Chapter 210 We Are All Ordinary People

Ma Jiaojiao knew she shouldn't cry.

She even tried very hard to hold back her tears.

But sometimes when emotions come, they're like a tide, unstoppable.

But she didn't expect her tears to flow so profusely.

In a hazy state, she couldn't control not only her tears, but also her words.

She heard herself asking Zhao Xun for help.

She heard herself wailing.

These things came out naturally, as if they didn't need to be thought out.

She clearly wanted to pretend to be strong.

Just like usual, I returned to my dorm room as if nothing had happened.

But now.

"I...I know...Senior...What should I do...I...I'm really upset..."

I want to die.

Both weak and ugly.

How embarrassing.

That's so embarrassing.

The boy beside Ma Jiaojiao paused for a moment, then revealed a mocking smile. He said calmly:

"You're fucking cheap, you know that?"

"...Waaaaaah!"

The girl cried even louder.

There weren't many people on the road, but since it was lunch break, there were still some people coming and going.

They glanced sideways at the peculiar couple who were walking and crying.

Zhao Sun pushed open the door of a shop.

"welcome…"

The shop assistant inside raised an eyebrow halfway through her sentence: "...Sunzi, what brings you here? Hmm...you..."

The shop assistant turned to look at the counter and saw a round-faced girl with braids standing behind Zhao Xun.

She was sobbing intermittently, occasionally letting out a whimper.

Upon noticing this stranger, the girl with the braided hair tried to restrain herself, but she couldn't quite control herself, and tears still streamed down her reddened eyes.

The shop assistant, nearing thirty, didn't speak. He lowered his head, no longer looking, and asked:

"What would you like to drink?"

Zhao Xun didn't answer, but instead reminded Ma Jiaojiao, "Take off your shoes."

He tossed his clover-patterned shell shoes aside, walked inside, and said to the shop assistant with a smirk:

"It hasn't gone bankrupt yet?"

"...If you can't speak well, then say less."

No sooner had the shop assistant finished speaking than a blue and white mixed-breed adult cat appeared out of nowhere.

With a thud, he rushed to Zhao Xun's feet and unleashed a series of cat-like punches on his calves.

"Tom still loves you as much as ever," the shop assistant laughed.

"Stop talking nonsense, I'm its second parent." Zhao Xun said calmly.

"It's not as friendly to the north," the shop assistant added.

“Laobei hasn’t come here for hundreds of years; it’s forgotten that such a person ever existed,” Zhao Xun said.

"Nonsense, Yi Bei brought his girlfriend here a couple of days ago... but his girlfriend has such a strong aura that even my cat seems afraid to approach her. So Yi Bei grabbed Tom and petted him... forcibly giving his girlfriend a good rub." The shop assistant laughed.

"...Doesn't this further explain why it doesn't like Laobei?" Zhao Xun said.

But Daddy is still Daddy, and even these fearless cats are a little afraid of him.

Ma Jiaojiao sniffed as she looked around the shop.

Besides the blue and white cat named "Tom," there are other cats in the store.

They either stood up to gaze at the scene, or lazily straightened their backs.

Ma Jiaojiao followed Zhao Xun over, and only then did she realize—oh, it turns out this is a cat cafe.

The shop assistant beckoned to Zhao Sun with his finger.

Zhao Xun hummed in response and moved closer, gesturing with his chin towards Ma Jiaojiao, whose eyes were red.

"Did you find another poor kitten...? This one... is a bit big?"

Zhao Sun frowned:

"Mind your own business first; you can't even get any business in broad daylight..."

"It would be strange to have business during the day, especially since it's not the weekend and the weather is bad."

The 30-year-old man who was also the shop assistant wiped the counter casually with a rag: "Come upstairs. You only came here because you knew I had no business, right? Scan the code to order. Don't try to get something for free."

As he spoke, he glanced at Ma Jiaojiao and the milk tea in her hand:

"Miss, we don't allow takeout drinks..."

But seeing Ma Jiaojiao constantly sniffling, he sighed, stopped talking, and tossed her a pack of tissues: "Coffee costs money, but tissues are free."

Ma Jiaojiao felt like crying again.

She gave a soft "hmm".

Zhao Xun and Ma Jiaojiao went upstairs to the second floor, and Tom followed them up.

They even got there first and grabbed seats before them.

There are cats upstairs, and the seating is similar to tatami mats, where you sit on the floor.

After Ma Jiaojiao sat down cross-legged, a black and white cat instinctively curled up and huddled on her lap.

"Lao Bei... that's your senior Lu, he knows the owner of this shop."

Zhao Sun gave a brief introduction.

Ma Jiaojiao nodded.

She gently stroked the hairy area on her thigh, her red eyes still filled with a moist mist.

She had stopped sobbing by now, but it was uncertain when she would start again.

"...Senior, I..."

Ma Jiaojiao didn't know whether to say thank you or apologize.

But Zhao Xun interrupted him:

"I was just a fucking lazy bum... I deserved it."

Ma Jiaojiao was speechless, stroking the cat's firm thighs again and again.

"But I still think the same thing: your boyfriend is a commodity, and you are an idiot, a complete idiot."

Zhao Xun sneered. He braced himself on the ground with both hands, leaned back, and raised his chin at Ma Jiaojiao in a provocative manner: "If you have any objections, you can say so."

Ma Jiaojiao bit her lip but shook her head; she had nothing to refute.

Zhao Xun raised an eyebrow:
