Chapter 116 Like a Clown

"Where's Sarah?"

Seeing that he didn't speak, Lin Zhi continued to ask.

Zhong Jinzhou raised his hand to take off his glasses and pinched his eyebrows.

"Andy, I promised you that you could take Sarah away, but I didn't say anything and not let Sarah say goodbye to me."

Lin Zhi frowned slightly, and her annoyance towards him increased a little.

"A gentleman's word is as good as his bond. If you don't keep your word, what's the point?"

"But I also said that you are Mrs. Zhong."

He walked towards her and suddenly leaned forward. A strange breath lingered around her ears. Lin Zhi's heart tightened, her brows furrowed, and her heartbeat accelerated, but she was not moved. Instead, she felt a little repulsed by his approach.

She took the next step, stepped back, and looked warily at the man in front of her whom she had only met twice.

"You are simply unreasonable."

Zhong Jinzhou looked up and sighed.

There were footsteps outside, followed by a female voice: "Sir, Miss Huang is back."

Lin Zhi's tense nerves suddenly relaxed at this moment.

Zhong Jinzhou walked past her and turned back when he reached the door. "Sarah now believes that I am her father. Miss Andy, there are some things you cannot interfere with."

"I want to!"

Lin Zhi turned around, but Zhong Jinzhou was gone.

Thinking of Miss Huang mentioned by the woman just now, she realized that something was wrong and ran out quickly. Unexpectedly, as soon as she reached the stairs, she saw several people coming down and standing at the stairs on the first floor.

Fu Lanchen!

Seeing a familiar figure, she quickly went downstairs, ignoring Zhong Jinzhou, and walked straight past him and came to Fu Lanchen on the first floor.

At this moment, she is not afraid of anything.

Zhong Jinzhou was slightly surprised to see her naturally holding Fu Lanchen's arm, but he still walked down the stairs step by step, and finally stopped beside the woman standing on the other side of Fu Lanchen, "Why are you here?"

The woman had short hair and was wearing a new goose yellow suit, a haute couture item from this summer. The necklace around her neck was particularly eye-catching; it was a golden Buddha amulet.

The whole person looks very powerful.

She ignored Zhong Jinzhou's question and asked, "Where's the child?"

"What child?"

A rare trace of panic appeared on Zhong Jinzhou's face. He tried his best to conceal his nervousness, but these micro-expressions made him look like a clown to those who saw him.

His original image in Lin Zhi's mind collapsed, and he looked wretched and pitiful.

The woman didn't want to waste any more time talking to him. She paced a few steps and turned to look at Fu Lanchen.

With just a glance, Fu Lanchen asked Zhong Jinzhou coldly, "Where's Sarah?"

Zhong Jinzhou shifted his gaze. Facing the person in front of him, he was obviously disdainful. He was too lazy to even say a word. Instead, he held his head high.

Fu Lanchen had no patience. "Mr. Zhong, your information in Country M has been corrected due to a registration error by the staff. Your real wife is Miss Huang Jinwen. Sarah has nothing to do with you. There is no point in keeping her by your side."

Zhong Jinzhou's hanging arms were trembling slightly, and his palms were clenched into fists.

Lin Zhi looked at him, almost wanting to speak, but finally couldn't help herself. She knew Fu Lanchen was there, so there was no need for her to come forward.

"She's in Repulse Bay."

After saying that, he turned and went upstairs.

The woman followed his gaze and asked, "Do you have a house there?"

Zhong Jinzhou chose to avoid answering.

Just as Fu Lanchen was about to make a phone call, Lin Zhi grabbed his hand and said, "I know where it is."

Fu Lanchen said goodbye to the woman and left hurriedly with Lin Zhi.

On the way, she acted as a guide and soon arrived at the small detached villa that she had seen during the day. She could see the lights on in the house from a distance.

Although Fu Lanchen had many doubts, he did not ask in a hurry. Instead, after getting off the car, he followed Lin Zhi and knocked on the door of the villa.

A woman opened the door and was about to ask, but Lin Zhi said, "Sarah, I'm her mother."

The woman was still in a daze, and she pushed the door open and forced her way in.

Sarah fell asleep in one of the rooms on the second floor. Fu Lanchen gently picked her up and took Lin Zhi out of the villa.

On the way back to the hotel, Lin Zhi sat in the back seat holding the sleeping Sarah in his arms.

Inside the dim and cramped car, the atmosphere was quiet and somewhat awkward.

Lin Zhi was not paying attention to the scenery outside the car window. Instead, he turned his gaze inside the car, staring at the stern man in the rearview mirror.

"How did you know I was in Zhong Jinzhou's mansion?"

"I checked the hotel's surveillance. Your assistant said you left the crew in a hurry, so I know you went to his place."

Fu Lanchen's tone was light, even a little gentle.

Lin Zhi didn't know what he was thinking at the moment, but he also wanted to know.

"Sarah, if you take her back, do you want to do a paternity test?"

Fu Lanchen did not answer.

The atmosphere in the car was silent for nearly ten minutes.

Lin Zhi couldn't help but say, "It's okay. Just don't let Sarah know when you do it. At her age, she's already started to remember things, and if she grows up, it won't have a good influence on her."

"When did you get pregnant?"

The car stopped steadily outside the hotel, and Fu Lanchen finally chose to ask a question after a long silence.

Lin Zhi didn't rush to get out of the car, but said calmly: "Five years ago, just one month before the contract was about to expire, you got drunk in the club..."

Lin Zhi didn’t say anything else after that.

At this time, Fu Lanchen pushed the door and got out of the car. He then walked around the front of the car, helped her open the back door, bent down to take Sarah from Lin Zhi's arms, and carried her to the hotel.

Lin Zhi followed behind and saw the surprised expressions of the hotel staff. Not only did she not feel worried, but she also felt an inexplicable sense of pride.
