" Zhao Xun asked. "Did Chen Dan find a boyfriend?"

He knew Liu Jie was playing games, of course, but he couldn't resist teasing him.

Liu Jie: "Get lost!"

Lu Yibei: "I guess it's like a fully equipped vehicle with a level 2 armor, level 3 helmet, and four-wheeled vehicle, but it gets torn to pieces by a 6x scope. That would be a joke."

Judging from Liu Jie's frustrated look, Lu Yibei's words must have come true.

“How can you blame me?” Liu Jie said.

"That weird fat guy?" Lu Yibei laughed.

"It's not my fault."

Fatty Hao said, "But this time it can't be blamed on Brother Jie. We played in a squad of four, and one of our teammates was a genius. He skipped ten rounds, lost nine, fired eight shots, missed seven, and acted like a nobody without any morals. Only three of the four players in the squad contributed any effort; they were just slackers."

Zhao Xun looked at Hao Zhangwen in surprise and couldn't help but exclaim, "How neat it is!"

Even after quitting the game, Liu Jie was still not satisfied. Seeing Hao Zhangwen still on the PUBG screen, he said:

"Fatty, give me a little push and click the report button."

"Brother Jie, I told you your mental fortitude is lacking," Zhao Sun criticized seriously.

“Exactly,” Lu Yibei chimed in from the side.

"I got screwed over a few times, it's just a game!" Zhao Xun said.

“It’s just a game,” Lu Yibei replied.

"You've been hanging out with Lao Bei for so long, how come you're still so easily swayed?" Zhao Xun said.

"That's right..."

Lu Yibei shut up. He thought for a moment, then slammed his knee into Zhao Xun's shapely buttocks: "Fuck you! You can teach Brother Jie a lesson, but don't drag me into it!"

Liu Jie tossed his phone aside, intending to calm himself down, and asked:

"Laobei, where did you go to play?"

"I went to have dinner with someone," Lu Yibei said.

Liu Jie wasn't surprised: "The basketball team? Or someone else?"

He has always been well-liked by his family in the north of the prison. Although he is not a member of the basketball team, he has a good relationship with the team captain.

The incident that ended his relationship with Zhou Zhou was triggered by him hanging out with the basketball team captain and a few others at a karaoke bar.

“The others,” Lu Yibei said.

"Male or female?" Hao Zhangwen asked casually.

It's easy to guess that he's male.

It wasn't because Lu Yibei was unpopular with women; it was simply because of Zhou Zhou that he had isolated all the girls his age.

"A woman," Lu Yibei answered truthfully.

Liu Jie was taken aback, then asked, "Brother Pear? You didn't come to the welcome dinner, she's been talking about it ever since."

"no."

"Hmm? Who's that? Have you met any new girls lately?"

Liu Jie asked with great interest, "Does this mean I'm going to have a daughter-in-law?"

“Ji Qingqian,” Lu Yibei said.

Liu Jie said listlessly, "You're at it again, and you're panting now, aren't you?"

Previously, Lu Yibei concealed his relationship with the female knight Qingqian, and Liu Jie kept urging him to ask Ji Qingqian for her WeChat so they could connect, develop their relationship, and advance the story.

But when Lu Yibei admitted that he and Ji Qingqian did have some history, Liu Jie changed his attitude to "I don't believe you for a second."

"Lao Bei, I admit you're somewhat attractive, but Ji Qingqian is a school beauty who competes with Sister Lezi on the same stage, and her personality is much colder than Sister Lezi's. You've only known each other for a short time, and you're already asking her out to dinner?" Liu Jie scoffed, "Don't use such an outrageous method to tease me, okay?"

Lu Yibei pondered, "Hmm...why not?"

Liu Jie sneered.

"Heh, if you really do have dinner with Junior Sister Ji today, then I'll—"

He looked around and pointed to the table in front of him: "Just eat this thing!"

well.

Lu Yibei sighed inwardly, realizing that such an honest and trustworthy young man like himself was being questioned in this way.

He said, "You have really good teeth, and they're quite nice too."

Lu Yibei didn't intend to explain anything further to Liu Jie.

There's a saying... Yes, let it fly for a while, let the bullets fly a little longer.

It will blind you sooner or later.

"I'm going to take a shower," Lu Yibei said.

Hao Zhangwen suddenly noticed Lu Yibei's right wrist, and then looked at his hair.

"Bamboo shoots".

He asked softly the only person in the dorm who wore a braid, "Is Lao Bei's hair not enough to tie up?"

"Ah." Zhao Xun nodded.
