After Ji Qingqian pinned the old post to the top of her WeChat Moments, she quickly posted the new one.
Lu Yibei gave her a thumbs up with lightning speed, and then the bell rang to signal the end of get out of class.
He stuffed the textbook back into Fatty Hao's bag, and then sent a message to Heroine Qingqian as he left the classroom.
[Abei: Number One]
[Abei: I snagged the first comment!]
[Qingqian: You're third]
[Qingqian: Forget about sofas, there aren't even benches left. You'll have to sleep on the floor.]
[Abei: What?!]
[Abei: Who's first and second? I'll wipe them out!]
[Qingqian: First is Chu Chu]
[Qingqian: The episode that really boosted iPhone signal strength, featuring her using an Apple phone]
[Abei: Let's spare her life for the sake of this chivalrous woman.]
[Abei: Who took my second place?]
[Qingqian: My Father]
Lu Yibei looked at the two short yet heavy words and gazed at the western sky.
The weather wasn't actually that great today.
After several rain showers a few days ago, the temperature in Jiangnan has dropped somewhat.
But there was no refreshing feeling of crisp autumn air; the air was humid and sticky.
[Abei: Hey, lady, did you bring an umbrella?]
[Qingqian: Your topic shifting was so sloppy.]
[Abei: There was no change of topic]
[Abei: I just think third place isn't bad either]
[Abei: Gao Di is a third-place finisher]
[Qingqian: Abei's Search for Flowers]
[Abei: No, she's not a female knight-errant. It sounds strange to say that!]
[Uncle: The car was probably going too fast!]
[Qingqian: I'm going out for dinner with my roommate.]
[Abei: Isn't that a really bad way to change the subject?]
…
The girlfriend went out for a fancy meal with her girlfriends, while the boyfriend ate at the cafeteria with his godsons.
During the process, Ji Qingqian also sent over a few photos of dishes to share her daily life.
It was the "Jiangnan Gui" restaurant that Lu Yibei had taken her to before.
The food is eaten quickly in the cafeteria.
When Lu Yibei and the others returned to their dorm, Ji Qingqian was still sitting in the dining room.
Lu Yibei, dressed as Ge You, lay on the bed while his girlfriend was still eating.
Out of sheer boredom, he kept scrolling through her WeChat Moments.
A few landscape photos, and a group photo.
Lingyin Temple held no novelty for Lu Yibei, so he zoomed in and widened the photo of Ji Qingqian, looking at it several times.
"Laobei, are you going back to Jiahe this year?" Liu Jie asked from under the bed.
“Go back,” Lu Yibei said.
"I'm not going back; train tickets are incredibly hard to get."
Liu Jie said he's from Fujian province, and his hometown is neither too far nor too close to Hangzhou: "And I was only welcomed by my parents on the first night I went back... They wanted to kick me out the next day. What about you guys, Sun'er and Fatty?"
"I'll go back, but only for three or four days. After that, I'll be going to comic conventions with the club."
Zhao Xun is from Shanghai. Not only are train tickets easy to buy, but even if he didn't have a ticket, a ride-sharing service could take him back.
"Did you get your comic book tickets?" Liu Jie asked.
"Tomorrow," Zhao Sun said.
"Then I'll buy one too, and take one with me when you come."
Liu Jie said, then asked, "Fatty, are your tickets back to Jiangsu Province hard to buy either?"
Their dorm is located on the east coast, and their hometowns, from south to north, are Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Fujian, all of which are coastal areas.
"I'll say it again, I'm from Haizhou."
The fat man pursed his lips. "Haizhou District, Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province... It's very important and can't be omitted: 'I'm going back. I should be back after the holiday.'"
Liu Jie looked dejected:
"It seems that for the first three days, only your father will be able to protect this country for you. Sigh, so busy, so busy... It's good to be busy."
"Go find your Chen Dan to play with." Fatty Hao said disdainfully.
"I won't go. If I see Chen Dan even once during the National Day holiday, I'm a son of a bitch," Liu Jie said defiantly, swearing to the heavens.
Seeing how assertive he was, Fatty Hao was taken aback:
"Wait, Brother Jie, you didn't have a falling out with Chen Dan, did you?"
Lu Yibei, however, nodded understandingly:
"I understand, Chen Dan must have gone home too."
Liu Jie immediately gave a thumbs up:
"It still has to be Laobei."
Lu Yibei sneered, then jumped off the bed, tugged at his wide-legged pants, tidied his somewhat messy hair, and walked towards the door.
Liu Jie called out to him, "Where are you going?"
Lu Yibei replied, "Takeout."
Liu Jie then asked, "Eating alone? By yourself?"
Lu Yibei turned around and looked at the former with a smile.
Just as Liu Jie was feeling warm and fuzzy from Lu Yibei's smile, and was thinking that Lu Yibei was going to give him a surprise—actually, he had ordered enough food for the whole dormitory—Lu Yibei spoke:
How did you know my girlfriend bought me milk tea?
Liu Jie: ...
"How did you know she was delivering it herself?"
Jay roared, "Are you fucking crazy?!"
Like a leader leaving his seat, Lu Yibei turned back and waved goodbye just as he was about to step out of the doorway.
Goodbye, comrades.
"roll."
The three people in the dormitory simultaneously gave each other the middle finger.
Lu Yibei turned on his phone screen as he went downstairs.
【Qingqian: Dudu】
[Qingqian: Qingqian rider is three minutes away from you]
[Qingqian: Jiangda can deliver to the door, please come downstairs to pick up your food.]
[Abei: Here I come! Here I come!]
[Qingqian: Please don't be late.]
[Abei: Knowing that such a lovely delivery rider is coming to my door, I'm sure I won't be late.]
[Qingqian: Please don't seduce delivery drivers.]
…
Lu Yibei went downstairs.
Ji Qingqian arrived just in time.
