Only on the two days of returning to school can boys openly enter the girls' dormitory under the pretext of helping others.
The dormitory supervisor was already in place, sitting on her special dragon chair, munching on sunflower seeds while glancing at the college students entering the room.
The aunt's eyes lit up immediately when she saw Ji Qingqian.
It's not just boys who like to look at pretty girls; even kind old ladies find beautiful girls attractive, especially someone like Ji Qingqian, who only wore light makeup and was refreshingly beautiful.
Putting everything else aside, in just this one morning, she saw many freshmen who were heavily made up and looked like something out of a movie.
But this little girl was different; she was clean and tidy.
Students can certainly wear makeup, but it's not really appropriate for them to wear overly bright colors.
The young man who helped her carry her luggage was also tall and handsome; the two of them looked quite well-matched standing together.
The aunt greeted her:
"New here?"
Ji Qingqian was talking to Lu Yibei when someone called her. She quickly turned around, seemingly startled by the aunt's sudden conversation. She lowered her head and said, "Um, um..."
Which floor?
"Third floor."
"It's perfect. The first floor is noisy, the second floor is noisy, and the fourth and fifth floors are too high. The third floor is just right," said the dormitory supervisor.
Ji Qingqian wasn't very good at dealing with strangers, so she looked to Lu Yibei for help.
Lu Yibei chimed in, "Auntie, are you also taking the postgraduate entrance exam?"
The dormitory supervisor didn't understand: "What do you mean by postgraduate entrance exam?"
"You're so eloquent and cultured, Auntie. It's a shame you're not pursuing a master's degree," Lu Yibei said.
The dormitory supervisor was delighted:
"Hurry up and go upstairs, grab a good bed in advance! Auntie's a friendly reminder, don't grab one near the door!"
"Thank you, Auntie."
Lu Yibei carried two suitcases and stepped up the stairs.
The dormitory supervisor couldn't help but exclaim, "This young man is incredibly strong!"
Ji Qingqian bowed her head to the aunt to say goodbye, then caught up with Lu Yibei.
"Did you live in the dorms during high school?" Lu Yibei asked.
Ji Qingqian countered, "What do you think?"
"Given our years of camaraderie, we shouldn't have to stay here," Lu Yibei said.
After all, their camaraderie was built through gaming; both of them could log on at night. In high school, computers weren't allowed in the dorms.
Ji Qingqian: "It's good that you understand."
"As your senior, let me give you some advice: in our university dorms, beds are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. If your bed is near the door, you'll probably have to shoulder the responsibility of turning the lights on and off in the dead of winter," Lu Yibei said.
"Thank you so much for your guidance, senior."
As Ji Qingqian and Lu Yibei were talking, the two pushed open the dormitory door and took a look.
Not bad, we were the first ones to arrive.
Four beds are available for you to choose from.
Following Lu Yibei's suggestion, Ji Qingqian chose the one furthest from the door.
She threw her schoolbag onto the bed and was then led by Lu Yibei to collect freshman supplies.
It was hot, and after walking such a distance back and forth, the two of them were flushed with heat when they returned to the dormitory.
Lu Yibei casually pulled up a chair and sat down.
Ji Qingqian pulled out a half-finished bottle of Baishui Mountain from her schoolbag and also took out an unopened bottle, tossing it to Lu Yibei—in this weather, all the Yibao milk Xia Li gave her had evaporated as sweat.
Lu Yibei turned on the switch, and Ji Qingqian sat on the edge of the upper bunk, looking down at him.
The two of them remained silent, which was unusual for them.
Lu Yibei took a sip before speaking again:
"You've come all the way from Northeast China to Hangzhou to study at university, that's quite a distance, and all by yourself. Are your family members really comfortable with you?"
Ji Qingqian raised her snow-white chin: "My family adopts a free-range approach."
"No wonder he could stay up all night playing games in high school..."
Lu Yibei said admiringly, "You still managed to get into Jiangda University. Our school's admission scores aren't low. You're really something."
Ji Qingqian snorted lightly: "Likewise, some people not only have time to play games, but also have time to chase after goddesses."
Lu Yibei's smile froze: "Heroine, can we really bring up something we don't want to talk about?"
"What are you talking about? Let me bring it up."
"Don't bring that up, it's a sensitive topic."
Lu Yibei's frustrated look made Ji Qingqian smile slightly.
"Why did you choose to apply to Jiangnan University?" Lu Yibei asked.
"It's as if I can't report it," Ji Qingqian said, somewhat dissatisfied.
Jiangnan University is indeed one of the top universities in the Jiangnan region, but there are also better or similar universities in the Northeast. If Lu Yibei were from the Northeast, he would never have come all the way here to study.
"Could it be that I've been bragging about how awesome our school is all the time, and that's made you interested? Wouldn't the admissions office be giving me some money?" Lu Yibei said.
Ji Qingqian: "Heh, I felt tricked as soon as I arrived."
"how?"
"hot."
Upon hearing this, Lu Yibei stood up, skillfully rummaged through the various drawers and cabinets, then found a remote control and tapped it on the air conditioner: "Luckily, it's powered on."
Ji Qingqian was sitting high up, and the bed was right next to the air conditioner vent, so she immediately stuck her head out to cool off.
The cold wind blew through her hair, which clung to her face, and finally cooled her down a bit.
"Don't be fooled by the hot summers in Jiangnan; the winters are cold too."
Lu Yibei said smugly, "I'll let you experience what magic attacks are like then, and see if your race, which relies on physical resistance, can withstand it."
Ji Qingqian said calmly, "I'm not afraid of the cold. I have an excellent buff to deal with cold air."
"Huh? What?"
Ji Qingqian turned her eyes and raised an eyebrow at Lu Yibei:
"Upright and righteous."
Lu Yibei noticed that the elegant female warrior's eyelashes were long and thick, like two small brushes...
